Qore Performance launches CATAMARAN (Universal MOLLE Plate Carrier Ventilation Adapter Panel)

Knoxville, TN — Wearing a plate carrier can be oppressively hot and uncomfortable. Any gear that keeps bullets out naturally also traps heat in. One of the few ways to find necessary relief is to get air flowing between your body and the plate carrier, but getting that airflow to be constant and persistent without lowering your defenses is a huge challenge. It’s a challenge for manufacturers as well; very few plate carriers today are built with any type of stand-off ventilation capability (our ICEPLATE EXO® is one of a few exceptions). Instead, many manufacturers use dense foams and other inferior technologies like spacer mesh to provide a soft feel – but which trap heat and retain moisture.

ICEVENTS® Classic Plate Carrier Ventilation Pontoons facilitate air flow and eliminate hot spots between your carrier, your armor plates, and your torso. But up to this point, they haven’t been compatible with most carriers, as they required plate bags equipped with loop Velcro fields on the interior face (a small number of carriers have this feature) or plate carriers that were modified with aftermarket sewn-on Velcro loop (a heavy, if sometimes impossible, lift). Today, that changes with the launch of our all-new CATAMARAN Universal MOLLE Plate Carrier Ventilation Adapter Panel. CATAMARAN brings the magic of our ICEVENTS® Classic Plate Carrier Ventilation Pontoons to every MOLLE-equipped plate carrier on the market today (and even some that are not equipped with MOLLE).

Introducing The New S.O.Tech Laser Cut Tactical Symbology Patches

A Modern Twist On A S.O.Tech Original

S.O.Tech has new additions to their full line of tactical symbology which now include a modern twist on a S.O.Tech original. We have been making our embroidered symbology patches for about 15 years now. Therefore, we are pleased to announce our new laser cut tactical symbology patches. They were designed as a Mil Std 2525C supplement to accurately represent specialized job functions at the individual level. Originally, because S.O.Tech’s line of bags (Mission Go Bag and Mission Pack) were so multi-functional, they needed an identifier so the operator could easily determine what was inside the bag. Our bags were being used to hold sniper gear, medical gear, breacher gear, and commo gear. So, during a medical emergency, we created the medical patch so you could tell that pack from the others. SOCOM and USASOC allowed us to include these patches on our bags and patches throughout the GWOT, so you’ve probably seen them across the spectrum.

S.O.Tech has also adapted the symbols for use on patches which can be worn to designate various functions at the small unit level, whether on the pack or on a person. This can be an excellent way to identify special skills-centric gear to cut through the “fog of war” during chaotic situations. The new line of laser cut patches include Medic, Rifleman, Grenadier, Light Machine Gunner, and Heavy Machine Gunner.

We have two different variations of our patches. The first option being a IR honeycomb reflective and the second option being an IR only.

FS Friday Focus – Vertical Envelopment Pack

The VEP (Vertical Envelopment Pack) is a top-opening, roll-closure pack that is secured by tubes, making it an ideal pack for insertion and extraction operations. It can be mounted on FirstSpear Plate Carriers and flipped over the head for quick access to the contents inside. The front hanging feature also provides additional safety and comfort during infiltration when seated in armored vehicles and helicopters. The SOCOMRC3 Suppressor from SureFire

I can attest, like the title of this video claims, it offers low back pressure without compromise. I never got even a whiff of exhaust from back pressure. AUSA 23 – GORE-TEX Heritage Wall

GORE-TEX manufacturers W.L. Gore & Assoc celebrated 45 years of working with the US Army with their heritage wall. They dug back into their archives to showcase Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System, Gen II ECWCS, and Gen III ECWCS as well as some footwear including the Matterhorn boot which was popular as both an issue and private purchase item.

This timeline includes some wave top events in Gore’s relationship with the US Army.
