Fortress Clothing’s Hybrid Hoodie was born of a simple idea: take the ‘best’ features of a jacket and hoodie and merge them together. To this end, they created a garment that is comfortable across a ~70 degree temperature range, and is wind resistant, retains body heat, and evacuates moisture.

G-Code Scorpion Softshell

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

Today, G-Code announced the release of its brand new Scorpion Softshells, cable retention tool pouches built for rifle and pistol magazines, although they also accommodate other items such as lights and multi-tools. The full release can be read below:

01

Rifle. Pistol. Multi-tool. Flashlight. It all fits.

Versatile, capable and light-weight, the G-Code Scorpion Softshell is a tool pouch built specifically for rifle and pistol magazine retention and manipulation. A design that makes the task of reloads under stress or in a lull as instinctive as the gesture of pointing.

Cable Management. Magazine Retention.

A molded exoskeleton manages and protects the binding cord, minimizing wear and mitigating the potential for snags in turbulent environments.

The front “torsion plate” directs pressure from the binding cord down, forcing positive contact of the inner friction surface to the length of the magazine, with room to regulate the tension up or down.

Finally, the cross bars of the plate allow for Scorpion Softshell pistol pouches to be stacked on a rifle pouch, giving the end user total control of their fighting configuration.

Built for Speed

Weighing in at just 3.3 ounces*, the Scorpion Soft Shell is among the lightest available today. The super-tough Nylon frame components and the Santoprene molded Soft-Shell are rugged, durable and are moisture proof.

A flared opening guides a consistent, clean draw from and insertion to the pouch, while the inner surface retains the magazine firmly whether the end user is in motion or at rest.

* plus platform specific mounting hardware

Reaper

One Size Fits All

The G-Code Scorpion Softshell rifle pouches accept all AR type magazines, .308 variants as well as those built for Kalashnikov type rifles. Pistol pouches will, likewise, retain both double stack and single stack magazines.

Available as either a standard or speed cut, the G-Code Scorpion Soft-Shell pistol mag carriers provides the end user every option to best interface with the rest of their equipment.

In the Family

Launching with the Scorpion Soft-Shell series are G-Code’s new, patent pending, “R-series” and “P-series” interfaces. The R-2 and P-2 clips deliver a phenomenally stable and dependable mounting system that is designed specifically to interface with G-Code’s “Operator belt”. Likewise, R-1 and P-1 clips with PALS platforms (body armor, belt) and R-3 and P-3 clips with most other belt systems.

The modular back panel, integral to every G-Code pouch, also allows the Scorpion Softshell line to dock with the entire family of G-Code accessories.

Made in the USA

Available in black, coyote tan, green and gray as well as a series of custom color pairing designed to match camouflage offerings in use by the US Military, Law Enforcement and our allies.

Each G-Code Scorpion Soft-Shell pouch is backed not only by G-Code’s Life-Time Warranty, but the Company’s reputation for quality.

Rumor Mill – Smith & Wesson M2.0 Found In Trademark Filings

Thursday, August 18th, 2016

webcontent

If you do a search on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website for Smith & Wesson, you’ll notice a series of trademark filings from this year for something called M2.0 (featuring the above logo) for various goods and services, including gun cases, airsoft, and apparel, all with ‘Published for Opposition’ dates throughout this month. Now, you may be wondering, why is this of any interest?

With the recent reveal of the Glock 17M and the subsequent rumors of the Glock GEN 5, it should come as no surprise that other firearm companies are looking at releasing updated models to their pistol lines. It looks like this is the case with Smith & Wesson, who it seems is planning on releasing their own upgraded M&P model pistol.

A source who wishes to remain anonymous told us the new pistol line is to be dubbed M2.0. M2.0 is a response to criticisms of the original M&P series pistols, and is designed with a host of features that will allow the M&P series to better compete with stock Glocks. Our source cited changes to the design, including an improved trigger and full-length guide rails, intended to increase overall functionality, reliability, and out-the-box accuracy.

We feel it’s only fair to note that although we do trust our source this is a second-hand account, and until any official news/documentation comes out this info should be treated as speculation and rumor. That being the case, in all likelihood we’ll hear more about M2.0 as SHOT 2017 draws nearer, so stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.

Autonomous Alloys – Digital Steel Smart Target System On Indiegogo

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

target

Back in late June, we featured a release on Autonomous Alloys and their Digital Steel Smart Target System. The full details are in the original article, but for a quick refresher: the Autonomous Alloys targets are intended for use with pistol caliber and rimfire cartridges, featuring a magnetic reset and multi-colored backlit light bar for shooter feedback, as well as an onboard wireless system which lets multiple targets sync up for a variety of programmable training and game modes.

Since then, Autonomous Alloys has set up a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, which at the time of writing has amassed over 140% of its stated $100,000 minimum funding goal. While the project has met its goal, there’s still plenty of time, if this project interests you, to support it.
