Marine South – High Speed Gear Range/Go Bag

The Range/Go Bag from High Speed Gear is made from 1000D Cordura and not incorprates PALS webbing on the outside of the bag but on the inside as well along with Velcro to allow customization by the user.

5 rows x 10 slots of Molle on sides of bag allow for external attachment of accessory pouches
Reinforced webbing handle on each side for bag for hand carry
D-rings on 8 corners for shoulder or back pack strap attachment
Shoulder strap made from 1.5” webbing
Stiffener sewn in the bottom of the bag allows for self-standing feature
Reverse zipper opens to bottom of bag allowing maximum access to equipment
Internal pockets on each side of the bag
Internal loop molle, 4 rows x 10 slots allows for attachment of hook backed or molle pouches

GSS Announces Corporate HQ Move To Florida, Closure of Va Beach Pro Shop

Friday evening, GSS Gear sent out an email outlining their plan to move their corporate Headquarters to the vicinity of Fort Walton Beach, Florida which is close to Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB and home to AFSOC, the EOD School, Florida Ranger Camp and 7th Special Forces Group. GSS also announced it planned to close their pro shop on Virginia Beach’s Laskin Road.

Huron Hot Weather Uniform and Boonie in OD Now Available from TYR Tactical

The Huron Hot Weather Uniform consists of pants, blouse and boonie hat.

The Hot Weather Uniform from TYR Tactical’s Huron line is made from an ultra comfortable 3.6oz 100% ripstop nylon. This fabric feels like you took an old set of jungle fatigues and washed them a bunch of times. TYR initially had the OD fabric but their supply was quickly sold out to a government customer but now it’s back in stock and I can’t wait to get my hands on a set.

In addition to the Ripstop nylon as a base, they use 4-way stretch tweave, poly mesh, and 4-way stretch polyester with X-Static® technology. The materials are also treated with No Fly Zone® and MCS® Blocker, to provide sun protection. Additionally, they’ve added X-Static® for anti-microbial, no odor and no static cling.

Overall there’s plenty of venting built into this fast drying hot weather uniform.

Marine South – Ops-Core Updates Skullcrusher

I’ve been using the Ops-Core Skullcrusher for many years when I require Night Vision but I don’t need a helmet, for example, while hunting. It’s much more comfortable than the old headsets issued with the PVS-7s and 14s because it is well padded and offers several points of adjustment. Additionally, it incorporates rails at each side and has accommodation for a counterweight.

Recently, they updated the design by no longer molding the shroud plate directly into the Skullcrusher but rather offering a three hole design that will accommodate their mount or three hole mounts from other companies such as Wilcox.

Now shipping the Magpul “Dispatch Tee” inspired by the WW2 era when electronic communication was unsecure and at times unreliable, using “dispatch riders” was the most effective way to deliver orders, reports and maps between units. These brave riders faced machine gun fire, artillery attacks and hazardous trail conditions, in some cases deep behind enemy lines. An example of what it might have been like is featured in this excerpt from “Adventures of a Dispatch Rider” By British Army Capt. W.H.L. Watson.

“Then came two and a half miles of winding country lanes. They were covered with grease. Every corner was blind. A particularly sharp turn to the right and the dispatch rider rode a couple of hundred yards in front of a battery in action that the Germans were trying to find. A “hairpin” corner round a house followed. This he would take with remarkable skill and alacrity, because at this corner he was always sniped. Into the final straight the dispatch rider rode for all he was worth. It was un-pleasant to find new shell-holes just off the road each time you passed, or, as you came into the straight, to hear the shriek of shrapnel between you and the farm.”
