Applied Ballistics Announces Addition Of Dave Preston To Award Winning Shooting Team Roster

    Thursday, November 12th, 2015

Cedar Springs, MI – Applied Ballistics, LLC, has announced the addition of PRS Champion Shooter, Dave Preston, to their roster of Award Winning sponsored competitive long range shooters. Dave will be joining Bryan Litz and Matthew Brousseau as a representative for the company in the 2016 Precision Rifle Series Season.

“We’re beyond excited to have Dave as part of our Applied Ballistics Team,” President of Applied Ballistics, Bryan Litz stated. “Dave not only has a proven track record in the PRS arena, and demands the highest performance standards, but his professionalism both on and off the range is something we value above anything else.”

Dave’s love for shooting began at an early age, when his Grandfather gave him a Red-Ryder BB Gun; instantly hooked, Dave sought to knock down every target in sight. After some time, practice and a few hundred cartons of BB’s, he eventually graduated into a Remington 22-250, using it hunting groundhogs on summer evenings.

It was during this time Dave learned how to shoot from various improvised positions. In 2009 he took his first long distance shooting class, and within the year he was assisting in the instruction.

In 2010, Dave began competing in local PRS matches and instantly fell in love. He joined the Precision Rifle Series in 2014 and placed first in three matches, finishing third overall for the season. In 2015 he practiced more than ever and not only place first in four matches, but taking the top over all spot for the season.

“I am honored to be representing this innovative team at Applied Ballistics,” stated Preston. “The folks at AB have made their reputation on providing the best products and shooting aids to the long range shooting community. I’ve always been a fan and user of their products and am now proud to be wearing their logo when I compete.”
This sponsorship is in addition to Applied Ballistics’ current sponsorship with the Michigan F-T/R Rifle Team, as well as the US Rifle Team. Preston will be joining current Applied Ballistics shooter, Matthew Brousseau throughout the season, as well as in some team matches along the way.

Simms Honors Veterans with Special Edition Wader Warriors And Quiet Waters Wader To Raise Funds For Combat Veterans

    Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

    SIMMS Veteran

BOZEMAN, Mont. (Nov 11, 2015) – This Veterans Day, Simms is honoring those that have served our country like only it knows how—with the creation of a special edition Made-in-the-USA fishing wader.

For a limited time only, Simms is offering a special edition G3 Guide Stockingfoot to benefit the Bozeman-based Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation (WQW). WQW helps reintegrate traumatically combat-wounded U.S. veterans and active service members from recent wars into society by building hope and resilience, facilitating camaraderie, and providing security and serenity through fly fishing and other high quality therapeutic recreational mediums in southwest Montana.

The G3 Guide Stockingfoot – Warriors & Quiet Waters wader is the company’s first foray into a custom wader, made possible by utilizing the country’s last remaining wader manufacturing facility. The new special edition G3 Guide wader features 5-layer and 3-layer GORE-TEX Pro Shell fabric, Multicam camo pocket, belt loops and top hem, WQW custom patch, and all of the same features found in the award-winning G3 Guide Stockingfoot.

“We have been partnering with Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation since their launch in 2007. The benefits are extraordinary for everyone involved,” says Diane Bristol, Simms’ Sr. Director, Employee & Community Engagement and Warriors and Quiet Waters Board Member. “Each time the warriors come to Simms, we are honored and humbled to be able to play a small part in their recovery.”

Simms has been supporting Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation, hosting each of the organization’s week-long Fishing Experience (FX) trips to Montana during the fishing season. Each warrior is outfitted with a selection of Simms gear and is given a tour of Simms’ wader manufacturing facility.

“To witness the power of fly fishing on these true American heroes is breathtaking,” says K.C. Walsh, Simms President. “We hope the fishing community will embrace this special product offering because its story is much more important than just staying warm and dry.”

The special edition wader will remain on sale until all inventories are gone. In total, the offering is attempting to raise $100,000 for the organization. Anglers can see the wader at www.simmsfishing.com or at select special retailers across the U.S. For a complete list of retailers, visit www.simmsfishing.com/wqw.

“When a company like Simms came to us with this idea, we were so excited about the national outreach potential,” says Faye Nelson, Executive Director, Warriors and Quiet Waters. “Knowing that each wader purchase will go directly towards helping more warriors make positive change in their lives is very special.”

Protect the Force Signs Exclusive Patent License Agreement with US Army for Integrated Body Armor Garment

    Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Mission Ready Services Inc. (TSX-V: MRS) – Mission Ready Services Inc. (“Mission Ready” or “MRSI”) is pleased to announce that it has signed an exclusive Patent License Agreement (the “Agreement”) with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center (“NSRDEC”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Protect the Force Inc. (“Protect the Force” or the “Company”). The license terms will provide Protect the Force with exclusive rights to market the Integrated Body Armor Garment (“Next Generation Body Armor”) anywhere outside of the U.S. Federal Government, including local and state law enforcement agencies, as well as internationally to markets such as the Canadian Army and all NATO countries and partners.
Developed over the past 4 years – under a Broad Agency Announcement for the Army Next Generation Body Armor – through a successful joint effort between Protect the Force and NSRDEC, the Integrated Body Armor Garment is a revolutionary breakthrough in soldier protection technology and answers the need for a high-mobility, light-weight Next Generation Body Armor. The Integrated Body Armor Garment is the basis for the Company’s previously announced Ballistic Combat Shirt (“BCS”) and Tactical Police Shirt (“TPS”).

The Integrated Body Armor Garment contains a network of body armor panels that provides protection from ballistic threats while permitting a wide range of motion and providing increased comfort and breathability to the wearer. Mission Ready announced the filing of the patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as an international filing under the Patent Cooperation Treaty for the Integrated Body Armor Garment in a news release dated August 12, 2014.

Robert DiLalla, NSRDEC Team Leader for the Infantry Combat Equipment Team in the Warfighter Directorate, was named as an inventor on the patent applications licensed by Protect the Force. Mr. DiLalla worked closely with the Company in their effort to ensure that the Warfighters’ needs were addressed by the Integrated Body Armor Garment. Mr. DiLalla states, “It’s been extremely productive working with Protect the Force over the past few years developing advanced concepts for the next generation of Soldier protection. Clearly, we’re both excited that some of the concepts, such as the ballistic combat shirt, fared well during the Army development test phases for the Soldier Protection System program of record. Our goal from the beginning was to improve Soldier performance while maintaining the same ballistic protection as the current Interceptor Body Armor system. We were able to quantify significant performance increases in laboratory testing, but it was the exceptionally high user acceptance across three development test phases that indicated we had something revolutionary. While our mission here at the NSRDEC is to support the Warfighter I am pleased to know that this technology has application to better protect members of the law enforcement community both domestically and abroad.”
Francisco Martinez, Chief Technical Officer of Mission Ready states, “Considering the emphatically positive feedback we have received from user evaluations in a variety of tactical and combat-related environments, we are excited to receive this exclusive license from the U.S. Army providing a largely uninhibited path for the Company to pursue our sales and marketing efforts on a broad scale with a primary focus on national and international SWAT and Emergency Response Teams.
