SOFIC 19 – 300 PRC Gas Gun Proof Of Concept by CMC Triggers

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019

With DoD interest in 300 PRC for use as a Precision fire cartridge, CMC Triggers wondered if it could be used in a gas operated rifle. So far, all of the weapons to fire this cartridge have been bolt guns.

This is a sneak peek of the proof of concept CMC put together. Based on an AR design, they wanted to see if it could be done and how it would impact the accessories they make, like triggers and bolt carrier groups. They have no plans to place this into production.

ABOUT PRINCETON TEC

Princeton Tec is a family owned and operated manufacturer that is passionately committed to providing leading-edge soldier systems solutions and equipment for mission critical military and tactical use worldwide. Our integrated, modular equipment is engineered to answer the needs of modern operators. The commitment and dedication to the success and safety of the end users of our products inspires a passionate and energetic work environment. It binds Princeton Tec together as a unit that moves as one and makes Princeton Tec a truly unique and dynamic team.

In 1975 our founder, Bill Stephens, left his job as an engineer to carve his own way. Bill, an avid scuba diver, began to design and build products to keep scuba divers safe underwater. Shortly after starting Princeton Tec, Bill began building dive lights and the company grew from there. Additional divisions were added beyond dive (outdoor, industrial and tactical) but the main goal stays the same: produce high quality, intuitively designed products to help keep people safe while they work or pursue their passions. Princeton Tec has continued to do this, all while remaining family owned and operated, keeping manufacturing in the United States, and employing a local workforce.

We first supplied the U.S. military with underwater strobe lights for Navy SEAL training swims. In the early 2000’s we introduced the Quad Tactical and EOS Tactical headlamp to fit the needs of the U.S. military. Shortly after we began to design our MPLS lights, designed specifically for tactical users. Today, we create both standard and custom products for law enforcement, first responders, military and other everyday heroes. From MPLS task lights to compact headlamps, these lights need to perform in even the most demanding environments – every single time. We take pride in serving the people who make our world a safer place.

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019

With Aerospace, Julbo has created the first goggle that works just as well when climbing as it does hurtling down the mountain. A great all-rounder when ski touring on deployment or during down time.

The Aerospace features the SuperFlow System, where the lens can be easily pushed forward (even when wearing gloves) for better heat management and prevention of fogging when climbing or after any exertion, while remaining perfectly protected from the sun’s rays.

Add to that the very best Julbo technologies including, the minimalist frame, a super-slim frame to give extra-wide field of vision from every angle. The skier’s view is completely clear both laterally and vertically. The Aerospace has dual soft foam for optimum comfort and shock absorption with a soft touch layer for softer contact with skin and its full silicone strap provides a perfect grip.

Aerospace is available with all the Julbo photochromic technical lenses and has two loops either side of the strap for symmetrical adjustment in the blink of an eye. Added to this the Aerospace’s protective peak and axis strap system, makes it the ideal ski touring goggle for all those who want a maximum of ventilation during a great day’s skiing and no misting during breaks.

PS Magazine Reminds You To Protect Your M320 Sight

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019

PS, the US Army’s Preventive Maintenance Monthly has this reminder:

Too many M320A1 grenade launcher sight supports are being cracked or broken. The only fix is to order the entire leaf sight assembly kit, NSN 1005-01-564-2663, for $55. And sometimes it can take a long time to get the kit.

But much of this damage is preventable if Soldiers and armorers just exercise a little care. The most critical thing to remember is don’t stack anything on top of an M320A1!

In the arms room, armorers often store M320A1s on shelves and then pile equipment on top, including other grenade launchers. Laying grenade launchers on shelves is fine. Just don’t put anything on top of them.

Same thing goes for trips to the field. Don’t pile equipment on M320A1s and don’t let them bounce around in the back of a truck. A good investment is a sturdy container for transport that protects launchers from equipment and feet. You can probably find containers around the unit that will work.
