I know these are wild looking but they are Vibram’s Furokishi footwear. The name comes from the Japanese word “to wrap and carry items with cloth” and that’s exactly what these do. Stretchable wraps extend off of the Vibram rubber sole to secure the fit with Velcro. This high top model is boot height but there are mid and low variants as well. The high top is lined with fleece for cold weather wear.

OR – Granite Gear 223 Pack

Granite Gear introduced the 223 Pack at Summer OR as an in house development. Since then, they’ve gone into production of this American Made Pack for a Japanese distributor. They’ve also refined the design slightly by taking out some of the extra labor steps and better integrating the back panel into the design.
Made from 500D Cordura, it’s a 26liter pack that weighs in at 1lbs 13oz. The 223 also integrates a roll top closure which is a feature I really like. Hopefully, an American distributor will pick it up as well.
OR – Selk’Bag Introduces RealTree Xtra Bags
Thursday, January 7th, 2016Selk’Bag offers sleeping bags you can wear as a garment, complete with arms and legs. They’re also great for sleeping. While they’ve offered eat he tines in the past, this year they are introducing two models in the RealTree Xtra Camo pattern.
The Pursuit model is the lighter of the two and the Instinct will perform down to 21 Deg F. Both use a water resistant micro fiber face fabric to keep the noise down and for comfort. Also, both models are sized M-XXL.

The Steel removes 99.9999% of bacteria and Protozoa for up to 265 gallons. The straw design allows you to drink directly from a water source. What’s more, they added an activated carbon filter which pre filters the water which also removes taste and chemicals. Not only is the new steel case more durable, it’s also recyclable.

Lancer Introduces the L12 Advanced Warfighter MagazineNew Hybrid Magazine Developed for .510 Beck

Quakertown, PA – January 7, 2016 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components engineering company, today announced its new L12 Advanced Warfighter Magazine (AWM), a single stack hybrid magazine engineered for the new .510 Beck cartridge developed by Beck Defense. The L12AWM will be available in both a five round and seven round option. The magazine will debut at SHOT Show(r) 2016 in Lancer’s booth, #7503.
Like all Lancer hybrid magazines, the L12AWM features a lightweight, high strength polymer magazine body with hardened steel feed lips. It is this hybrid design that makes Lancer’s magazines the most reliable magazines in the industry.
The L12AWM is capable of reliably feeding a wide range of projectile weights, from a 327 grain controlled chaos round, to a 680 grain solid brass subsonic round, with future plans to increase projectile weights. The magazine was engineered to handle the relatively short .510 Beck patented brass case loaded with a high grain projectile, giving the 50 caliber round maximum stopping power within a mid-size (.308) AR platform. Further details on the .510 Beck cartridge to be announced by Beck Defense at SHOT Show 2016.
“The L12AWM is the latest evolution in our magazine line, building off of the engineering and design that went into the L5AWM, L7AWM and SIG Sauer(r) MPX hybrid magazines,” explained Kas McManus, business area manager of advanced weapons & components at Lancer. “We’re proud to partner with Beck Defense on this project and introduce a hybrid magazine for the .510 Beck cartridge that is unlike anything else out there.”
The L12AWM will be available third quarter 2016.

Sneak Peek – LBT / 2VetsArms Raffle at SHOT Show
