It’s Official! Aimpoint Launches New ACRO Series Sight

Wednesday, June 13th, 2018

Malmö, Sweden – June 2018 – Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in red dot sighting technology, is proud to introduce their new line of red dot sights, the Aimpoint® ACRO™ (Advanced Compact Reflex Optic) Series. The unique small sight design of the Aimpoint® ACRO series electronic red-dot sight was developed for use on pistols and other weapon platforms.
For many years, end users have requested a small enclosed red dot sight to fit on handguns. Utilizing Aimpoint’s advanced sight technology, Aimpoint is proud to launch the first of its kind to the market. The Acro P-1, offers an enclosed system that is much more durable than those with open systems. It is also the only sight in its size category fully tested for shock, vibration, temperature span and other environmental stress.

The Acro P-1 optic can perform under tough conditions while adding negligible size and weight to the equipment. Tested with a minimum of 20,000 rounds on a .40 cal pistol slide, this small optic has proven itself in its size category as the leader in ruggedness and reliability.

Designed for direct integration onto pistol slides, the Aimpoint Acro P-1 sight can also be used as a backup sight for magnifying scopes, personal defense weapons, and on any system where a small red dot is applicable.

The Acro P-1 sight is a 1X (non-magnifying) parallax-free optic that features a 3.5 minute of angle (MOA) red dot for fast target acquisition. It is fully submersible to 25 meters and allows continuous operation for over 1 year on a single CR1225 battery. Dot intensity is adjusted with side push buttons.

“The development of the Acro P-1 sight sets a new standard for compact pistol mounted reflex optics,” said Aimpoint AB President Lennart Ljungfelt. “The commitment we make to our customers is to develop the highest performing red-dot sights available. The Acro P-1 optic fulfills that commitment by providing the lightest and most rugged enclosed red-dot sight in its size category on the market.”

Grey Ghost Precision Team Shooter JP Sullivan, Secures Top Placement at 3rd Annual, Task Force Dagger 3Gun Championship

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

June 12, 2018 – Grey Ghost Precision is proud to announce team shooter, JP Sullivan’s fourth place finish, out of 154 competitors, at the 3rd Annual Task Force Dagger 3Gun Championship, held June 8-10, in Clinton, SC.

Sullivan, who competes in 3 Gun, USPSA, and Precision Rifle matches, has won numerous local matches and placed in the Top 10 at multiple major matches across the country using modified GGP Light 5.56 rifles.

Currently serving as an Army Captain on Active Duty with 3 deployments to Afghanistan and other overseas Assignments, Sullivan chooses to run the Grey Ghost Precision Light (5.56), with an 18″ barrel for his rifle during the competitions.

The 2018 Task Force Dagger Foundation 3Gun Championship is an entertaining three-day military-style, physically and mentally challenging event. The match features 8 stages, and 18 Squads with 15 competitors per squad. The stages are designed to present dynamic shooting challenges, as well each stage designed to individually memorialize a USSOCOM service member or a significant combat operation.

“The skill level of the competitors was no doubt the deepest talent pool I have seen at the match,” stated Sullivan. “The first and second place finishers are both multi-time national champions and damn near unstoppable so it was a battle for third, and I’m honored to have been among that group of finishers.”

Sullivan is one of several active duty, Special Operations Military members the team at Grey Ghost entrusts their firearms with, to provide honest and real feedback.

“My rifle is by far my best of the 3 guns I have. I also compete with the GGP Grim (6.5 Creedmoor), which doesn’t require any modifications due to it being so awesome out of the gate and ready for competition,” stated Sullivan. “Needless to say, the team at GGP is one that I trust completely.”

With a number of prototypes in the hands of trusted industry partners and professionals, from Special Forces teams and instructors, Law Enforcement, competition shooters and hardcore hunters, Grey Ghost isn’t one of those companies who asks for help and then decide they’re going to do it their way anyway. The team takes every ounce of feedback, in conjunction with design and engineering, and the product you see come out of the box will be the result of legitimate evaluations and honest opinion.

“We make it a point to remain relevant to our customers by being in constant contact with them,” stated Jason Curns, Vice President of GGP. “Feedback is the most important aspect in design and manufacturing – and we realize how imperative it is to humble ourselves to know that. We are incredibly end-user focused; and with several of our products currently being deployed with teams in combat, our focus on the feedback from those who put themselves into harms way is the most imperative.”

“Having JP as part of the Grey Ghost team is not only an honor, but is a truly imperative ingredient to how we as a company operate,” stated Casey Ingles, CEO of GGP. “Without professionals such as JP, we wouldn’t be able to produce the products we do, and be able to provide those who use them, the confidence to know they will operate when needed.”

Propper Donates Portion of Memorial Day Week Proceeds to USO of Missouri

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

St. Charles, MO — For the second year in a row, Missouri-based Propper International teamed up with the USO of Missouri to donate a portion of online sales in honor of Memorial Day and to further the USO’s mission to “strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.”

This year’s total of $5,181 included proceeds from sales during the week leading up to Memorial Day and the holiday weekend.

“As a Missouri-based company, donating to the USO of Missouri was an easy decision,” said John Negrau, VP, Marketing & eCommerce for Propper. “For over half a century, Propper has proudly supported our fighting men and women. It made sense to support current active duty personnel by donating in honor of the fallen.”

Each state’s USO branches operate independently and rely solely upon local support.

“Propper’s support and generosity is very much appreciated. Without support such as theirs, we wouldn’t be able to continue to serve the over 270,000 military and their families that we do,” said Christine Trotter, Development Director for USO of Missouri.

DuPont Launches New Lightweight Helmet Innovation at Eurostary

Monday, June 11th, 2018

DuPont Safety & Construction will launch a new lightweight innovation for tactical helmets, DuPont™ Tensylon® HA120, at Eurosatory, June 11-15, 2018.

“DuPont™ Tensylon® HA120 is a new material for helmets that provides maximum ballistic protection at a lighter weight than traditional helmets, taking some of the load off the men and women on the front lines,” said John Richard, vice president and general manager, DuPont™ Kevlar® and Nomex®.

“Tensylon® HA120 enables helmets to be up to 40 percent lighter than traditional helmets allowing military and law enforcement members worldwide to stay safer and move faster with improved mobility.”

Designed with optimum ballistic properties and impact resistance, Tensylon® HA120 ensures maximum protection and lightweight durability for high performance helmet applications. Optimizing the performance of traditional Tensylon® solid state extruded ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) film technology, allows manufacturers to make lightweight ballistic helmets with superior protection from bullet penetration and low back face deflection (BFD), in a single-step processing cycle. To improve mold release, bonding to paint and abrasion resistance, a Tensylon® HA120 core can be co-molded with outer skins of woven fabrics made with Kevlar® fiber.

“Innovation is a continuous process at DuPont,” Richard said. “We’re constantly looking for new solutions that are stronger, lighter and more comfortable for the men and women protecting us. They deserve the best protection, so they can stay focused on the high-risk job of safeguarding their communities and their countries.”

The new Tensylon® HA120 material and other DuPont ballistics solutions will be featured at the DuPont Safety & Construction booth located in Hall 6, Stand J251 at Eurosatory 2018 at Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris. Customers and the media also are invited to attend a DuPont Safety & Construction reception at the Le Chalet des lles restaurant, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. CEST.
