AUSA – Spuhr AB Introduces Production QDP Mounts To Their Line

Tuesday, October 4th, 2016

At SHOT Show, Spuhr exhibited pre-production versions of their new Quick Detach Picatinny series. The mounts have the same layout as their standard mounts. However, they’ve moved the side clamp from the right side to the left to avoid spent round ejection as well as any right side mounted controls.

In case you were wondering, this is the Spuhr QDP 4002 which offers 34mm tube compatibility and 1.5″ from centerline to top of Picatinny rail and no tilt. It’s shipping now, but additional models are coming.

One other difference is that they moved the logo on the QDP series in order to accommodate Spuhr interface holes for accessory mounting.

Spuhr AB products are available for unit and agency orders through Quantico Tactical.

Monday, October 3rd, 2016

This is the new PICO DS Chest RACK from TYR Tactical. It was designed specifically for use with their PICO DS but it can also be run independently with an H Harness. For those who want extra security for their magazines, they’ve included optional bungees.

Additionally, it also capacity for two pistol mags (pouch is magnetic) and two GP Pouches, one of which will hold an M67 and the other is a bit larger at 4″x5″ for med/signal/SERE needs.

The spacer mesh at the rear is removable and the RACK can be attached via Velcro. However, the SR four buckles hold it in place pretty well.

AUSA – Trijicon Machine Gun Reflex Sight

Monday, October 3rd, 2016

The Trijicon Machine Gun Reflex Sight has been popping up out there for awhile, but it’s now officially released at AUSA. Think of it as an RMR on steroids.

At 5.22″ tall, 8.78″ long and 4.17″ wide this isn’t some tiny reflex sight. It is 66.9 oz with battery and mount.  The glass is 2″ x 3″ and incorprates a 35 MOA segmented circle around a 3 MOA dot reticle. It’s uses a single CR123A, made from 7075-T6 Aluminum and waterproof to 6.6′.

The MGRS offers ranging knobs for the M2 and M240 which can be easily swapped out. For adjustment there is 100 MOA of azimuth and elevation. They are suggesting customers use the AN/PAS-13 mount.

Additionally, they’ve integrated a mounting option for a 3x magnifier into the housing. The magnifier is articulating and can be swung in and out of battery. There are no buttons to push or levers to pull. The magnifier locks into place and it takes a good bit of force to move it from one position to another. It can be mounted to the side Picatinny Rail mounting point. The MGRs sports three of these Pic rail mounting points.
