Wednesday, January 18th, 2017During Range Day we mentioned the production version of the Tactical Augmented Pressure Switch. To clarify, there are two variants and externally both look the same because they have the same basic functionality.
The TAPS mounts to M-Lok, KeyMod and Pic rail and includes 7″ SureFire/Insight or 7″ Insight/Insight leads. Once again, it requires a 2032 battery for constant on, but even without it, momentary still works. The only difference from the base model and the TAPSpro is that the pro model is programmable. Consequently, there’s a difference in price. The TAPS is $139 and TAPSpro is $239. Considering other switches are more expensive (and not programmable) that’s not a bad price. Plus, TAPS is 100% Made in USA. Additionally, the switches are available in FDE and Black.
These have been manufactured. The products will be loaded on the website and begin shipping next week.

SHOT Show 17 – Winkler Knives II
Wednesday, January 18th, 2017It was great to see Daniel and Karen out from the bowels of the basement and out on the show floor with the other tactical brands. ABS Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler showed me several new models, but I’m going to share the Walker Spike with you now.
The inspiration for the name obviously came from the popular TV show, “The Walking Dead” and was designed for one simple task; to ventilate someone if they get into a grapple with you, in order to get them off of you far enough to engage by other means. Made from 80CRV2, it features a leather wrapped handle and comes with a Kydex sheath.
Additionally, the Emergency Response Tool, released at The Blade Show, has received a slight update. Daniel added a glassbreaker to the rear of the head.

SHOT Show 17 – ZEV Technologies Single Stage Rifle Trigger
Wednesday, January 18th, 2017Designed for use with AR-style weapons, this is the new SSR Trigger from ZEV Technologies. The trigger’s engagement, over travel and rest can be adjusted and are the adjustments are made under detention so no loktite is required to make sure they don’t drift.
Each trigger ships with both 3 to 3.5 or 5 to 5.5 lbs pull weight springs so the shooter can choose. The SSR trigger also features a PVD, TiCN Copper coating. Finally, the trigger bow has been extended to allow the pad of the finger to more easily find its natural firing position.

SHOT Show 17 – Team Wendy Exfil Gen II

The Exfil Gen II offers a 20% weight reduction at Level IIIA protection. Additionally, it retains the same frag and BFD spec as the original helmet.
The helmet also features a new shroud from Wilcox. You can see the new version to the left, compared to the right.
Finally, the Gen II rail, offers a new geometry to both save weight and provide an attachment point for a forthcoming visor. This new rail is also backward compatible to the original message.

Developed in conjunction with Leupold for elements of USSOCOM, it is the first Leupold approved mounting solution for the Delta Point Pro. Made from 300 series stainless steel, it allows the shooter to easily switch between the irons and DPP. Obviously, it’s also designed to work seemlessly with ZEV’s proprietary slide cut.
