Delivering up to 5,300 lumens and an extraordinary beam reach, the rechargeable system comes with a charge cord and two Streamlight SL-B48® Li-Ion rechargeable battery packs with an integrated USB-C charge port. The new light also features a convenient head-mounted, push-button switch, an anti-roll face cap and a sure-grip rubber sleeve.

“The ProTac HL 6 is like a handheld flood light, allowing users to see all around them while also providing a powerful beam reach to put more light on a target at a distance,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer, Michael F. Dineen. “It’s the ideal light for first responders, outdoor enthusiasts, industrial technicians and other users, whether performing room clearing, lighting an outdoor path or troubleshooting repairs under low-light conditions. It also is powered by convenient and cost-saving rechargeable batteries.”

The ProTac HL 6 uses the latest in power LED technology for extreme brightness. Its multi-function, easy-access head switch allows for one-handed operation of the light’s momentary, variable intensity, or strobe modes. On the high setting, it delivers 5,300 lumens and 80,000 candela over 566 meters. On medium, it offers 1,500 lumens, 23,000 candela and a 303-meter beam distance. On low, the light provides 450 lumens and 6,700 candela over 164 meters. Run time ranges from 12 hours and 30 minutes on low to two hours on high; in strobe mode, the light runs for four hours.

The new light features TEN-TAP® programming, which allows for user selection from among three programs: high/strobe/low (factory default); high only; or low/medium/high.

The ProTac HL 6 is powered by two included 5000mAh SL-B48 protected Li-Ion USB-C rechargeable battery packs which are rechargeable up to 500 times.

Fabricated from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, the new light features an anti-roll face cap, and a textured rubber sleeve and lanyard to ensure a tight grip. It has a gasket-sealed glass lens with an anti-reflective coating.

The ProTac HL 6 measures 10.5 inches in length and weighs 1.3 pounds with two SL-B48 rechargeable batteries. It is rated IPX7, making it waterproof to one meter for 30 minutes. The light is also impact resistance-tested to one meter.

Available in black, the light comes in two models, the ProTac HL 6 with a 120V USB adapter or the ProTac HL 6 without an adapter. The two models have MSRPs of $265.38 and $247.78, respectively. Both ship with two SL-B48 Li-Ion battery packs, a USB-C “Y” cord and lanyard, and come with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

C&H Precision Family of Companies Completes Acquisition of Paragon Weapon Light Cleaner

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. – July 1, 2024 – C&H Family of Companies is thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of Paragon, a highly regarded firearms cleaning solution company based in Florida. The entity also owns C&H Precision, a prominent player in the firearms industry, and will continue to look for strategic acquisitions in the same and adjacent markets.

In August 2023, C&H Companies acquired a majority stake in Paragon from its founding members, initiating a strategic partnership designed to enhance the capabilities and market presence of both companies. As of June 2024, C&H Companies has completed the acquisition and assumes full ownership of Paragon.

“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our ongoing growth and expansion within the firearms sector,” said Buck Holly, Founder & CEO of C&H Precision Family of Companies. “We are eager to integrate Paragon’s innovative products and expertise into our operations, which will undoubtedly strengthen our market position and enhance our ability to serve our customers.”

The full acquisition of Paragon underscores C&H Companies’ commitment to broadening its product offerings and sharpening its competitive edge. Customers and partners can expect a continued commitment to excellence in both service and product quality.

C&H Companies broke ground on its new home in Bryan County, Ga. in March of 2024. The facility in the city of Richmond Hill will span 50,000 square feet, create up to 60 jobs and become a place for the community to gather. All Paragon operations will operate out of the C&H Companies headquarters upon completion of the complex.

In plans released earlier, the C&H Companies campus will include state of the art manufacturing, indoor shooting ranges for the public and law enforcement, a retail store with Federal Firearms License, a sandwich and coffee shop and more. This multi-use facility will not only increase C&H Companies’ manufacturing and design capacity to support its growing business needs, but it will increase the company’s involvement and contributions to the local community.

Introducing OMNISCIENCE, the AI Takeover by OKSI

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024

I’ve been looking into the implications of Artificial Intelligence at the tactical edge just ran across this video from my friends at OKSI. It gives you some key points on what they are phrasing as the “AI takeover by OKSI.”

We’ve been talking for awhile now and between SOF Week and a recent telecon with OKSI SMEs, I excited about the enhancements offered by OMNISCIENCE to a wide variety of existing systems with AI, meaning operators and analysts alike will make faster and more accurate decisions.

It’s not a takeover in the science fiction sense. You’re not replacing any hardware and you’re not enabling autonomous systems. Instead, it’s adding software capability with OMNISCIENCE integration to do everything faster and better with what you already have.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks as dive into AI/ML OMNISCIENCE technologies by OKSI with weekly coverage. In the meantime, visit oksi.ai.

US Army Announces Terrestrial Layer System – Brigade Combat Team (TLS BCT) Manpack Contract Award

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD – The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) recently awarded a contract to Mastodon Design LLC in the amount of $99,991,845 for the procurement, training, and fielding of the Terrestrial Layer System – Brigade Combat Team (TLS BCT) Manpack system.

“The efforts to demonstrate, test, and rapidly procure a COTS-based product significantly accelerated the procurement timeline and will result in early capability to the field starting this year. The TLS BCT Manpack is a mature, well-adopted system that will make a significant contribution to winning the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) fight,” said Ken Strayer, Project Manager Electronic Warfare and Cyber (PM EW&C). After successful prototyping and operational demonstration with Soldier touch points, the TLS BCT Manpack program received approval to transition into Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) Rapid Fielding with a first unit issued planned in 2024.

The TLS BCT Manpack system is a tailorable, modular, terrestrial capability that allows the integration of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) collection, processing, exploitation, reporting, and effects capabilities within the SIGINT Collection Team (SCT) and Electromagnetic Warfare Team (EWT) elements. It provides the Brigade Combat Team (BCT) Commander a tactical advantage with a robust state-of-the-art mobile EW capability for Multi-Domain Operations (MDO). The fully configurable system can conduct radio frequency (RF) surveying, signals collection and direction-finding operations, electromagnetic attack and force protection operations, and EMS visualization and scanning/surveying operations.

Thermal Augmentation Device Update: Available for Preorder!

Monday, July 1st, 2024

Redlands, California—

TNVC and Safran Defense & Space, Inc. (Safran DSI), formerly Safran Optics 1, are excited to announce the release of the Thermal Augmentation Device (TAD), one of the most exciting new products in the Visual Augmentation Systems space—and available now for Pre-Order exclusively through TNVC!

tnvc.com/shop/safrandsi-tad-thermal-augmentation-device

Production units are rolling off the line now with the first commercial deliveries occurring by August! These initial units are available for Pre-Order at an introductory price of $6,500 and available with multiple bracket options, including PVS-14-based optical lens assemblies, the L3Harris BNVD (PVS-31) and GPNVG, and Elbit/EOTECH/Theon AN/PVS-31D (additional options available).

TAD is based on the AN/PAS-29B Enhanced Clip-On Thermal Imager (ECOTI), and is a small, lightweight system that clips on to almost any existing Night Vision Goggle system. TAD creates an instant thermal fusion capability without any permanent modification to the device or system by projecting a thermal overlay into the intensified image, providing the user with superior detection, situational awareness and identification capabilities compared to using an I2 or thermal system by itself.

At only 90 grams (including the mounting bracket and internal battery), TAD is smaller and lighter than the AN/PAS-29B ECOTI, while featuring an improved 672 x 544 10 µm uncooled LWIR microbolometer sensor while retaining the ECOTI’s 30o circular field of view (FOV), allowing users to detect moving man-sized signatures atup to 250M depending on conditions. TAD is also backwards compatible with most existing legacy AN/PAS-29A (COTI) and ECOTI mounting brackets.

TAD allows users to upgrade their existing systems to obtain and employ fusion capabilities at a low cost, without needing to purchase and field an entirely new goggle system. While dedicated systems and even systems like the ECOTI offer a tremendous range of capabilities, particularly with ATAK and other Augmented Reality integration capabilities, not all users may need them. TAD offers a “no frills” fusion at 40% less cost, making it ideal for commercial and law enforcement customers who simply want the thermal detection capabilities withoutneeding to use a secondary device like a handheld thermal monocular or having to pay for unused features.

“I2 / Thermal Fusion is becoming THE standard for headborne Visual Augmentation Systems,” notes TNVC COO, Augee Kim. “With devices like the ENVG-B and SBNVG becoming standardized across close combat formations across the DoD, I2 / Thermal Fusion offers a significant edge to users in extreme low light conditions and heavily wooded or shaded areas, including subterranean operations, as we begin to face adversaries with their own night vision capabilities.”

TAD, created and manufactured by Safran DSI, is available exclusively at TNVC.com for Pre-Order with commercial deliveries expected to begin by August!
