Huron Combat Cold Weather Uniform Jacket and Pant

November 10th, 2016

TYR Tactical has just released the Huron Combat Cold Weather Uniform which consists of Jacket and Pant. Throughout the design process they focused on developing a system that provides comfort, durability, and weather protection. The end result was a “go anywhere, do anything” garment that your gear closet has been missing.

Huron Combat Cold Weather Uniform Jacket

The Huron™ Combat Cold Weather Uniform Jacket (HRN-CWU105-T) is an ultra-light, packable soft shell jacket that provides ample protection from wind and light rain.

The Jacket is a full front zip, six pocket design, built with additional space to allow layering when temps drop below freezing. There are two hand pockets, two chest pockets, and two upper arm pockets, that provide plenty storage for small items. Additionally, they can be opened when needed, to vent excess heat during times of high exertion. The uniform is also treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Special Features:
They have incorporated ventilation points on several areas of the uniform. The use of poly mesh on the front breast pockets and lower hand pocket allow for air to pass through the garment during both static and active situations.

Additional Features:
• Two Breast Pockets with Ventilation (Zipper Closure)
• Two Lower Hand Pockets with Ventilation (Zipper Closure)
• Two Sleeve Pockets (Zipper Closure)
• DWR treated for water repellency
• Designed to work in-conjunction with the Huron® Combat Cold Weather Uniform Pant (Sold Separately)
• Sizes: Small-2XLarge

Huron Combat Cold Weather Uniform Pant

The Huron™ Combat Cold Weather Uniform Pant (HRN-CWU105-P) is an ultra-light, packable soft shell pant that provides ample protection from wind and light rain.

The Pants combine 2-Way Stretch Softshell material and a 4-Way Stretch Tweave for comfort and durability. They offer two front slash pockets, two rear zippered pockets, and two zippered cargo pockets. The wide waistband has large belt loops to accommodate belt’s up to 2” in height, a button fly, and a Velcro® front closure. The knees are double layered Tweave for both stretch and durability. They incorporate a pocket for inserting knee pads if preferred. Similar in design to our popular Huron™ Hot Weather Uniform, the pants use 4-Way Stretch in key areas that allow for complete freedom of movement. The uniform is also treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Additional Features:
• Groin, waist band and knees incorporate 4-way stretch tweave for added range of motion, comfort, and abrasion resistance
• Universal Knee Pad Pockets
• Knee Cinching Tabs
• Two Rear low profile slash pockets (Zipper Closure)
• Two Cargo Pockets. Low profile design allows the pockets to lay flat when not in use. (Zipper Closure)
• Bar Button and Velcro® fly closure
• Boot cuff drawstring adjustment
• Designed to work in-conjunction with the Huron® Combat Cold Weather Uniform Jacket (Sold Separately)
• Sizes: 28R -40R

SilencerCo CEO Josh Waldron on the Hearing Protection Act

November 10th, 2016

My fellow Americans,

Tuesday’s Republican election victory was a tremendous win for our Second Amendment rights and it also marked a significant increase in the potential for the Hearing Protection Act to become law and remove silencers from the NFA registry. SilencerCo has been and will continue to be a vocal supporter of the HPA and advocate for it to become a priority in the legislative agenda for 2017.

As a member of The Suppressed™, you’ve likely thought to yourself, “Why are silencers still an NFA item?” SilencerCo has not only wondered this ourselves, but along with partners such as the American Suppressor Association, we’ve taken steps to support the introduction of legislation to remove silencers from the list of NFA items.

On October 22, 2015 the Hearing Protection Act was introduced. This piece of legislation is aimed at removing silencers from the NFA and instead having their transfer go through a traditional ATF Form 4473 – the same way you would purchase a standard rifle or pistol.

What does this mean for you?

No $200 tax stamp
No excessive wait times
No NFA trusts
No fingerprint cards, passport photos, or Chief Law Enforcement Officer notification
A simple process, just like when you purchase most firearms through your dealer

Even though the House, Senate, and Presidency will be controlled by like-minded advocates for the Second Amendment, bills take time to become laws and citizens should not be taxed for trying to protect their hearing while exercising their Second Amendment rights. Between now and the passage of this bill, we encourage our customers to continue to support the industry and to take advantage of the following provision: The Hearing Protection Act also includes a provision for all people who purchase a silencer between the time the bill is introduced (October 22, 2015) until the day it passes – should you purchase a silencer during that time, you will receive a $200 tax credit to cover the cost of any new silencer tax stamps you pay for.

This bill was initially championed by Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) as its primary sponsor and since then has had multiple co-sponsors. SilencerCo, Rep. Salmon, and all supporters of the bill realize that this is a long-term effort and will not be something that happens overnight. With the help of people like you – The Suppressed – we will gain momentum and educate both the general public and lawmakers as to the true nature of silencers.

If you haven’t already joined The Suppressed, click HERE to add your voice to the cause and write to your Congressmen and women and Senators to voice your support for the HPA as a legislative priority for 2017.

Sincerely,

Josh Waldron
CEO, SilencerCo

DHB Founder David Brooks Passes Away in Prison

November 9th, 2016

We’ve been remiss in reporting that David Brooks, the founder of DHB, a body armor manufacturer made infamous early in the war due to his criminal activity, recently passed away at age 61, while in federal prison, serving time for stock swindling, among other crimes.

Old timers in the body armor business remember him well.

Emdom – Baker Street Bag

November 9th, 2016

As soon as I saw the Baker Street Bag from Emdom I thought, “Mussette Bag” and it turns out I was right. After some inspiration from “Frank”, they designed it as a modern interpretation of the US 1936 M36 Musette Bag. If you’re not familiar with this WWII icon, it can be seen in a backpack configuration in the series “Band of Brothers” and in sling bag configuration in the movie “Fury”.

The Emdom Baker Street Bag is designed with tons of internal organization capability, making it multipurpose as an everyday carry, range, or bail out bag.

Approximate dimensions: 12″ tall x 12” wide x 5” thick
Approximate weight: 2lbs 9oz

Available in MultiCam, Black, Coyote, Foliage Green, SDI Grey and Sewer Green.
