Eagle Language Training Center

Sunday, August 21st, 2011

I’m a graduate of DLI, but that was way back in the dark ages. It’s amazing what they’ve done over the last few years in the way of outreach for deploying forces. No longer is language training just the purview of Intel and SOF personnel. This video is about the Eagle Language Training Center at Fort Campbell designed to provide 16-week intensive language training courses to combat arms Soldiers.

What’s really cool about the Eagle Language Training Center is that it offers a Cultural Immersion Center where portions of the training environment were prepared by our friends at Military Wraps. It includes a market area, common area, and a Government office which allows students to interact in a realistic environment complete with role players to practice their new language skills. Props from Tatitlek, add the finishing touches.

A BIG thanks to our friends at the French website MultiCam Insider for this info. “The German firm Leo Köhler is entering the MultiCam market with three new products (guerilla vest, combat shirt and pants).” Interestingly, they are marketed as KSK items and can be found at ASMC.de.

Always Remember, Never Forget

Friday, August 19th, 2011

Our military has seen some tough times and it is truly awe inspiring to see groups step up to support our Warriors and their families. Mission First Tactical is no stranger to giving back to the community and has developed the Always Remember/Never Forget (9/11-5/1/11) Memorial T-Shirt to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the events of 9/11, and the successful mission carried out against Osama Bin Laden.

100% of proceeds from the sales of these shirts will be sent to the Thomas J. Valentine Memorial Fund, getting the widows and children of ALL NSW KIA (past and present) the immediate financial support they need now, the Navy SEAL Foundation and Families of September 11® to help the families of the fallen.

Sawyer Squeeze Filter

Friday, August 19th, 2011

Originally posted on Tactical Fanboy.

The Sawyer Squeeze Filter consists of a filter with a push/pull cap that attaches to one of three different sized reusable pouches, 12, 16, or 32oz, or most threaded plastic bottles. The system is lightweight, weighing only 3oz., and is very portable. Despite its small size it removes upwards of 99.99999% of all water-found containments. The filter can even stand up to high-pressure backwashing due to Sawyer’s robust hollow-fiber membranes, although because of the filter’s large surface area this isn’t a frequently required task.
