MKS Announces Ophir Long Range, Ruggedized 60-1200mm f/4 Continuous Zoom Lens for Cooled MWIR Cameras

April 5, 2022 – Andover, MA – MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced the Ophir® SupIR 60-1200 MWIR f/4 lens, the latest addition to the company’s series of lenses designed for SXGA/HD 10µm and 15µm VGA pitch FPA (focal plane array) cooled MWIR cameras. This new, high precision lens is equipped with an automated zoom interface and continuous zoom to provide a sharp and clear image across the entire field-of-view and throughout the full zoom range. This makes it ideal for the demanding requirements of Counter Unmanned Systems (C-UAS) applications and long range observation and surveillance systems.

The Ophir SupIR 60-1200mm f/4 has a horizontal field-of-view (H-FOV) of 0.3°-8.6°. It is the newest addition to the SupIR SXGA/HD 10µm detectors compatible series of lenses which are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, providing an operating temperature range from -32ºC to +85ºC. These lenses features Ophir’s world-renowned abrasion-resistant, anti-reflective (AR) coatings; IP 67 sealing; and a mechanical design that withstands severe shock and vibration. They are designed for ease of mechanical and electronic integration using Ophir’s standard software for optimal integration, calibration, and field operation. In addition, the lenses are equipped with zoom controller features for continuous zoom with focus retention, automatic focus compensation throughout temperature and zoom ranges, close objects focus mode, focus blurring for NUC calculation, and full manual and automatic control of zoom and focus positions.

L3Harris Equips US Army With Another 1,500 Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binoculars

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) has delivered more than 1,500 combat-ready Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B) systems to the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division unit, improving the soldiers’ situational awareness, mobility and protection.

The ENVG-B provides enhanced capability to the entire force by delivering imagery and data from the battlefield directly to the soldier’s eye. The system includes a new, high-resolution display and an embedded soldier wireless personal area network, rapid target acquisition and augmented reality algorithms to interface with the Army’s Nett Warrior.

The complete system will interface with the Army’s family of weapon sights, while enhancing interoperability and data sharing. The system also integrates with L3Harris’ AN/PRC-163 two channel leader radio which further extends the network across the battlefield.

The VooDoo-S is the latest thermal weapon sight, and is currently fielded and in-use by some of the most elite forces within the DoD as well as other government entities. SWIFT Under Door Camera

The SWIFT Under Door Camera from Tactical Electronics features up to four individual CMOS image sensors with 640×480 resolution and low-light sensitivity of 16V/lux-sec, located within a .26? thick insertion panel which allows you to see in four directions inside a room: forward, upward/backward, left, and right. In addition it’s equipped with covert 950nm Infrared LED illumination for both low-light & no-light environments.

The Tactical Accessory Port (TAP) provides USB and Ethernet connectivity as well as an auxiliary 12VDC power input.  The integrated USB and Ethernet ports and on-board 5GHz Wi-Fi allow for video to be streamed to any Tactical Electronics’ Monitors, the TE View App or ATAK on Android devices, or MANET radios.
