This is the Ripper in Natural and Black. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking the Ripper is made by Honor Point USA, and you’re right. What you may not know is that Honor Point is currently transitioning to become Back Bay/USA.
The Ripper’s full name is the Dyneema Tegris Kit System. You’ll note the use of Tegris Ballistic material which is laser cut to the desired shape and has some body to it, allowing it stand on its own. The material is assembled via a combination of sewing a rivets.

BOISE, IDAHO (April 2, 2018) – Today, Kitfox Design Group launched a fundraising effort to benefit the TACP Association. The Limited Edition TACP Association Benefit Print is available on the Kitfox website as of 9 a.m. Eastern Time this morning.
Sara Westman of Kitfox Design Group teamed up with Kevin aka @gypsycabdriver on Instagram to create a phenomenal illustration of the 124th Air Support Operations Squadron M4 rifle featured in the Service Weapon Edition of Westman’s latest firearm coloring book. One lucky winner will be chosen from the order list to receive the original illustration which has been professionally matted and framed.
In an effort to raise substantial funds for the TACP Association, the Limited Edition prints will be available now through April 16th at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. All proceeds from the print sale will benefit the TACP Association. The winner of the original will be chosen on April 20th and announced via social media and contacted via email.
Each print will be signed and numbered, and will not be printed again after this fundraiser.

This should have been shared yesterday, but I spent all day behind the wheel. It’s just as good today.
Late last week, SIG SAUER posted a rather intriguing photo to their Instagram account.
It had this caption.
6 guns….60,000 rounds…zero failures…big shout out to the testing and engineering teams at SIG SAUER as they put the P320 through its paces for a new customer’s endurance testing protocol
I asked for more information from SIG, inquiring which government agency the test was conducted for. No one would say, neither on, nor off-the-record, but I did find out that this was First Article Testing and that it wasn’t DoD. Additionally, the testing was conducted at SIG with government observers. This leads me to believe it was for Department of Homeland Security. SIG technicians fired 10,000 rounds each through six P320 pistols. I understand the ammunition was Gold Dot 2.
The pistols also went through a full battery of testing including a six-axis drop test. Once again, there were no failures. Both of these tests are significant due to last year’s -30 Deg drop issue and the P320-derived Modular Handgun System exhibited issues with ammunition in DoD testing last year.
It’s very rare for a new piece of equipment to complete First Article Testing with zero deficiencies. It sounds like SIG has been learning from past issues and upping their game. Let’s see if they can keep this up.
