2015 Means Two Goals for SSD

January 1st, 2015

I don’t normally share our plans because sometimes they don’t always come to fruition but we’ve got two projects that have sat in the back burner for entirely too long. It’s high time we implemented them.

The first is Soldier Systems Digest, a weekly email-based newsletter. You’ll finally be able to actually subscribe to SSD.

The second project that has been in development hell for the past several years is sales.soldiersystems.net. The concept is that all sale / discount announcements will go to a central location in a new sub domain on SSD.

What are your goals for 2015?

Urban ERT Slings is a Veteran-owned business founded by a former Marine. They offer a line of hand-made single, two-point, and three-point slings for a wide range of weapon systems. Their URBAN-SENTRY Hybrid sling, for example, is a sling design capable of being configured as a single-point or two-point sling right out of the bag. It comes with an ACE-LP 1.25″ front Picatinny rail sling mount and rear sling attachment receiver plate; the system is 100% ambidextrous. When used in single point mode, users can utilize the Speed Loop Weapons Catch Adapter to secure the front of their weapon to their off hand hip or sling when in use.

An included cinch strap allows the user to quickly cinch their sling, which also features a breakway system to rapidly detach from the sling as needed. It also features a wide strap for comfort and a single row of PALS webbing sewn onto the strap for the weapon catch, although it can also be used for a variety of PALS-compatible accessories.

Velocity Systems – BOSS Rugby And Range Shorts Color Comparision

December 31st, 2014

Yesterday, I drove to the Velocity Systems factory to pick up samples of the new Range Shorts and the MultiCam BOSS Rugby. While we were there, I also happened to purchase the Tan BOSS and Range Shorts for one of my kids.

IMG_2842

Due to popular demand, we took a photo for a color comparison between the Earth Tan BOSS Rugby and Tan Range Shorts. As you can see, the BOSS Rugby is closer to the Sand color for current issue Army T-shirts, while the range shorts are closer to a traditional Khaki. This Tan turned out great and I really like the color.

The BOSS Rugby has long been my go-to range shirt and these new shorts are awesome. I had a pair of an earlier version and they’ve really dialed the design in. Designed with a customer from the ground up for range use, the pocket configuration is well laid out.
