Griffin Armament Low-Pro RIGID Rail Kits Available

July 17th, 2016

105

The design objective for the Griffin Low-Pro RIGID rails were to provide a slim, ultralight M-LOK rail, with increased rigidity over current similar market options.

“We had been looking at the market for a while and noticed that there were two types of rails essentially. Rails that were beefy and strong, and rails that were slim and unfortunately weaker. We wanted to combine the desirable attributes of both category products into one optimal rail system.”, Austin stated, Primary owner and Lead engineer for Griffin. He went on, “The final design resulted in 70% more rigidity than current similar market slim rails. This is important for those who need to use IR lasers as armed professionals or for hunting. There are a lot of great options now in IR laser aimer products that have solid mounting and solid bodies and we wanted to make a slim rail that provided industry leading point of aim / point of impact for those aimers.”

    LBT Inc – Ridgeline Ruck

    July 16th, 2016

At Warrior East, LBT Inc showed a new maritime friendly update to the Ridgeline Ruck that was featured at SHOT Show this past year.

The pack has a removable lid which can be used in its own right and incorporates a zippered opening at the bottom.  The Ridgelind is constructed from a combination of HANK along with mesh or 4-way stretch softshell material for pockets.  These materials don’t absorb a lot of water, as the pack is intended for maritime use.

The pack is adaptable to the ALICE frame or LBT’s proprietary RSS (ruck suspension system) which is based on their CAS (comfort armor suspension) to alleviate stress on the shoulders by transferring most of the weight to the hip  belt.

The photo below gives you a little detail on how the padded suspension system works.  It’s adjustable for height.

    SURG – A Viewpoint

    July 16th, 2016

This is some commentary on USSOCOM’s Special Upper Receiver Group requirement sent to me by someone I know in the small arms development world. He wishes to remain anonymous and I will respect that request.

    Dear Readers;

First off, the guys who wrote the Navy patent are really smart and have insider knowledge of what is really going on in combat, I know them personally. SURG is a suppressed weapon with the same length as an M-4, with all the commercial improvements you could want, and which is very hard to detect with thermal or IR imagers. You would have to try and burn yourself and it has secondary flash reduction built in. Everyone who wants to be visible by a $200 thermal camera from farther away than he can shoot back just go on and complain all you want. We are no longer talking about screwing a muzzle can on a 10” barrel and hoping for the best…if you need to go back to war, or even go the first time, ask for one. When it is 1,000 degrees inside the forend, it is just ambient on the Carbon fiber and “No” I am not saying how that works since we all love speculation…it confuses the Enemy.

In Mogadishu the sound of our guns brought thousands of opponents, in Afghanistan they remove IR filters from cheap video cameras and spot IR flashlights miles away…now they have cell phone thermal imagers and can see a fired weapon even without a muzzle flash.

Love the chatter, but let’s build up some facts first…that is one of the SURG candidates, and you don’t want one? Really? Because I don’t believe you…

Gotta start thinking and get planning for the next war, not the last one, Guys.

Warrior East – Knight’s Armament Corp LMG

    July 15th, 2016

Warrior East – Scubapro Helmet Dive Mask

    July 15th, 2016

Scubapro has come up with an adapter for their dive masks which allow them to be connected into Ops-Core’s ARC rail fitted to a FAST Helmet in a manner similar to O2 masks for MFF ops. This device really increases the versatility of the FAST Helmet.

Here, it’s fitted to the Synergy Twin mask but the straps can be used with any of Scubapro’s masks with these quick attach clips. The strap can easily be swapped out for a traditional behind-the-head version when needed.

    Look for 4th quarter availability.
