I always enjoy visiting with Håkan Spuhr. He consistently offers up now, innovative products, year after year. This SHOT Show he showed me his Ballistic Adjustment Module designed for use with rifles and machine guns.

It’s a unimount for the Aimpoint M4 and magnifier which adjusts for elevation. That’s right, the mount moves up and down with distance settings found on an ambidextrous knob at the front of the BAM. The 50/200m setting is considered zero and in addition to visible settings there is a tactile “tongue” on the knob to determine zero position.

(null)

While there are 5.56mm (50/200, 400, 600, 800m) and 7.62mm (50/200, 400, 600, 800, 1000m) settings, quantity purchasers can specify custom distance settings.

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

(null)
Blackhawk! introduced the GripBreak Leather Holster at SHOT Show 2015. The idea here is that it’s for the folks who won’t / can’t use the Serpa holster. Instead of your trigger finger to release the pistol, you use your thumb.

SHOT Show – Outdoor Research

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

For some time now, Outdoor Research has been teasing me with news that they were going to bring some of their most popular clothing styles over to the military line with Coyote color. What they unveiled at SHOT Show were several models including this Foray Jacket in Coyote and Black.

(null)

Made from GORE-TEX PACLITE, a two layer laminate with a 50D poly shell. In addition to the flapped front zip it incorporates OR’s TorsoFlo hem-to-bicep zippers for venting. There are two handwarmer pockets (the left doubles as stuff sack) and a single Napoleon pocket on the chest.

(null)

OR also introduced the Drycomp Summit Sack in Coyote as well. I LOVE this bag and have been Jonesing for one in an earth tone for some time. It is made from a lightweight 70D nylon and incorporates a roll top closure as well as daisy chain and ice axe loop. At either side are mesh pockets and compression straps to help manage the load. Padded mesh shoulder straps make this a great summit pack or for use on recces.
