Dueck Defense Expands Rapid Transition Sight Line

Wednesday, November 28th, 2012

Dueck Defense, makers of the Rapid Transition Sight have added a couple of new options. The RTS as originally developed by pro shooter and former Marine Barry Dueck consists of removable M4-style front and rear sights designed to mount at a 45° offset so that the carbine can be rolled off the primary sight to the RTS. The Mil Std 1913 compatible RTS can be used as back up iron sights (BUIS) or for close in engagements when using a powered optic for distance shots.

Regardless of model, they all feature a common rear sight as found on the M16A2/M4 with adjustable drum as well as the same front sight tower found on those weapons. Both right and left versions are available and now they’ve introduced two new options.

This is the Fiber Optic Sightlink version. Sightlink is manufactured by Mounting Solutions Plus and incorporates a fiber optic insert in Red, Yellow or Green.

The model above integrates the Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights.

In addition to purchasing the RTS reconfigured with these new sight options, you could also change out the standard GI-type sight components to use these or other sight inserts.

MATBOCK One Year On

Monday, November 5th, 2012

In honor of their One year anniversary, MATBOCK asked us to share this statement. It’s a little unconventional for us, but it includes two cool things. One is a preview of an upcoming product that we’ve been trying out and the second is a discount for our readers.

In November of 2011, we officially launched our products to the market with the release of the Constrictor Cargo System, Tree-GO IZLID pouch and most recently, the LIFT System. To date, the LIFT System is undoubtably our greatest product with its lightweight design and versatility, all developed with the modern day warrior in mind. At only 3.5 lbs, no other system can come close to what the LIFT System is currently providing to the battlefield and we have new features in the final stages of T&E.

To help celebrate MATBOCK’s 1yr anniversary, we are offering an exclusive 10% discount for all SSD readers. Please just enter “SSD10” during checkout to receive your 10% discount. This coupon code will be good for the entire month of November. In addition to this great discount, MATBOCK will also release new products in the coming weeks here on SSD. Follow us at www.matbock.com, on Facebook, and stay tuned to SSD for further details.

Here is a sneak peak of one product that is still in the final stages of T&E. The next great evolution for Night Vision is here.

Over the past couple of years we have covered Phokus Research Group LLC and their dedication to innovation. Originally called the Phokus Aid, the Hoplite is a refined version of that original, developmental design. This patented hinged aperture control allows the user to switch between near and far focus at a simple flick. As you can see, it attaches to the night vision device, replacing your sacrificial lens. Adams Industries Offers TWO Products of the Week

Saturday, September 29th, 2012

Adams Industries has really outdone themselves this week. They’re not offering one, but two products of the week. Both are not only great products that almost everyone can use but they’re also offering a great price.

20120928-205735.jpg

The first item is a snap-on compass for night vision devices. It fits the PVS-7B/D, 6015, PVS-14 and several other models. The compass allows you to see the compass heading through the device.

20120928-205851.jpg

The second item is CJ Engineering’s Phoenix JR 123. The Phoenix Jr is a low cost Infrared marker beacon that relies on a single CR 123 battery. It’s easy to use. Turn the battery upside down and it won’t activate. Designed as an individual Combat Identification marker employed to minimize fratricide (the inadvertent destruction of battle field assets by friendly forces), it can also been used as a vehicle ID marker, drop zone indicator and perimeter marker. There isa wire bale on the rear that fits right into your PALS webbing so mounting on your equipment is a snap. The cost is low enough that if you aren’t issued one, you can afford getting it on your own.
