TNVC Mohawk Gen 2 Now Available, Gen 1 on Clearance While Supplies Last

Thursday, July 19th, 2018

5CC87E7B-2B46-41C5-93CD-BC70BB2A31F1

In the short time since the release of the original Generation 1 Mohawk Counterweight and Storage systems, the Mohawk has been a runaway hit with military, LE, and civilian night vision users alike. Rather than resting on our laurels however, we’ve continued to improve upon the original Mohawk design and listened to user feedback, and we are now proud to announce the launch of the Generation 2 Mohawk Counterweight/Storage system.

Designed by TNVC staff and incorporating operator feedback as well as our staff’s own battlefield experience, we designed the Mohawk Gen. 2 to be a highly functional, modular accessory for all modern warriors. It provides useful storage and retention of mission-essential gear and will attach to any currently-fielded ballistic or bump helmet with Velcro.

Manufactured in the U.S. by Spiritus Systems, the Gen. 2 Mohawk is 100% Berry compliant, and is now constructed out of a much lighter weight 500D Cordura Nylon without giving up any of the functionality or features of the 1000D Generation 1 design. The Gen. 2 Mohawk also feature fully color and pattern matched Velcro loop fastener, even in patterns such as Multicam Aridä, Multicam Blackä, and Multicam Tropicä to provide an uninterrupted surface pattern. We’ve also introduced the highly requested Ranger Green colorway to the Mohawk line, replacing the Olive Drab of the Gen. 1 design.

Like the Gen. 1 Mohawk, the Gen. 2 Mohawk comes in three models:

· Mohawk MK1—Counterweight pouch with four user-configurable lead weights to adjust the counterweight from 4 ounces to a full pound, as well as a removable battery storage tray, perfect for almost any NVG system from the AN/PVS-14 to dual-tube systems like the AN/PVS-15, TNV/Sentinel, DTNVG, and more

Mohawk MK3 Gen. 2

The Mohawk Gen. 2 offers all of the great features that made the original Mohawk a hit, including the vertically-oriented Mohawk strip, which is the centerpiece of the design, featuring a Velcro pile surface that accepts attachment of all currently issued / fielded signal strobe devices. The continuous pile strip allows for precise placement of the device on the rear or top of the helmet while providing enough room for attaching a blast sensor device. The adjustable shock cord net provides secondary retention for the devices while not limiting access to their controls. The shock cord net also provides excellent storage for a SOF-T tourniquet for those not using an IR strobe.

The Gen. 2 also features extended cable management loops for communications downleads, as well as a cord lock retainer to prevent the retention bungee from shifting or hanging loose when mounted. The Mohawk also features multiple loops for ready access to spare batteries, as well as secondary retention tie-down points for additional stability and security.

The Generation 2 Mohawks are on sale now at $79 for all versions.

We are also running a clearance sale on all remaining stocks of the Generation 1 Mohawk while supplies last, with MK1 Gen. 1s and MK2 Gen. 1s priced at $59, and $69 for the MK3 Gen. 1.

Spiritus Systems – The LUNCH BOX Pouch

Friday, April 20th, 2018

Multicam__83583.1514500861

The Lunchbox pouch is a versatile breaching pouch. It was created with exclusive input from the Direct Action Resource Center (DARC), located in Arkansas. DARC is a premiere tactics and training center with the leading breaching program in the country. Their instructors have ages of practical real world experience in explosive breaching, both the military and law enforcement  realms. Spiritus Systems worked closely with DARC and applied this first hand knowledge to create a product specifically for the explosive breaching community. The Lunch Box mates well with the DARC breaching curriculum and theory and is available for use in DARC breaching courses.

Larger than it’s little brother the S.A.C.K Pouch, The Lunchbox was designed to carry large and bulky items with ease. For breachers the pouch is incredibly versatile, allowing the to carry an array of charges onto the objective in a clean and easy to reach package. It also consolidates charges inside of your explosive safe so that they can be accessed at a moments notice and mounted quickly to your plate carrier.

The lunchbox can accommodate multiple Roll-Ups, two 8″x 8″ Pucks or even a firehose charge. The back side of the pouch features 5 rows of elastic loops. These loops can be used to secure multiple Interior Door Charges for easy access.

The pouch features 2 elastic shock cord loops and toggles that allow the pouch to be rolled up and stored in a low profile when not in use. This makes it a great pouch for assaulters who may need to conduct Tactical Site Exploitations or carry extra breaching equipment for the breaching cell.

The pouch features a half zip design, which means that your equipment will not easily fall out of the pouch even if the zipper is left unsecured.

The front of the pouch features a zippered stash pocket that is constructed using a durable 4 way stretch material and is perfect for stashing small items like det cord remnants or firing device plungers The stretch material keeps those items snug and in place. It also allows the pouch to expand if you must stuff oversized items into it.

The inside features soft loop Velcro on both sides. This makes the Lunchbox very dynamic, giving you the ability to use our Velcro Insert Suite to organize mission essential equipment. It also features two slide-locks that make it easy to adjust the tension of the elastic loops hanging below, as well as two tie-down loops for securing sensitive equipment. The two grommet holes on the bottom aid with drainage of the pouch, if submersion occurs.

The Lunchbox is designed to fit onto the bottom of our Micro Fight Chest Rig, or plate carrier or rig that accommodates standard hook and loop, making it a versatile choice for those changing load-outs often. Simply pull this off one kit and add it to another.

The bottom of the pouch features two elastic loops that can be adjusted to hold a tourniquet or other equipment that you may need to rapidly deploy. If bottom carry doesn’t fit your mission needs, you can easily remove and reinstall the loops as necessary.

Spiritus Systems – Lunchbox

Thursday, December 28th, 2017

Designed with input from the Direct Action Resource Center, the Lunchbox was designed with Breachers and Assaulters in mind. Considerably larger than its little brother the “SACK” pouch the Lunch Box provides a simple solution for carrying explosives or collecting SSE.

It can easily accommodate multiple Roll-Ups, 8”x8” Puck Charges plus it has 5 elastic slots on the back to carry Interior Door Charges of varying length.

The pouch rolls up into a convenient stowage position using toggles and shock cord when not in use.

We brought the Tourniquet loops on the bottom to this new design as well as the stretch zipper stash pocket on the front. The stretch pocket makes it easy to carry remnants of det cord, rolls of tape or even spare plungers.

Finally we added elastic loops on both sides for stashing extra shock tube up while rolling primed to the door.

SPARTANAT – GEAR Made in USA: Spiritus Systems

Sunday, December 24th, 2017

Spiritus Systems 1

In nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti… Christmas will come. We can not bring you a Holy Spirit, but Spiritus Systems we have in stock. We just introduced their Micro Chest Rig with a SPARTANAT Review (http://spartanat.com/2017/12/review-spiritus-systems-micro-fight-chest-rig/) a few days ago. Now we want to know from those US minimalists what drives them.

Spiritus Systems 2

SPARTANAT: There are many shops with many products. Spiritus Systems seems to be the one with one product: the Micro Fight Chassis and its parts. How does it come?

Our Company has always looked for areas in the market that were lacking innovation and substance that we could contribute to. We aren’t in the business of “me too” products, and the last thing the gear world needs is another MOLLE 5.56 mag pouch. The Micro Fight Chest Rig was the first product to bring a high degree of modularity into such a small platform, and we wanted to focus our energy into fully supporting that product and delivering as much user configurability as possible. What people don’t seen is the massive amount of research and new products development we do. Everything we release has been put through its paces, and we won’t ship it unless it’s a piece of equipment we would trust out lives to. We stay busy working closely with several agencies and units, finding innovative ways to solve problems they face. We work with companies who are writing the future of battlefield technology and communications, allowing us to incorporate design elements and features for the battlefield of the future. Throughout 2018, you will see several new products release to the public. The most exciting of these are our Plate Carriers, which you should see more of at SHOT Show 2018.

Spiritus Systems 3

SPARTANAT: Micro seams to be a trend now, from VOCR by Extreme Gear Labs going to D3CR from HSP and Trianing Mini Rig by Helikon-Tex now. What makes your Chest rig system so special?

I’m glad to see so many companies coming around to offer a solution to a problem that has existed for years. When we designed the first Micro Fight Chest Rig back in 2015, we did so out of a frustration that everything on the market was bulky and defined. The part of our System that people respond to the most is the high level of modularity. We don’t tell you how to set up your equipment. We don’t make you buy several chest rigs for different platforms. We don’t restrict your workflow to make sure the kit is ambidextrous. There is no one in the world that know more about your needs than you do, so all we do is provide you the tools to properly achieve the best solution for your situation. What’s great about it is that as your situation changes, you just adjust your rig, and move out. It all comes back to a core Infantry motto: Brilliance in the Basics.

Spiritus Systems 4

SPARTANAT: Where do you come from (military)? Where origins the idea for your Micro Fight System? Was the success of your Micro Fight a surprise for you?

My partner and I were both Infantrymen in the US Army. I guess it’s the classic story of living through too many failures in equipment and wanting to do something about it. The Micro Fight was really a response to a need my partner had while working with the State Department after his time on Active Duty. He needed a rig that was small enough to fit under the seat of a truck, yet carried enough mags and equipment to get through if things became kinetic. Once we saw the first Chassis take shape, we knew that we had something that almost everyone that carries a long gun could use. Whether it’s a cop on an active shooter response team, worn as a placard on a solder’s plate carrier, or for the responsible armed citizen needing something for the range, our kit is flexible and dynamic enough to give them exactly what they’re needing.

Spiritus Systems 5

SPARTANAT: What’s next? I have seen the Bank Robber Chest Rig, maybe a PC? Will you go on on with minimalistic style?

The Bank Robber has been a hit and you should see it populating in many of our resellers’ offerings after the first of the year. As I mentioned earlier, our Plate Carrier line will be launching very soon. We have developed 3 Carriers (NV-119, LV-119, and MT-119) that meet a variety of needs, but you’re going to have to stay tuned to learn more about it. All I can tell you is that the MT-119 will do for Plate Carriers what the Micro Fight has done for chest rigs.

The best way to stay up on what’s going on at Spiritus Headquarters is to follow us on Instagram and Facebook, and be on the lookout for the new hotness dropping early 2018.
