Velocity Systems – Variable Width Webbing

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

We ran into Velocity Systems and they showed us something they’ve been working on.

This isn’t an optical illusion or twisted webbing. It is actually woven that way and they are going to integrate it into a wide variety of applications.

ArmorWorks – Modular Plate Carrier

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

Featuring an entirely new material, ArmorWorks’ Modular Plate Carrier eliminates the need for external PALS webbing by integrating laser cut channels. They’ve not only used this technology on the plate carrier itself, but have also extended it to the belt system.

The material is phenomenal. We were unable to tear it even when it was held down with a boot heal and jerked upward.

SOTech Launches Pack Upgrades

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

We have long been fans of SOTech’s Go Pack and now they’ve made a couple of upgrades. For example, they now offer two straps on the Go Pack, Go Bag, and Go Bag Extended.

This allows for some different carry options, adding stability and versatility to switch between a sling bag and a backpack-style carry. Interestingly, the traps overlap and seal when a cross-body bag is desired, or the straps split equally for a comfortable, center-line, backpack carry option. Additionally, they have been internally upgraded and lined with Velcro.

See all of SOTech’s kit in booth #20113 at SHOT Show.

With helmets and their accessories costing more and more it’s no surprise that someone would come with a purpose built bag. FirstSpear’s Helmet Hut accommodates a helmet in a padded compartment and also has zippered storage for goggles, mounts, lights, NVGs and other gear.
