SHOT Show – Grey Ghost Gear

Friday, January 20th, 2017

The Super Dave GT Sling from Grey Ghost Gear is wicked light at 2.2 oz. It’s also swoopy, what with the laser cut holes to cut the air while you bring your gun to bear. Additionally, they’ve incorporated Velcro in order to accept nametags or your favorite moral patch.

Available now in Blaxk and Coyote. Also available without the aerodynamic laser cut holes for you squares who don’t want to look cool. In case you can’t tell, I like the version with the holes.

Grey Ghost Precision Announces Three New Brand Ambassadors

Thursday, June 16th, 2016

DALTON GARDENS, ID – Grey Ghost Precision is proud to announce three new Brand Ambassadors to showcase their products throughout the United States: Nick Koumalatsos, Jim Staley and Will Petty. Each of these men brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge with regard to firearms and training. They embody the values and spirit of Grey Ghost, are dedicating to improving Americans who pursue the noble profession of arms, and we are looking forward to doing great things with them.

Nick Koumalatsos is a 12-year Special Operations Marine Corps veteran who served with Marine Reconnaissance and Marine Special Operations Command. He has deployed all over the world and in support of OIF/OEF and trained foreign police, military, and militia in several countries. His military career prepared him for successful leadership and strategic operational planning. As founder of The Raider Project, Koumalatsos has helped MARSOC and other USMC combat veterans to transition smoothly, peacefully and successfully into the private sector. Additionally he is the CEO of two successful businesses: Survival Tactical Systems, an international training and consulting company; and Skallywag, an adventure apparel company.

Jim Staley is currently the Lead Instructor for the Deliberate Dynamics training program. His military service includes 8 years as a Recon Marine and Sniper. Upon leaving the Corps, Staley worked for Triple Canopy in Basrah as Shift Leader for a 17-man Department of State detail from 2005 to 2007. Between 2009 and 2012, he served as a GRS contractor team lead in Iraq. This unique and extraordinary background gives him a perspective unmatched by any but a handful of professionals anywhere in the world.

Will Petty is a former police officer, LE firearms instructor and tactical unit member who is the creator of the VCQB program. A longtime instructor for the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association and adjunct for regional police academies, he has also worked as a Counterterrorism/tactical consultant for security units of the United Arab Emirates and the Critical National Infrastructure Authority. He continues to work patrol and as his department’s rangemaster. Petty currently holds the billet of National Director of Law Enforcement Training for the 88 Tactical Group.

Grey Ghost Gear/Grey Ghost Precision is a Service Connected Disabled Veteran owned manufacturer of Tactical gear and firearms. We remain in constant comms with the customer by ceaselessly interacting with operationally active military units and the best first responders in the world. Our senior staff frequently attends military and LE training and continues to travel to conflict areas like Afghanistan and Kurdistan to see our equipment in use first hand by the guys who are killing bad guys with it.

See you on the sharp end.

Grey Ghost Gear Releases the Wanderer

Friday, June 10th, 2016

Wandering. It’s what we do. We take ourselves all over the globe in search of riches, excitement or maybe the next double whiskey on the rocks. Often we’re traveling to and from work or on a plane moving to the next business venue. Wherever we wander, we need to bring along the necessaries for our job and to feel comfortable outside our home or battle position. Taking cues from our previous waxed canvas offerings, Wanderer captures all such reasons and needs in a low profile, high functioning aesthetically striking design.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Mark Twain

The Wanderer is a messenger style bag built of waxed canvas and features waterproof zippers. You can carry your precious cargo in rain the rain or along the shore without worry. It feels really nice too, like furry walls on a chill, foggy morning.

  • Measurements: 20.5 in. long, 11.5 in. tall, 4.5 in. deep
  • Carry strap: adjustable seatbelt webbing fit everyone from the petite flâneur to brawny vagabond
  • End pockets: 2 each on either end; one zippered and flap closed, expanding to carry a water bottle, the other an open stash pocket that will hold a small umbrella (for you, not your gear), a couple of AR magazines or an IFAK.
  • Body Flap: The pull-over courier style flap secures with 2 magnetic snaps and contains 2 9×5 in. zippered, tricot lined pockets for smart devices, eye pro, or other small valuables.
  • Interior Organization: The primary compartment is divided into a 2/3-1/3 configuration. The smaller of the 2 will carry a laptop. The other will secure anything from a PDW with stock collapsed to your carry-on luggage. A simple side release web-and-buckle feature secures contents from spillage.
  • Further Compartmentalization: 2 vertical zippers in the front compartment open a gate to access loose, small items. The reverse side of the gate contains 4 stretch mesh pockets and a pen scabbard. Above those is yet another pocket with sufficient accommodation for an iPad Mini or similar device.

The classic, understated nature of the Wanderer is imminently suitable for customers who must by necessity remain inconspicuous and low profile but it works perfectly well for the everyman too. Utilize it to carry your gear across campus or use it to for off-body carry needs – there’s a zippered, hook-and-loop backed pocket to the rear of the bag, with plenty of room for a handgun and spare mags, and it’s been pleated so the weapon won’t print.

This is the same sort of utility that recently earned the Wanderer and its cousin, the Gypsy, a place on Fox News list of “ultimate tactical graduation gifts.”

Vagabond or skald, flaneur or gyrovague or face-shooting pipehitter who lives in a house that looks like a werewolf, we think you’ll find our new messenger bag worth a look. You may not have been everywhere yet, but might as well put it on your list. Take a Wanderer along with you.

NRA – Sneak Peek of Grey Ghost Gear Banshee Battle Belt

Saturday, May 21st, 2016

Grey Ghost’s upcoming Banshee Battle Belt is a two belt system consisting of an outer load carrying belt which features PALS channels and an AustriAlpin buckle as well as a padded inner trouser belt with a simple D ring style buckle with a strap that Velcros back on itself. The two connect when used together via Velcro. This one is Grey but I’d imagine they’ll have all kinds of cool colors and patterns available as well as different sizes.

Grey Ghost Gypsy Pack In Full Production, Awes Everyone Who Carries It

Thursday, March 10th, 2016

Dalton Gardens, Idaho (10 FEB 16)

Grey Ghost, the parent brand of both Grey Ghost Gear and Grey Ghost Precision, is happy to announce that our Gypsy Pack is in full production. Our initial test run was wiped out fast. We’ve reallocated resources and now things are jamming.

The Gypsy isn’t so much the Throwback’s older brother as it is its big city cousin. It’s a radical departure from what you’ve come to expect from GGG and is imminently suitable for low-pro work (as you can see in the images). It’s a bag for the traveler or daily commuter who requires all the hoplogical features you have come to expect from us without any of the “Hey, yo, we got a badass over here!” look you get from rack upon rack of MOLLE/PALS.

Not that we don’t like a nice rack.

The flat top design of the Gypsy echoes what you’ll see carried by bicyclists and 2-wheeled couriers, and we’ve intentionally used the waxed canvas for the exterior to give it a casual but dignified urban look. We just made sure it has all the interior geometry necessary to carry and access the tools you might need to kill some asshole if things go pear-shaped (or if you’re caught up in some sort of disaster).

Please do not be frightened by the name. This is not a pack built for (or designed by) those shady vagabonds your Grandma warned you about. No one is going to kidnap you and sell you to the circus.

Crazy grandma.

Dimensions are generous and pleasing without being too big (that’s what she said). It’s 19 in. tall, 16 in. wide, and 4.5 in. deep. This gives the bag a volume of 1368 cubic inches.

The top flap of the bag includes a zippered pocket on either side, each lined with soft material to protect Eye Pro, your phone or even your jewelry. On the lower left side of the flap there appears the leather GG skull accent you know you love and adore. The flap is held down by two adjustable 1 inch side release buckles.

Below the flap is a pocket that has a top cover secured with hook and loop material and two water resistant zippers that allows the pocket to be opened like a gate. On the front are two zippered mesh pockets properly sized to carry various small items sized between a bottle of pain reliever, a phone charger or brass knuckles. Further inside are stretch mesh pockets that vary in size to accommodate pens, flashlights, pistol mags or that extra battery for your laptop.

The front of the pouch has a Hypalon patch with slots cut in it so you add a light or an extra pouch. Under the flap are two rows of PALS webbing with 7 channels to allow you to expand the capacity of the pack by adding pouches to it. There is a zippered pouch just above the PALS webbing, 12 inches long and 8 inches deep. This will carry a notebook, a blowout kit and night vision goggles. Very roomy. The main compartment is 17 in. tall, 4 in. deep and 15 in. wide. That’s 1020 cubic inches, which is damn near enough to carry a midget stripper. You can access this area (or let her out) with vertical zippers along each side of the back panel. There’s also a large loop panel sewn to the inside of the back panel to affix holsters and hook-and-loop pouches, as well as another zippered pouch made of stretch mesh (it’s big enough to carry a MacBook Air).

Speaking of the back panel, it’s padded and uses air mesh that is quilted to improve wearer comfort and circulation. No one likes a sweaty back. The pack straps are in a yoke configuration and are adjustable for a wide array of body types (and feature a carrying handle).

Finally, each side of the pack has a cleverly disguised water bottle pocket and has a cover flap that protects the vertical zipper that expands the pocket when lowered.

Overall, we’re very proud of this design and are confident it will become one of our most popular designs.

Plus, it looks badass. Welcome to the gypsy.

If you’re interested in getting your grubby paws on one of these packs to write or record a review, reach out to our High Lady Amazon Pirate Gynarch Lindsey Lea, We are happy to support worthy publications and sites and expect nothing but a candid, truthful review, but we won’t work with asshats or douche-bags. So if you run a reputable organization, hit us up. If you’re a shady bastard who expects free shit because you have a couple thousand viewers on YouTube or you have a sweet IG account with lots of followers but actually an insufferable little prick who serious professionals make fun of, don’t bother.

See you out there. Be a good American today.

Grey Ghost Initiates Presidents Day Sale

Monday, February 8th, 2016

Dalton Gardens, Idaho (08 FEB 16)
Grey Ghost, the parent brand of both Grey Ghost Gear and Grey Ghost Precision, launches its annual Presidents Day Sale today. We here at GG believe the office of POTUS to be a great and terrible thing. Regardless of our personal opinion about any particular C-i-C, his actions or policies, we hold that the office should always be respected. There are those who sometimes forget this — it is, admittedly, easy to do. We have a particular fondness for Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, whose birthdays are this coming Friday and in just about 2 weeks, respectively. You can of course admire whichever Presidents (or none) you prefer. That’s the beauty of a free country.

The details: we’re discounting over 50 items.

As always if there is something from GGG or GGP you’d be interested in reviewing, please reach out to our resident Despotrix and Amazon Pirate Captain, Lindsey Lea. Please include a brief on what you’re looking for, a sample of past work and what you’re looking to do (a written review, a video review, product placement in a photo shoot, etc.) We’ll happily discuss interesting projects with most anybody except for a few unsavory characters (so for instance if you prefer cheap beer, don’t eat meat or have ever enjoyed watching The View don’t bother writing in).

The full sale list is in its own category at, but if you want it broken down Barney Style here goes:

Post SHOT Show Wrapup – Grey Ghost Gear  / Orion Design Group / S&S Precision

Sunday, January 24th, 2016

I had a chance to catch up with Orion Design Group.  They gave me a peek at a couple of new items in their Lupus camouflage pattern.

In addition to this Lupus helmet cover for the Crye Precision AirFrame helmet, they’ve got a MOLLE Chassis for the S&S Precision PlateFrame.
