Wilson Combat/Bravo Company BCMGUNFIGHTER 1911

The enhanced grip pattern of Wilson Combat’s X-TAC 1911 has become the standard with hard users who run the 1911 platform in extreme service environments. You can now get this unmatched grip security and styling in a special X-TAC model exclusive to Bravo Company MFG-The BCMGUNFIGHTER 1911.

This outstanding tactical package retains the core features of the X-TAC and adds a tactical light rail and other select performance options that BCM’s experts demanded like the Bullet Proof One Piece Magwell, solid medium trigger and tritium front sight. Wilson’s renowned Armor-Tuff finish was chosen to offer a non-reflective and corrosion resistant finish that can stand up to the most severe global environments. In tandem with the BCMGUNFIGHTER/VZ G-10 grips, the frame’s X-tread pattern locks securely into the firing hand and reduces muzzle flip without snagging on clothes or cover garments.

“Wilson Combat has a legendary history in manufacturing fighting 1911s, and serious hard-use guns are what BCM is all about. We are very excited to collaborate with Wilson on a special gun, built to our specifications with carefully chosen and battle ready options. BCM builds weapon systems that are manufactured to meet the unforgiving needs of law enforcement, military, security and peace keeping professionals in some of the most high stress environments and situations in the world. Forged from a gunfighter’s no-nonsense mindset, we believe the BCMGUNFIGHTER 1911 carries on this tradition in a fighting handgun.”

Sneak Peek – Grey Ghost Gear $10,000 Pack

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

IMG_1419.JPG

I looked at this pack and said, “Tell me about this $10,000 pack here.” After Linsey Lea gave me a dirty look, she told me that its made from Waxed Canvas, which will become distressed as you wear it, adding character. The look will blend in to many an environment.

Based on the Removable Operator Pack, it’s a cool design with a neato laser engraved leather label. I don’t think this pack will actually cost you $10,000 but you’ll look like you’re worth it when you wear it about town.

Both Tactical Tailor and Grey Ghost Gear have a whole slew of new products coming.

SHOT Show – Murdock Webbing

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

SuperFlo SafetT Systems recently came to Murdock Webbing asking for an FR Kevlar webbing with Neoprene that would pass the vertical burn test. Murdock answered the call and the resulting product is the Bunker Boot Mate.

IMG_1386.JPG

The Bunker Boot Mate was created for use by Firefighters. It’s essentially an instep strap used to keep a Firefighter’s pants from riding up in the case he falls through a floor or crawling. Durable and FR? Sounds like something Soldiers could use when wearing FR combat clothing.

SHOT Show – Team Wendy

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

I’ve been following the development of TW’s EXFIL SAR helmets since last Summer and I’ve got to say that I’m impressed with the end product. Available in Tactical and Backcountry models, they meet a variety of standards including European climbing GD and mountaineering as well as white water and US Army ACH blunt impact. They also meet European Industry impact standard. This is Ron Szalkowski, director of product development at TeM Wendy with the range of new EXFIL SAR helmets.

This is pretty sexy. TW is working on a fabric appliqué that will provide camouflage and scratch protection for the EXFIL helmets.

SHOT Show – BAE Systems

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

We recently told you that BAE Systems had developed the first mil certified 12 micron thermal sight. I wanted to show what that difference actually means.

IMG_1383.JPG

To the left is the original 17 micron Universal Thermal Clip-On version XII (UTC XII). To the right is the new 12 micron version. You’re looking at a 30% reduction in objective lens size and a lot less electronics behind it.
