Thursday, January 20th, 2022

True Velocity has this LMT MARS-H in the new 6.8 TVCM cartridge.

6.8 TVCM is the commercial version of the polymer cases ammunition developed by True Velocity for the US Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program. Having recently received SAAMI approval, this cartridge has the same overall length as the 7.62 x 51 NATO round, but it fires a larger projectile at a higher velocity.

True Velocity, along with SIG SAUER remain as the two contenders for that program which promises to replace the 5.56mm NATO firing M4 Carbine and M249 Squad Automatic Weapons in Close Combat Formations. This is a photo of the RM777, the TV entry for the NGSW Rifle component.

According to TV, they plan to offer this rifle commercially. Additionally, other manufacturers such as Daniel Defense are working on firearms for use with 6.8 TVCM.

SHOT Show 22 – 18 Series Bag Company

Thursday, January 20th, 2022

During one of the pre-SHOT Show range events I ran into a new Veteran owned company named 18 Series Bag Company.

Founded by retired Special Forces Soldiers, they set out to create mission specific bags and packs for the various functions on an Operational Detachment – Alpha.

Take for instance the Delta Bag which is a modular medical bag.

In addition to the large, lay flat main bag, it includes a zip-off Assault Bag and removable Fanny Pack. At the interior, there are six color-coded transparent pouches to organize your gear.

Plus, it’s rigged for jumping. While it was built for medical use, it can be configured for a variety of applications such as sUAS or EOD.

The bags are all Berry complaint.

SHOT Show 22 – Blue Force Gear GMT Sling

Wednesday, January 19th, 2022

The new Give Me Tail Sling might seem like Blue Force Gear is taking a step backward from their captured tail designs, but this adjustable sling eliminates mechanical buckles associated with other long tail slings and introduces a simple buckle, the Double Locking Sling Adjuster.

The spherical release knob is easy to find and pull on to release tension. To tighten, simply pull on the loose end of the sling.

Available now at www.blueforcegear.com/gmt-sling.
