Part 2 of 3: Meet Suzabelle

Suzabelle is the name Draper Kauffman gave the 500lb Japanese bomb he defused following the bombing of Pearl Harbor. No one (U.S. that is) had ever seen this type of ordnance before prior to Kauffman defusing and dismantling the bomb for intelligence. He was awarded his 1st Navy Cross for the operation.

Suzabelle, the Pin-Up Girl, was commissioned in honor of Kauffman’s remarkable exploits.

Princeton Tec has developed a solution for their lights which helps to alleviate “rail estate” issues on ballistic helmets such as those from Team Wendy, Ops-Core, and Crye. The Princeton Tec Helmet Mount is a simple-yet-effective nylon piece which is placed behind the helmet rail, and allows users to relocate their lights above the rail, freeing up space for other accessories.

Australian Army – 3 RAR Basic Reconnaissance Course 2014 Video

The Australian Army 3rd Brigade released a video highlighting the Royal Australian Regiment ‘Old Faithful’ – 3 RAR Basic Reconnaissance Course. Conducted from November 3rd through December 12th, 2014, the intent of the course was to qualify Soldiers to become Reconnaissance Patrolmen. During the course, Soldiers trained with assets including MRH 90, PMV, and small boats organic to 3 RAR.

Black Canyon Labs – BCL SGS3 – Shotgun Safety Selector Switch

The SGS3 – Shotgun Safety Selector Switch is a drop-in part which replaces the traditional cross bolt safety found on many shotguns with a 90 degree selector switch safety similar to many modern sporting rifles or military service weapons. Black Canyon Labs developed the SGS3 to allow shooters to maintain the muscle memory of manipulating the safety on an M4 rifle when transitioning to a shotgun.

The SGS3 can be configured for left hand, right hand, or ambidextrous use with the included dual side paddles. Its design requires the use of a pistol grip shotgun, which further reemphasizes the muscle memory and weapon manipulation of the M4 platform.

Variants of the SGS3 are currently available for Remington and Benelli shotguns, although other brands and models are planned for the future.
