CENTRAL LAKE, MI, October 30, 2018 – Central Lake Armor Express, Inc. (“Armor Express”), a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-performance armor solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a multi-year, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command (Contract #: M67854-19-D-1509). The contract was competitively procured as a total small business set-aside, with a potential value of $59.4 million. Under the terms of the award, the Company will provide up to 65,469 Plate Carrier Generation III – Soft Armor Inserts and data reports, with production expected to be completed by October 2023.

The United States Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) has formally approved the B.E. Meyers & Co. MAWL®-DA (Modular Advanced Weapon Laser – Direct Action) for use as its primary weapon-mounted aiming and illumination laser. Initial bulk orders of the MAWL®-DA will provide DSS agents with a welcome advantage during low-light/no-light operations. Each MAWL® has been equipped with B.E. Meyers & Co.’s EndCap 2, and incorporates a brand new AA battery adapter for dual power options (AA or CR123 batteries).
As an inherently modular platform, the MAWL® allows for a host of future upgrades and modifications. Leveraging the flexibility of the system, B.E. Meyers & Co. developed the AA Battery Adapter for the EC2 (EndCap 2) to the address unique logistical challenges faced by DSS officers. This component simplifies supply chain hurdles in areas of operation where CR123 batteries are not readily available, and is fully compatible with all EC2 equipped MAWL® variants. The AA battery option maintains the same power output ratings that distinguish the MAWL® as the preferred choice for professional end-users.
Prior to choosing the MAWL® -DA, the DSS subjected it to rigorous field testing and end-user evaluation trials. Its overall performance, including its modularity, AA compatibility, and patented near infrared VCSEL technology, ensured the MAWL®-DA’s selection for DSS Special Agents working abroad under night vision.
The EC2 compatible AA Battery Adapter was designed specifically to meet DSS laser requirements and initial production is being focused on fulfilling current and future DSS orders. B.E. The Shield Arms Folding Lower Receiver (FLR) is a patent-pending billet lower receiver with a folding stock mechanism machined and built directly into the receiver, allowing the stock or pistol brace to fold without the need of an aftermarket folding stock adapter. No installation. No tools. Just open the box, fold, and go.
The Shield Arms FLR is precision-machined from 7075 billet aluminum and is designed and manufactured in the U.S. The FLR ships as a stripped lower receiver with included buffer. The folding stock mechanism is preinstalled and accepts any standard aftermarket buffer tube. To complete the lower receiver, simply use a standard lower parts kit, and customize the Shield Arms FLR to your preference.
Additionally, the Shield Arms FLR uses a standard bolt carrier group and does not modify the carrier in any way, nor does it require any additional parts to function properly. As an added advantage, due to the folding mechanism being machined directly into the receiver, the overall length of the lower receiver is increased by only 5/8”, less than half the length of some popular aftermarket adapters.
The Shield Arms Folding Lower Receiver will be available for order soon in 9mm with an MSRP of $399.99. Additionally, Shield Arms will be licensing the FLR to other manufacturers – interested parties should contact licensing@shieldarms.com.

The Shield Arms SA-9 is a complete AR-15 style 9mm weapon system built on the FLR. The select fire version of the SA-9 was recently selected by the US Army to participate in the Sub Compact Weapon Prototype Opportunity.

Fredensborg, Denmark, October 23, 2018 – On October 12, MyDefence co-hosted the event Electric Storm to demonstrate the capability of the latest MyDefence Counter UAS products for dismounted soldiers. The event featured a live demonstration of the detection and jamming capabilities of the WINGMAN 103 drone detector and the PITBULL Counter UAS jammer.
Last month, DeDrone announced the capability to detect drone swarms, and assuming the same conditions, MyDefence is now announcing drone swarm jamming capability, which was demonstrated at Electric Storm. During the event, five drone operators attempted to execute a coordinated drone attack. The coordinated attack was effectively neutralized using the MyDefence PITBULL Counter UAS jammer, and all drone operators lost control of their drones.
