Lindnerhof-Taktik Rolls Out New Split-Front Chest Rig, Rifle Magazine Pouches; All Available for Purchase Starting 12 August

Friday, August 12th, 2022

LENGGRIES, GERMANY (11 August 2022)—Lindnerhof-Taktik, GmbH, will tomorrow [12 August] begin making available for purchase three new items to help tactical operators achieve greater mission success. The debuting products are the MX266 Splint Front Chest Rig, the MX002 MX Rifle Magazine Pouch Single, and the MX098 MX Rifle Magazine Panel Triple.

The MX266 Split Front Chest Rig is a lightweight two-piece unit that includes its own padded carrying system.

The MX 002 Rifle Magazine Pouch Single and MX098 Magazine Panel Triple are low-profile, easy access receptacles made to hold magazines for the Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle and those for most other carbines using 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.

According to company officials, the MX266 Split Front Chest Rig builds on the proven design elements of previous Lindnerhof chest rigs but with several important enhancements, the company said.

First, the MX266 is constructed from Lindnerhof’s innovative new multiaxial laminate. This durable yet featherlight material reduces the weight of the chest rig, making it easier to carry.

Second, the fully MOLLE/PALS-compatible MX266 features a midsection split-option zipper that allows users to keep their gear within easy reach when they take up a prone position, thereby eliminating the need to remove the rig in order to access stowed ammo, radio equipment, and other mission essentials.

Third, the MX266 includes its own padded, slotted, and loop-fitted carrying system that allows the piece to be used as an add-on to any other Lindnerhof chest rig model.

“I’m a former sniper, and to me the MX266 Split Front Chest Rig represents a well-conceived expansion of our existing Lindnerhof MX product range—one that’s right in step with these times of super-durable, ultralight plate carriers,” said Jakob Kolbeck, CEO of Lindnerhof- Taktik.

“The MX266 is the latest innovation spun from the relentless efforts of our R&D department,” he continued. “It brilliantly addresses a challenge every sniper, every rifle operator, faces in the field—the challenge of being able to quickly retrieve gear from the front of the rig when you’re belly down in the dirt. Before the MX266, you’d have to completely remove the rig to fish out what you needed. But with the MX266, all you have to do is unzip it and you’ve got direct access from the side. Very cool.”

Kolbeck added that the MX266 comes with a cleverly engineered securing buckle for fast closing of the chest rig when the mission ends or at any point prior. “You don’t even need to close the zipper first—just clip the buckle and go,” he said.

Kolbeck also noted that the MX266 Split Front Chest Rig features Velcro® adaption points that permit affixing it to a plate carrier. “The plate carrier has to have its own Velcro® strips to permit this, but if it doesn’t we offer a separately sold adaption kit [RMPL144] to solve that problem,” he said.

Boasting compatibility with all Lindnerhof rigs, the MX266 is expected to swiftly emerge as a favourite among tactical operators, Kolbeck predicted. “It’ll come to be seen as an easy option to set up one ?s super-individualised and modular micro-rig,” he said. “And the fact that it can be attached to our MX234 Multi-Caliber Triple Front Panel and MX231 Panel Front means users can kill two birds with one stone.”

Meanwhile, the MX002 Rifle Magazine Pouch Single and MX098 Rifle Magazine Panel Triple are—like the MX266 Split Front Chest Rig—made from the company’s super-lightweight MX multiaxial laminate. They are nearly identical in design and features, except the MX002 holds only a single magazine whereas the MX098 holds three and is in a panel format (which makes it well-suited to fully equip the front of a plate carrier).

Both models allow users to swap out a mag faster thanks to their clean, low-profile contours—this attribute helps minimise potential interference with the user’s hand as it grabs for a fresh magazine. Also abetting quick, easy access to magazines is a special built-in tab (Alpha Tab 4.0). Additionally, the MX002 and MX098 mount via standard MOLLE/PALS fixation and come with extra front laser-cut slots for attaching additional gear.

“It’s imperative that the pouches you bring along on your mission make it easier to take hold of your magazines regardless of whether you’re operating in conditions that are dark or cold or wet or some combination of the three, but what ?s also lifesaving while you’re in action is always having best-possible access to your ammunition and weapon system,” Kolbeck offered. “And our new MX Rifle Magazine Pouches deliver on all counts. This is why I feel very confident in asserting that what we’ve created is a genuine instant classic in the category of rifle magazine pouches.”

Major Order from NATO Customer: Rheinmetall Supplying 155mm Artillery Ammunition in the Upper-Two-Digit Million-Euro Range

Friday, August 5th, 2022

Rheinmetall has proven once again its compelling expertise in the world of indirect fire systems: a NATO customer has just placed an order with the Group’s South African subsidiary Rheinmetall Denel Munition to supply 155mm ammunition from its tried-and-tested Assegai product line. Awarded in July, the contract is worth a figure in the upper-two-digit million-euro range. Delivery will take place over the next two years.

The new order encompasses the complete 155mm Assegai ammunition system, including fuses, different projectile types such as high-explosive service rounds, and Assegai artillery propelling charges. The Assegai family of artillery ammunition can be fired from any NATO STANAG-compatible artillery system, including the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer.

“We’re known worldwide for our long-range Assegai indirect fire technology and are pleased to be able to welcome a new partner nation to the Assegai family”, says Jan-Patrick Helmsen, managing director of Rheinmetall Denel Munition.

“As a systems maker, we work constantly to improve our cutting-edge technologies so that we can provide our customers’ soldiers with the best-possible, most reliable solution.”

Back in 2019, Rheinmetall succeeded in setting a new maximum range record in South Africa with the Assegai family and other Group products like the new Topcharge. Thanks to the Assegai system approach – from fuse to projectile to propelling charges – long ranges were attained with various artillery systems. A non-NATO 155mm artillery gun with 52 calibre lengths and a 25-litre propelling charge chamber achieved a record range of 76 kilometres.

Rheinmetall Denel Munition is already working on other future artillery technologies. For example, the rocket motor in conventional 155mm Assegai projectiles is being improved. In addition to this, a new development is on the way that will boost the maximum range to over 155 kilometres.

Number of apprenticeships doubled

Ulm, 1 August 2022 – The sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT is strengthening its commitment to training for high-tech professions. At the start of the training year on 1 September, the company increased the number of training positions for apprentices and dual students at its Ulm site by another 20 percent from 192 last year to 234. The sensor specialist has thus doubled the number of apprenticeships since it was founded in 2017.

“The security of the future is increasingly determined by high technology, and thus by electronics, software and artificial intelligence,” says Peter Fieser, Chief Human Resources Officer at HENSOLDT AG. “That is why we at HENSOLDT take responsibility for the training of these specialists and thereby ensure our success. We practice this sustainable action in the interest of society and in the interest of our customers, who together with HENSOLDT take responsibility for a secure future. ”

In total, interested parties can choose from 78 training and study places in 18 professions of the future. In the dual study programmes, HENSOLDT focuses on the future fields of system engineering, embedded systems, data science and business engineering. Among the apprenticeships, the focus is on electronics technicians for devices and systems and industrial mechanics. In this way, the company will open up a professional future for more than 200 young people in particularly attractive, technologically promising occupational fields.

In the course of the apprenticeship or the dual study programme, HENSOLDT actively supports stays abroad, for example at the company locations in England, France or South Africa, as well as cross-location departmental rotations.

“After successful completion, all junior HENSOLDTians receive a permanent employment contract,” affirms training manager Werner Stockburger. “In order to ensure a smooth transfer to the specialist area that best matches the interests and skills of the trainees, they are given extensive insights into a wide variety of areas during their training and have the choice between a wide range of further training and development opportunities,” Stockburger adds.

At HENSOLDT’s Ulm site, around 3,000 employees are involved in the development and production of radars and electronic reconnaissance systems. A great many of these are engineers and technicians.

Steadicopter Reports Winning Yet Another Significant Tender With Its Black Eagle Electric systems, For The Israeli Navy

Monday, August 1st, 2022

The Black Eagle Electric are the first unmanned helicopters to be powered by an electric motor and have a MTOW of up to 50 kg, adapted for use in advanced maritime missions, and many other applications.

27 July, 2022. Steadicopter – a leader in the Rotary Unmanned Aerial Systems (RUAS) industry – announces another win in a significant tender, this time for the Israeli Navy, for its Black Eagle Electric systems. The Black Eagle Electric family is the first family of unmanned helicopters that are powered by an electric motor, are capable of carrying several payloads and sensors, and can be adapted to diverse applications, including complex maritime missions. Just recently, the company announced the signing of a contract to supply the systems to another Naval customer.

The Black Eagle 5O Electric helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 50 kg, a useful load weight of 30 kg – including payload and batteries, and a flight time of two hours. These capabilities enable high performance as well as maximum operational flexibility for military applications such as intelligence, coastal security, search & rescue, and advanced maritime missions.

The electrically-powered engine significantly reduces the weight of the platform, thereby enabling the installation of additional payloads that are required for a variety of missions. Weighing just 20kg as a platform, the helicopter can carry additional batteries for longer flights, heavier mission payloads, and more. As such, the system enables the widest variety of missions, including covert operations.

The dual-electric propulsion helicopter is economical, simple to operate, easy to maintain, and needs no fuel storage, making it environmentally friendly and safe. It is based on the proven capabilities of the gasoline-powered Black Eagle, including vertical take-off and land, long hover durations, and advanced mission sensors for any mission scenario, whether day or night. In addition, like other Steadicopter platforms, it is adapted to high-altitude flights.

“In the past year, we have expanded the Black Eagle family with the addition of a hybrid and electric system of up to 50kg,” says Noam Lidor, VP Sales, Marketing & Business Development at Steadicopter. “We are proud that just one year after the launch, we have already announced the winning of several significant contracts, for both systems, the latest of which is for the Israeli Navy – considered one of the most advanced forces in the world. There is a growing global need for unmanned systems with vertical landing and takeoff capabilities. The Black Eagle family meets this need with a unique low-weight technology, which enables it to carry several payloads, for flexibility and mission success. We expect that the company will be reporting further deals in the near future.”
