Massif ought to know how to do it, they’ve produced over 5 million of them!
During my recent visit to the IWA Outdoor Classics in Germany I ran into Polymer80 in the Brownells booth. Imagine seeing them in Europe, considering our perception of their gun laws.
I hadn’t talked to them in awhile, so they showed me their new 80% Sub-Compact Frame.

No matter if you call it 90 Mile-an-hour, LAPES, or Duct tape, it’s an essential tool in any repair kit. You can also create stuff with it. That’s where the book, “Duct Tape Engineer: The Book of Big, Bigger, and Epic Duct Tape Projects (Think, design, create)” comes in.
Author Lance Akiyama offers 14 projects, with step-by-step instructions on how to design, sculpt, and build backpacks, kayaks, catapults, a queen-size bed, and even a writing desk and chair with duct tape.

Recently launched as a Kickstarter campaign, Braeön touts itself as the “World’s Strongest and Most Adaptable Material.”
A lighter and more versatile alternative to rope, Braeön allows you to create custom grips, handles, and harnesses in seconds. In fact, one example they offer is the creation of a custom knife handle.
It appears easy to use. You expose the narrow tape material to hot air or liquid (140 deg F or more), then work it into place, bonding it together as you go, then let it set, for just a few seconds.
Designed to be:
-Strong as Steel but Light Like a Feather
-Malleable and Reformable at Low Temperatures
-Adaptable to Most Scenarios
-Moisture Resistant and Paintable
-Excellent in Extreme Cold Weather
