Tactical Response Instructor Has Negligent Discharge Into Student’s Vehicle

Thursday, March 3rd, 2016

An unnamed Tactical Response instructor reportedly had a negligent discharge on 18 February, 2016 at the Sacrememto Valley Shooting Center in California into a student’s truck.

The instructor was attempting to make a point by having all of the students throw their pistols to the ground. He then walked upon them telling the class that they were meant to get dirty and be used as tools. When he stepped on his own pistol, it fired and hit the truck. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Although there was some initial information online, it has taken awhile for it to coalesce after some of it was initially removed from select Internet forums. According to this Yelp! review, the truck got two new tires but a student who asked for a refund after witnessing the incident, was denied.

Then, this post appeared on Cal Guns. It verifies that the incident had in fact happened and details the subsequent actions taken by the gun club where the course took place.

This incident could have easily been avoided.

Enforce Tac – TriTac

Thursday, March 3rd, 2016

This is the TriTac Plate Carrier with the TriMag ammo pouch attached.

The Plate Carrier is offered in Single and Multi curved versions to fit different types of plates but due to the way they cradle the plate with mesh and straps, they can accommodate a variety of cuts and manufacturers. In addition to cable management across the shoulders, they also offer removable padding for both shoulders and torso (front and rear).

The TriMag and MagPouch are the erector sets of magazine pouches. Made from Kydex they can be configured in several ways to carry different magazines. They can also be stacked, one atop another. The magazines are retained via bungee.

The magazine pouches can be attached directly to the Plate Carrier via a tab and slot system. Additionally, they can be configured for PALS compatibility.

To reconfigure the mag carrier for use with pistol magazines, you can insert a shim with two bolts.

The line is offered in Black, Coyote and Olive.

Enforce Tac – Tactical Trim / FibroTex

Thursday, March 3rd, 2016

Tactical Trim is a Berlin company and is displaying their wares in another Berliner’s booth, TAC WRX. Tactical Trim represents the Israeli company FibroTex and their camouflage capabilities are some of the most exciting things I’ve seen at Enforce Tac. Above on the left is the Nightwalker suit which is a lightweight (550g) overgarment that can quickly be donned to provide IR suppression in the 3,000Nm-5,000Nm and 8,000Nm-12,000Nm ranges. It’s also breathable. Below, you can see the face veil made from the same material. To help protect the eyes from detection through the slits, they recommend wearing eye pro.

Offering full spectrum camouflage, FibroTex is vertically integrated. They not only mill their own fabric, but print it as well as manufacturing finished soft goods under the Fightex line which include such items as reversible uniforms.

They offer dual-sided printed fabrics as seen here in this hooped sniper’s hide bivy. Not only will they print different visual patterns but they’ll also use their library of patterns and reflectivity data to offer the correct level of reflectivity in the IR and UV spectrums as well. And that capability may differ per side. Everything they do is bespoke.

They are also displaying a FibroTex Ghillie suit.  The uniform is FR and in the new Dutch pattern.

Hexonia represents several companies in Germany but they also have a few of their own products such as the Scalp.

What sets the Scalp apart from other headborne system suspensions is that this one integrates a knit cap. Now get this, their knits are FR and in the case of the Scalp, the knit blend offers a bit of IR suppression as well.
