Anarchy Outdoors Introduces Performance Upgrades For The Thompson Center Compass and Venture Rifles

Saturday, August 29th, 2020

North Logan, UT- Anarchy Outdoors, a leading industry innovator and supplier of precision rifle components and other high-performance firearms accessories, has introduced two major upgrades for the Thompson Center Compass and Venture rifles, a Thread Bolt Handle and a Picatinny Scope Base with Bubble Level.   Both the Compass and Venture are great rifles, available at a reasonable price with solid features.  Like many factory rifles there is always an opportunity to make improvements in ergonomics and performance.  These two new products from Anarchy Outdoors will make these rifles easier to shoot and more accurate at long range.

Part of maximizing the accuracy and functionality of any rifle system is properly fitting it to the shooter.  The Threaded Bolt Handle is more ergonomic than the factory handle.  It is swept back further and places the bolt knob is a position that makes it easier and faster to work the action.  The end of the Threaded Bolt Handle also has 5/16”-24TPI threads.  This enables a significant degree of improvement with any of the Anarchy Outdoors aftermarket bolt knobs with the same threads.   Precision machined from 17-4 stainless steel and now available in a satin or black nitride finish, the Threaded Bolt Handle for the TC Compass and Venture has an MSRP of $59.99.  More Info:  Venture Bolt Handle   Compass Bolt Handle

The Anarchy Outdoors Picatinny scope base for the T/C Compass and Venture features an integral bubble level that is machined into the back of the rail.  This lets the shooter quickly and easily see if their rifle is level before taking a shot.  Preventing cant in the rifle is critical to precision shooting at long range.  The base also features a forward slope in either 20MOA or 30MOA.  This maximizes the amount of useable elevation adjustment in a riflescope.  These new scope bases are precision machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hardcoat anodized matted black and include the mounting hardware.  Available in for both long and short actions, the new Picatinny Scope Base with Bubble Level has an MSRP of $89.99.

Atlantic Signal Receives New Contract from United States Secret Service Counter Assault Team

Friday, August 28th, 2020

Atlantic Signal recently received another significant order from the United States Secret Service Counter Assault Team.

Atlantic Signal and the USSS CAT have been doing business for well over a decade. Several product designs as well as added product features of Atlantic Signal products have come from this long-term relationship.

“The USSS CAT has many unique requirements that require something beyond the traditional tactical communications equipment one might correlate with conventional tactical teams. CAT is a specialized tactical unit of the United States Secret Service that provides tactical support to the Presidential Protective Division to protect the President of the United States. The members of CAT are Secret Service Special Agents who have gone through and complete an 8-month course at FLETC in Georgia and have also successfully served multiple years in the Secret Service. Once accepted to CAT, the Agents undergo additional training including counter-ambush tactics and CQB. They are a finely meshed team of professionals at the highest level”, states Randall Hedrick, President and Managing General Member of Atlantic Signal.

USSS Counter Assault, due to their wide ranging mission sets, chose both the Atlantic Signal exclusive Peltor ComTac V circum-aural headset and the DOMINATOR II headset featuring RX audio via both the facial bones and ear canals with the addition of both electronic hearing protection and ambient environmental amplification when the DOMINATOR II earpieces are engaged. Further, Atlantic Signal made unique modifications to CAT’s shoulder microphones for use with their PTT and radio interfaces.

The DOMINATOR II headset push-to-talk assembly features plug and play cables designed and manufactured by Atlantic Signal for their Motorola radios as well as their Harris 6 pin radio models. Custom cables were also designed and manufactured for use with CAT’s key-load adapters.

The ComTac V headset suite, purchased by the team, features the Atlantic Signal WARRIOR Dual Comm push-to-talk. The plug and play cables designed and manufactured by Atlantic Signal can be used with both the WARRIOR and DOMINATOR II PTTS..

Atlantic Signal also provided a custom, coiled cable assembly for use with both push-to-talks and the team member’s smartphones.

Atlantic Signal is based out of Topeka, KS where they develop, design, manufacture and sell tactical communications and accessories. The company started in 1989 with a focus on tactical law enforcement. Today, thirty-one years later, the company’s clients include Customs and Border Patrol, Naval Special Warfare, LAPD, ATF, MARSOC, DEA, US Coast Guard, US Secret Service among thousands of military and law enforcement clients around the world.

Outdoor Research Earns FDA EUA Authorization for its US-Made Surgical Mask

Thursday, August 27th, 2020

Seattle-based company one of only four companies to achieve FDA authorization for U.S.-made surgical masks since pandemic began

SEATTLE, Wash. – Outdoor Research, LLC. (OR), a leading brand in the tactical and outdoor apparel industries, has earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for its U.S.-made surgical mask. This authorization is designed to help strengthen the availability of key products needed during public-health emergencies.

FDA EUA authorization follows quickly on the heels of National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) approval in late July of OR’s Flat Fold Respirator Mask. NIOSH is a division of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Federal authorization of OR’s personal protective equipment (PPE) is the culmination of a months-long effort and represents two significant accomplishments. OR is one of only four organizations to achieve FDA authorization for U.S.-made surgical masks since the COVID-19 pandemic began. OR is also one of only six organizations to achieve expedited NIOSH certification to make healthcare respirators since the beginning of the pandemic. It is the only manufacturer within the outdoor and tactical spaces to do either.

While many companies have entered the mask market temporarily by creating “face coverings” for general public use, OR has made a strategic commitment to expanding the company’s manufacturing capabilities to build advanced medical-devices, providing PPE to frontline healthcare workers during and after this current crisis.

“With the onset of COVID-19, it quickly became clear that securing more reliable sources of medical PPE within the U.S. was critical to our country’s response to this pandemic,” said Jason Duncan, Head of Tactical, Innovation and CSR at Outdoor Research. “Because Outdoor Research already had long-established U.S. manufacturing capabilities and the know-how to quickly pivot to building new kinds of technical products, we are able to be part of the solution. These FDA and NIOSH authorizations speak to the success of that effort and to the vast amount of team work that has gone into this here at Outdoor Research.”

In the past five months, OR invested in equipment and training to convert two floors of its Seattle manufacturing facility to produce two different types of N95 masks as well as medical-grade surgical masks. The company also produces the Berry Amendment-compliant Resolute Face Mask in Seattle. Along with investing in equipment, OR has hired more than 130 people to support mask production. These investments have resulted in the capability to produce up to 200,000 U.S.-made masks per day. To date, it has produced more than 3 million U.S.-made masks.

OR is also producing reusable, technical and functional face masks for the general public. Like the Resolute Face mask, the Essential Face Mask Kit features an integrated and replaceable filter.

Highly respected in the outdoor industry for developing functional solutions for extreme environments, OR has a history of successfully leveraging the best commercial market technologies to serve the needs of the armed services and first responders. Over the past two years the company has conducted a comprehensive review of the U.S. supply chain and is in active development with textile mills and materials providers to expand and elevate the capabilities of products that are 100% American-made.

OR has made significant capital investments designed to improve and modernize its Seattle factory. These investments have taken advantage of the company’s global knowledge of design, materials, and innovative manufacturing techniques while producing the next generation of outdoor and tactical products at its facilities. OR has continued to accelerate its product-development cycle, allowing the latest innovations to be rapidly fielded to the end user, helping increase the mobility and protection of soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, first responders, outdoor enthusiasts, and now the medical community.
