Lancer Introduces the L12 Advanced Warfighter MagazineNew Hybrid Magazine Developed for .510 Beck

Thursday, January 7th, 2016

Quakertown, PA – January 7, 2016 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components engineering company, today announced its new L12 Advanced Warfighter Magazine (AWM), a single stack hybrid magazine engineered for the new .510 Beck cartridge developed by Beck Defense. The L12AWM will be available in both a five round and seven round option. The magazine will debut at SHOT Show(r) 2016 in Lancer’s booth, #7503.

Like all Lancer hybrid magazines, the L12AWM features a lightweight, high strength polymer magazine body with hardened steel feed lips. It is this hybrid design that makes Lancer’s magazines the most reliable magazines in the industry.

The L12AWM is capable of reliably feeding a wide range of projectile weights, from a 327 grain controlled chaos round, to a 680 grain solid brass subsonic round, with future plans to increase projectile weights. The magazine was engineered to handle the relatively short .510 Beck patented brass case loaded with a high grain projectile, giving the 50 caliber round maximum stopping power within a mid-size (.308) AR platform. Further details on the .510 Beck cartridge to be announced by Beck Defense at SHOT Show 2016.

“The L12AWM is the latest evolution in our magazine line, building off of the engineering and design that went into the L5AWM, L7AWM and SIG Sauer(r) MPX hybrid magazines,” explained Kas McManus, business area manager of advanced weapons & components at Lancer. “We’re proud to partner with Beck Defense on this project and introduce a hybrid magazine for the .510 Beck cartridge that is unlike anything else out there.”

The L12AWM will be available third quarter 2016.

Lancer Systems – Notice of Possible L5AWM Compatibility Issue

Friday, May 29th, 2015

We just received this note from Lancer Systems.

May 29, 2015

To Our Customers:

If you recently purchased an L5AWM magazine, it may contain a non-conforming follower. The non-conforming followers, which were manufactured below the allowable limit of tolerance, could fail to lock the bolt back after the last round has been fired in a small percentage of rifle platforms.

I sincerely apologize that you may have received anything less than a 100% reliable Lancer product. If you purchased a L5AWM magazine with a follower date code of March 2015 (3/15), we will send you a replacement follower free of charge. You can check your follower’s date code to verify the manufacture date. See procedure for determining the date code and assembly on our website. Replacements will be processed via email. Please email Lancer directly for a replacement at and include the following information: Retailer, Date of purchase, Quantity of followers that need replaced, and your shipping address. For additional questions, please call 610.973.2644.

The reliability of our L5AWMs, and every product we engineer and manufacture, is our absolute highest priority. We’ve corrected this manufacturing issue and have taken specific steps to ensure our followers always meet the highest standards so our customers can continue to fully trust their Lancer magazines.

If you have questions about our L5AWM magazines, or any Lancer product, please contact us; we’re listening. We want to know how we can improve and bring you the best, most reliable weapons and components available.

Warrior West – Lancer One-Piece Adaptive Magwell

Thursday, April 30th, 2015

Last Fall, I visited Lancer’s facility in Quakertown, Pennsylvania and of the numerous products they showe me, my favorite was the Adaptive Magwell because it is a relatively low cost add-on that makes it easier to change magazines on the AR platform due to its flare that funnels the magazine into the Magwell.  Like it or not, the U.S. Military is going to stick with the M16 lower receiver for the foreseeable future.  Because the lower is the gun, we can’t change its gemoetry.  But, the Magwell Adapter allows you to enlarge and bevel the Magwell of virtually any mil-spec M16-style lower.

The one-piece is a modification of the original, commercially offered two-piece version that the U.S. Army expressed interest in.  It comes with two silicone gaskets that are used while mounting the adapter in Oder to take any play out of the fit.  You use the one that fits better.
The Magwell Adapter is held fast by clipping into the trigger guard which is opened with the use of a cartridge tip.  The Magwell Adapter incorporates an alternate attachment for the trigger guard which also serves to open the trigger area up a bit for those wearing hand wear.

Once again, this modification to an AR lower requires no permanent alterations to the weapon and makes it easier to accomplish magazine changes.
