Hyperstealth Signs European Exclusives with Elba-Onyx Enterprises

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Hyperstealth Biotechnology Corp announced today a series of exclusive camouflage pattern licenses for their SOPAT (Special Operations Pattern), SpecAm and CAMOPAT patterns and also the Passive Negative Ion Generator to Elba-Onyx Enterprises in European markets.

Hyperstealth President Guy Cramer said in a press release, “These licenses will allow our product a foothold in Europe and NATO with a proven company that knows how the system works over there. HyperStealth has worked with over 40 countries but those countries in Europe have been very difficult for us to penetrate to this stage. This deal will also help employ many Europeans as the products will all be assembled in Europe. Europe is also very open to the Passive Negative Ion Generator where negative ion devices are widely used and the benefits are understood by the general public, whereas the North American understanding is limited or almost non-existent.

Negotiations have been under way since August of this year and Elba-Onyx has already arranged for a NATO certified European company to assemble these uniforms with the capacity to produce 1,500 uniforms per day.

Canada Adopts TenCate FR Fabrics

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

While not a wholesale of TenCate’s fabric solutions, or of FR in general, two recent Canadian procurements will result in the use of TenCate fabrics by Canadian troops.

First, the Advance Combat Ensemble (ACE) used by the Canadian Air Force will be manufactured with Nomex FR fabric from TenCate’s Brigade product portfolio. Additionally, new tents will incorprate the Nomex-based TenCate Campshield FR liner fabric.

Australia Purchases Additional OCUs

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Australia is purchasing an additional 10,000 Operational Combat Uniforms. These “test” items will be manufactured from TenCate’s 6.5 oz Defender M fabric. This is the improved fabric used by the US Army and Marine Corps rather than than the earlier fabric used in the first run of ODUs. The ODU is essentially a Crye Precision combat uniform. Apparently, someone at Department of Defence has determined that there is a need for FR protection for the Australian Soldier.

Consisting of a fleece lined neoprene mask, the mask sports polycarbonate lenses that offer UAV-A, -B and -C protection as well as meet ANSI Z87.1 2003. The lens is replaceable and the mask can be configured with a clear lens.

Denmark Goes MultiCam

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

The new Combat Uniform M/11 in MultiCam is coming soon for Danish troops who have been using the M/84 pattern uniform for over 20 years. Rather than separate M/01 desert and M/84 woodland uniforms, there will be heavy and lightweight variants of the new M/11.

Despite popular belief, the M/84 pattern uniform has actually been improved numerous times over the years. For instance, a breathable membrane was introduced as well as integrated knee protection. Additionally, they have gone to a nylon based fabric. And while this is an improvement over cotton for use in cold wet environments found in Northern Europe, as we know, in a flame threat environment, nylon is not your friend.

Due to manufacturing lead times, ISAF 15 & 16 should deploy with the new uniforms in 2013.

Thanks KK!
