Pssst, hey you, want to see something cool?
We have a long history of using Powertraveller products and find them both easy to use and reliable. The waterproof, solar power Powermonkey Extreme is receiving a paint job. Coming in November, it will be offered in The current Black as well as a Coyote color. Additionally, Powertraveller is bundling the Powermonkey Extreme with a Helium Whisper utility pouch from Blue Force Gear. Pouches are offered in Black, Coyote and MultiCam.
The heart of the Powermonkey Extreme is essentially a battery or mobile power source. In addition to the solar panel the device can also be charged via 12v or shore power. It provides 9000mAh and you can expect it to retain 75% of the stored power over a year of unused storage.
Almost in stealth mode, we ran across this excellent bush hat from Platatac while visiting the Edgar Brothers booth. Dubbed the Grouse Bush Hat – Recon (Grouse is Australian for awesome) it’s part of a complete ensemble that includes a short and trousers.
And while it’s packed full of features like diagonal vents with mesh backing, a short brim and rear adjustment, that’s not the real story. This hat is 100% cotton ripstop in MultiCam. Platatac worked with Duro to produce this fabric based on the material used in the old jungle fatigues. That means cottony comfort gents.
That’s a good looking hat.
If you weren’t at DSEi today you missed the opportunity to have the lovely models Holly Peers and India Reynolds sign your 2014 Hot Shots Calendar. Don’t fret, the models will be back tomorrow in the Edgar Brothers booth #S4 280, in the UK pavilion.
The new Lightweight Tactical Polymer helmet from Team Wendywe showed you during SOFIC will be available for order in just a few weeks.
They had a few pre-production samples on hand at DSEi. The LTP integrates a NVG insert developed by Wilcox Industries. It is attached via a bolt so that it can be replaced if needed. Additionally, TW has upgraded their retail system and included the new Zorbium-based pad system. The Cam-fit harness also comes standard on the LTP.
The much anticipated X400 Ultra with Green laser from SurFire is set to be available next month. It integrates the 500 lumens Ultra lamp along with a green laser.
Available in the UK through www.edgarbrothers.com.
Cadex is introducing the new Strike Lite Chassis. Featuring a smaller tube than its predecessor it is both more compact and lighter yet retains all of the features of the standard Strike Chassis. In fact, it weighs in at 6.1 lbs with Mil Std 1913 rails or 5.8 lbs without. Additionally, Cadex offers a butt pad extender as well as a sandbag rest that can replace the rear monopod. One additional feature is the incorporation of back up screws in the chassis in case you lose one on a mission.
Finally, Cadex has changed the sling attachment point. It is no longer incorporated directly into the chassis but rather comes as a rail adaptor. This new adaptor will also fit the XM2010 chassis.
