Jil-Lite Constel LED Micro Lantern
June 10th, 2013My friend Mel at Kifaru turned me on to the Jil-Lite Constel LED Micro Lantern. It looks to be a great little lantern that can be hung from a branch or in a tent just as well as it can be carried. It uses a CR123A Lithium battery to offer 30-40 hours of light. It’s T6 aircraft aluminum body is waterproof to about 10m. The Constel features a dome shaped light diffuser which houses a white LED lamp. Below is a photo of Mel’s Jill-Lite next to a 4Sevens Q Mini 123 which is only 2 1/4″ tall. He tells me he swears by it. Not only is it small and lightweight but offers plenty of illumination for a tent.

June 10th, 2013This just in from McMillan Group International‘s Facebook Page. McMillan had a heck of a time with Bank of America, prompting them to look for alternative means to handle their transactions.

We are getting close. I have chosen a name, McMillan Merchant Solutions, LLC, have signed a contract with a processing company which is behind our industry 100%. As a matter of fact when I told them that I wanted to donate a percentage of my revenue to any number of industry and 2nd Amendment supporting organizations, they told me they will match me dollar for dollar. That indeed help me to trust that they all willing to put their money where their mouth is just as I am.
I will have a list of organization that I will be willing to donate to and I will let the customer suggest to whom I will make a donation.
I have NRA, NSSF, SCI and Dallas Safari Club. I would like some suggestions as to who else should be on the list. I am thinking we should have 6 choices but if there are more good choices than that, I will consider adding to the list.

Which Family of Camo Patterns Should The US Army Choose?
June 10th, 2013Way back in April 0f 2011 we ran a rather unconventional Camo Design Contest prior to the kickoff of the US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort. During the ensuing two years the Army has downselected to four commercial families of patterns and tested the heck out of them. Since the Secretary of the Army is supposed to announce their selection this Friday in celebration of the Army’s birthday, we thought it would be fun to poll our readers on which pattern they want the Army to choose. This unscientific poll will remain open until Wed evening at 2359Z so that we can announce the winner on Thursday morning, just in case it might sway the Army’s decision. Feel free to vote for your favorite and tell your friends.
