Sneak Peek – Tac Denim by Origin USA

Origin USA, based in Farmington, Maine founded by Pete Roberts and co-owned with Navy Seal Jocko Willink, has been developing a tactical denim in collaboration with Mike Glover of Fieldcraft Survival and they are getting closer to a release date targeting Spring 2024.  The cotton was grown in Texas. The denim was milled in Georgia and the pants are being sewn in North Carolina. 100% Made in America with American hands.

Varusteleka – Särmä TST L5 Thermal Patrol Coverall

During a meeting over coffee with Varusteleka, they showed me the Särmä TST L5 Thermal Patrol Coverall.

It is an update to a popular Finnish Army issue item which was designed in the mid-80s and used when in static positions like guard duty and lying up in an OP.

It features dual front zippers and two side leg zips for easy donning and doffing. The front zippers also allow venting and integration with plate carriers and chest rigs.

It is made from 100% polyamide ripstop (70g/m2) with a non-fluorinated water-repellent treatment in the Finnish M05 winter camo print. The coverall is also insulated with 67g/m2 Climashield Apex which allows you to remain comfortable in temperatures as low as -35°C / -31°F.

SHOT Show 24 – V.XI Sigurd Shirt

Launched at SHOT Show, 5.11 Tactical‘s Sigurd Shirt is a warm weather option for training and uniform wear.

Constructed of nylon and elastane warp knit mesh with Cyro-Tac properties in addition to moisture-wicking and anti-odor performance, it comes in long and short sleeve models.

In addition to flat lock seam construction, each sleeve features an ID panel.

Finally, the Rugby-style collar can be worn three ways.

Coming this Spring it will be offered in multiple colors including Red for range safety personnel.
