FN Wins US Army Contract to Build M240 Machine Guns and Spare Receivers

(McLean, VA – June 10, 2021) FN America, LLC is pleased to announce that the company has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract to supply the U.S. Army with M240 series machine gun variants and spare receivers. The contract, awarded through 2026, is multi-faceted and will support both the U.S. Army and other Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

“The U.S. Army contract for the M240 machine gun was the first military contract FN was awarded and the first to be produced from our production facility in South Carolina,” noted Mark Cherpes, President and CEO for FN America, LLC. “We’re incredibly honored to continue our relationship with the Army, supporting them with high quality and reliable weapon systems for our servicemen and women.”

The M240 general purpose machine gun, derived from the FN MAG 58, was adopted by the U.S. military in the late 1970s, and has been in continual service since being introduced. This contract provides a procurement vehicle for the US Army to purchase multiple variants of the M240 machine gun, including the M240 coaxial, the M240B, M240L, M240D and M240H models.

Throughout its history, FN has been one of the largest suppliers of small arms to the U.S. military and continues to develop innovative, future technology. In addition to the M240 and its variants, the company currently holds contracts for the FN M249 lightweight machine gun; the FN MK 46, MK 48, MK 17, and MK 20 SSR for USSOCOM, and various other contracts.

The P320 XCOMPACT Spectre and P365XL Spectre pistols feature the new Laser Engraved LXG Grip Module, and custom distressed slide, combined with the popular XSERIES features, delivering a custom concealed carry experience straight from the SIG SAUER factory.

The SIG Custom Works Spectre series pistols are 9mm striker-fired pistols, featuring the all-new LXG Grip Module with laser engraving on all four sides, a deep trigger undercut, and extended beavertail, complemented by the Custom Works Spectre slide with distressed finish and custom Spectre XSERIES lightening cuts. Both pistols include XSERIES flat triggers, XRAY3 Day/Night sights, and custom optic ready slides. The SIG Custom Works P320 Spectre is direct-mount compatible with the SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO1Pro , the soon to be released SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO2, Delta Point Pro, and RMR Reflex Optics, and ships with (2) 15-round steel magazines. USSOCOM Selects Nightforce for Ranging – Variable Power Scope Program to Equip Semi-Automatic Sniper Weapon Systems

Nightforce Optics is proud to announce that another variant of the ATACR product line has been selected to fill the Ranging – Variable Power Scope (R-VPS) component of the Miniature Aiming Systems – Day Optic (MAS-D) Program. The MIL-SPEC ATACR™ 4-20×50 F1 will be integrated as the Mid-Range and the Designated Marksman solutions for US Special Operations Command’s current and future anticipated Semi-Automatic Sniper Weapon Systems. The R-VPS will round out a complete family of Variable Power Scopes awarded to Nightforce Optics within the MAS-D Program.

As part of a life cycle replacement program and capabilities enhancement, the Nightforce MIL-SPEC ATACR 4-20 is optimized to provide improved target detection and identification, as well as hit probability, for engagements out to 1200m.

“We are both proud and humbled to realize another Nightforce ATACR model selection within the VPS family of scopes for USSOCOM. While a new benchmark for us, the real benefit is the continuity it brings to the end user. Now, regardless of weapon system, they will have commonality in adjustment features and ancillary components ”, said Nightforce’s MIL-GOV-LE Business Development Manager, Tod Litt.

The Nightforce MIL-SPEC ATACR 4-20 offers excellent performance in intermediate range target detection as well as reliable mechanical adjustment. The optic feature Nightforce’s exceptional ED glass, 0.1 Mil-Radian adjustment value for both windage and elevation, the Horus Vision TREMOR3 reticle, and a tan, hardcoat anodized finish. Like the previous VPS Program solutions the R-VPS is provided as a system, utilizing a purpose-built Nightforce scope mount and laser range finder integration platform. When employed as a complete solution, the SOF end-user’s ability to detect, range, and receive a firing solution correlates well with the semi-automatic weapon capability it is intended to enhance.

The new optics are to augment multiple systems in the SOCOM inventory and are intended to support the MRGG (Mid-Range Gas Gun) once it is fielded.

High Speed Gear Launches Navigator Tech Pouch

SWANSBORO, N.C. – June 1, 2021 – High Speed Gear® released its new Navigator Tech Pouch June 1 for use with personal navigation and similar navigation devices.

The Navigator is a low-profile admin pouch designed to assist in hands-free navigation through smart phone apps. The pouch unfolds and suspends at a 90-degree angle to give clear visibility to a smart phone or similar device, which it holds securely in an adjustable, hook and loop harness. The harness is designed to accommodate most smart phones, including plus-style phones, with or without cases, as large as 7” x 3.5” x 0.75”.
