Fix It Sticks Introduces the Most Extensive AR Toolkit Available

Chicago, IL- Fix It Sticks, the industry innovator of modular firearms maintenance tools and torque limiters has introduced the AR Field Armorer’s Toolkit. Specifically made to service AR platform firearms, this new toolkit has an amazing assortment of the most important specialized and general use tools, bits, and a torque driver to properly set up, maintain and accessorize any AR rifle or pistol. BAE Systems Has Delivered a First-In-Its-Kind Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) Turreted Mortar Prototype to the US Army

The prototype showcases a newly designed top plate system—the External Mission Equipment Package (ExMEP)—that allows for the easy installation of a variety of turrets. This vehicle prototype is also outfitted with the Patria NEMO remote-controlled 120mm turreted mortar system.

The result of a rapid collaborative technology investment effort involving the U.S. Army, BAE Systems, and KONGSBERG/Patria, the prototype demonstrates potential variant growth for the highly adaptable AMPV family of vehicles. By using a fielded and fully-qualified asset like the AMPV chassis, it gives the Army options to field combat capabilities—such as the Patria NEMO—to Soldiers who need them at a much faster pace and reduced cost.

“Handing this remarkable capability over to the Army for evaluation is an important step in creating broader multi-purpose options for Soldiers to maintain combat overmatch on the battlefield,” said Bill Sheehy, BAE Systems AMPV program director. “The AMPV Turreted Mortar prototype was born from a capability discussion we had with the Army in 2022—the same year ExMEP was conceptualized with industry partners, and we look forward to its evaluation. The collaborative, future-driven approach to develop it will benefit the warfighter, and that is what the AMPV program is all about.”

The AMPV Turreted Mortar prototype that leverages BAE Systems’ ExMEP to rapidly integrate the NEMO 120mm mortar system is an indirect and direct fire support platform that can be used in multi-mission scenarios. The system enables Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact fire missions where up to five mortar rounds can hit targets simultaneously in less than four seconds while the vehicle is stationary or on the move.

The AMPV Mortar Carrier variant, which is one of the five variants currently in production with the Army, is comprised of the legacy 120mm mortar system. This new AMPV Turreted Mortar prototype offers a significant enhancement that would not only allow for increased capabilities and force protection, but also keep Soldiers completely under the armor protection provided by the vehicle.

Over the next several months, the Army will run the AMPV Turreted Mortar prototype through rigorous field evaluations to mark its capabilities against what Soldiers would require in the battlefield.

This is the second turreted AMPV prototype in the last three months that BAE Systems has showcased, the other being a Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) capability, that utilizes the ExMEP top plate. As the future of battle evolves, the purpose-built framework of the AMPV platform exemplifies endless opportunities for seamless capability integration for the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team.

Mattermost Completes Contract with U.S. Air Force 618th Air Operations Center to Deliver Real Time, Mission Critical Communications

Company releases new Command and Control capabilities to support U.S. Air Force Next Generation Information Technology for Rapid Global Mobility

Palo Alto, California, March 05, 2024 — Mattermost Inc., a secure collaboration platform for technical teams, today announced the completion of a $750,000 AFWERX SBIR Phase II contract for the development of message priority, acknowledgement and persistent notification capabilities to support command and control (C2). Completed just 18 months after the contract’s announcement in May 2022, the newly-deployed ChatOps features ensure timely response to urgent messages through key features now available to servicemen through the Mattermost application.

Developed for the 618th Air Operations Center (AOC) of the United States Air Force Air Mobility Command, the four new features address C2 challenges with response time to mission-critical requests for information. Air Force operators of any kind using Mattermost can leverage the features developed under this AFWERX Phase II to enhance mission intelligence shareability in real-time.

• Message Priority – Enables airmen conducting operations to indicate message urgency to AOC flight managers in real time to rapidly communicate changing conditions and dynamically adapt in theater.

• Message Acknowledgement – Improves situational awareness and synchronization on mission intelligence through enhanced visibility of message receipt across the chain of command.

The platform features a redesigned lower receiver compatible with all MCX upper receivers, a fully ambidextrous magazine release, safety selector, and bolt catch. The MCX-REGULATOR ships with a two-stage match trigger, a cold hammer-forged carbon steel barrel, a SIG designed muzzle brake, and is available in 7.62×39 and 5.56 calibers. The MCX-REGULATOR offers a built in Arca Rail for easy tripod mounting and ships with a 10-round magazine.

Additionally, the MCX-REGULATOR is available in with a factory installed mil-spec ROMEO2 optic. The optic features a molded glass aspheric lens with high-performance coatings for superior light transmittance and zero distortion, D.A.R.C. (Dark Adaptive Reticles and Coatings) technology to provide ideal reticle brightness and target clarity during the day or under night vision, MOTAC™ (motion-activated illumination system) automatically turns the optic off when not in use, and automatically turns it back on when it detects motion, and MAGNETAC™ (Magnetic Activation) automatically turns the optic off when holstered in a compatible holster, and on when drawn. The sight has a 7075-aluminum housing and comes with a full shroud installed to fully enclosed and seal the sight. GM Defense’s ISV Completes United Arab Emirates Armed Forces Summer Trials

GM Defense’s Infantry Squad Vehicle completes grueling off- and on-road tests across complex terrain

WASHINGTON, D.C. — GM Defense LLC, a subsidiary of General Motors (GM), announced its Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) completed the 2023 UAE Armed Forces Summer Trials hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Maintenance Corps. Held over several days, Summer Trials evaluates whether vehicles can meet the technical and tactical needs of UAE Armed Forces and other regional countries. The UAE continues its evaluation post-vehicle exercise to officially recognize completion status. The ISV received certification of completion stating the vehicle successfully passed Summer Trials following both phases of evaluation.  

GM Defense’s ISV completed all phases of the Summer Trials, which included traveling nearly 2,000 kilometers across highways, sand dunes, soft sand tracks and rocky walls. The phases, which include continuous driving with maximum payload capacities, are designed to test vehicle capability in rugged combat conditions, including extreme climate and diverse terrain. In addition to the mobility trials, the ISV completed the Maintenance Trial, which included two days of field repairs testing, and maintenance and recovery evaluation to help potential customers assess ease of repairs and sustainability.

Blaser Introduces New Rimfire Conversion Kits for Blaser R8 Rifle
