Magpul’s MOE SL-S Stock – New for SHOT Show 2016

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

Coming Late Summer 2016. The New MOE SL-S Stock

The storage-capable version of the flagship Magpul MOE SL™ carbine stock, the MOE SL-S (Storage) Stock is a direct replacement buttstock for AR15/M4 carbines.

The sleek profile, dual-side release latches, and waterproof battery tubes make it the slimmest storage tube stock available. The SL-S provides an enhanced cheek weld and true, O-ring sealed, 10m waterproof storage area desired by many, but fits it into the narrowest package possible to allow a more upright head position and minimize bulk. A rolled toe and angled rubber butt-pad are optimized for use with body armor, and an ambidextrous QD sling swivel socket is included. A unique leaf-spring tension system provides a solid fit on mil-spec receiver extensions, with slightly less friction than the original SL. The MOE SL-S is the most intuitive, comfortable, and efficient storage stock available.

Made in U.S.A.

·Dual-side release latch provides easy adjustment while remaining anti-snag

IWI US Introduces TAVOR SAR in .300 Blackout at 2016 SHOT Show

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., is proud to announce a new caliber for the TAVOR® SAR; the .300 Blackout. The bullpup deemed “Rifle of the Year” by the NRA’s American Rifleman Magazine in 2014 continues to excite the American audience who have embraced the TAVOR SAR and the bullpup concept with open arms. For those who already own a TAVOR® SAR in 5.56 NATO or 9mm, a .300 Blackout conversion kit will also be available.

“We’ve had a ton of requests for this particular caliber as its popularity has grown as a good self-defense round as well as a hunting round,” Michael Kassnar, VP of Sales and Marketing for IWI US explained. “The .300 Blackout is a highly accurate, soft shooting round that is also a very effective hunting round, unlike the lighter more traditional varmint or military calibers. We listened to our customers on Facebook and through our Customer Service Department and this was a round that kept coming up to the top of the wish list. And we listened to our customers express their need for a .300 Blackout rifle that can reliably handle sub-sonic and supersonic loads. The result is an integral gas regulator built into the Tavor barrel that is easily adjustable for sub or supersonic rounds.”

The TAVOR® SAR bullpup configuration offers the short rifle convenience but with a full size rifle’s velocity, energy and accuracy. All of the TAVOR® SAR’s parts are MIL-STD and 100% interchangeable. The 16.5” or 18” .300 Blackout barrel is cold-hammer forged and chrome lined, made from CrMoV steel. The long-stroke gas piston system is also 100% ambidextrous in configuration and operation with an optional opposite hand bolt, and a simple field stripping is all that is needed to quickly and easily break down the TAVOR into two major serviceable subassemblies. MSRP is $ 2,049.00.

The .300 Blackout conversion kit includes a 16.5” or 18” cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel made of CrMoV steel with a 1:7 right hand twist, a headspaced bolt, an A2 flash suppressor and barrel wrench. MSRP is $499.00.

Comments During SHOT Show

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

Alright folks, SHOT Show is just days away. Behavior in the comments section has been less than admirable lately.

Unfortunately, I’ve got to remind a small minority of commenters that they are guests here and should act like appropriately while commenting. The fact that I even have to bring this up annoys me.

Because I will be so busy during SHOT Show writing stories, I won’t have a lot of time to moderate comments. Instead, I’ll go the simple route. Act foolish, I’ll mark you as spam.

Now, what does that mean? Just act normal. If your normal mode is jerk, then there’s going to be a problem.

However, here are a few tips:

-Don’t post something you wouldn’t say to the other person’s face.

-Refrain from the use of profanity.

-Remember you’re a guest. This is a dictatorship. You don’t have any rights of ‘free speech’ here. You want to wild out, do it elsewhere. I hear Facebook is great.

-You aren’t a victim, so don’t act like one. If you get called out, be an adult about it.

-I once dated a woman who was passive aggressive. If you are passive aggressive, I’ll have flashbacks. Don’t give me flashbacks.

-You aren’t a comedian. No really, you aren’t. I’ll be in Vegas. If you were a comedian, you’d be there as well, headlining a show.

-Having reminded you that you aren’t a comedian, yes, there will be some goofy stuff at SHOT which I may share. Yes, you’re going to make fun of it. I understand.

-Typos are going to happen during SHOT Show. Live with them. It will be okay.

-It’s ok to critique a product or company as long as you tell everyone why. “It’s expensive” isn’t a valid reason.

-No one cares that you can’t afford it.

-Don’t call anyone a Nazi or a racial epithet, even if you’d do it to their face.

-Generic comments about milk crates, scooters, booth babes (which are an endangered species), gun bunnies (which aren’t endangered) and hi-points are okay.

-If I tell you to “eat a Snickers” or “take a knee and drink water” just relax. You’ve made your point and the horse is dead, dead, dead.

-This isn’t a challenge

The purge has already begun.
