Blackhawk! Serpa Holsters Recalled (Again)

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

This isn’t the first time that Blackhawk! has recalled their SERPA holsters. Apparently, this time it’s the light bearing models made before 2011.

SERPA Safety Notice

The issue is that some SERPA Level 3 Light Bearing Duty Holsters have broken away from the jacket slot (the interface between holster and belt) due to improper assembly caused by using excessive force, improper screws or missing screws. They are offering a free replacement holster.

Visit www.blackhawk.com and follow the directions.

Please Remember

Commenting on SSD posts is a privilege. It isn’t a right. I can ban your IP just as easily as I can approve a post. Awhile back we had an issue with industry shills so we changed the way people comment. Now, it’s a maturity problem. I can institute even more changes but I’d prefer not to.

I see your IP and can figure out most rick-tick who you are. So please don’t come in here throwing racial epithets around or creating multiple logins in order to support your narrow minded views on race relations or to share your abnormal sexual fantasies. That will definitely get you some bad attention. I will share your IP with the world.

My suggestion has always been to only post online what you would say to a person’s face. You just never know when you might meet that person, in person.

High Ground ALICE Frame Modular Panel

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Despite its propensity for falling apart, the ALICE frame just won’t go away. Rather, it remains popular due to its ability to accept a wide variety of irregular loads becoming a modern day pack board. High Ground recognized its adaptability and decided to make it MOLLE compatible as well. They’ve created a new modular panel that attaches to the frame making even more useful for a variety of applications.

Liberty GLOCK Goes for Over $15K

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

You may have seen the “GLOCK Statue of Liberty Gun” a one-of-a-kind, hand-engraved GLOCK 22 at SHOT Show or on Gunbroker.com where it served as the official Handgun for the 2012 SHOT Show Auction. It went to auction and was won by Alexander Smith for $15,025. The proceeds will be used to benefit programs to further America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage. In addition to the pistol, Mr Smith will also receive a signed drawing of the original GLOCK pistol.

The exclusive GLOCK features an intricate, hand-engraved tribute to the United States and the Statue of Liberty. This theme was selected to recognize GLOCK’s 25th Anniversary in the United States, which coincides with the 125th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.

“In celebration of GLOCK’s 25 years in the United States, Mr. GLOCK wanted to recognize the customers who have helped the company achieve such a milestone,” stated GLOCK Vice President Gary Fletcher. “This one-of-a-kind piece demonstrates GLOCK’s dedication to its advocates.”

BE Meyers Introduces 2 New DevicesADS Tactical

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Specializing in weapons accessories and illumination equipment, BE Meyers is constantly innovating and introducing new products. Here are two of their latest designs which will be well suited for Law Enforcement applications.

When you think BE Meyers you generally think military. But they have developed the new GLARE® Enforcer which is the only non-lethal visual disruption laser FDA approved for law enforcement organizations. This green laser relies on Eye Safe® technology which automatically adjusts the output power depending on the target distance, ensuring the delivery of maximum safe power at all times while maintaining the safety of all nearby personnel against accidental eye injury. It is effective beyond 2 km. Within 500m, it produces an overpowering visual effect that deters hostile action and dissuades further approach. The device produces a large target spot, making it easy to aim at moving objects and providing coverage of multiple individuals simultaneously.

The CIRIS® long-range infrared illuminator is so powerful it makes night mode cameras night vision capable. Despite its power (1,000 mW), the device is completely eye safe when used at distances greater than one meter. The CIRIS® is capable of illuminating subjects at distances over 600 meters.

DPM System Technologies Magazine Floorplate

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

DPM System Technologies has introduced a Magazine Floorplate with Carbide Tip for Car Glass Breakage. The secret is the carbide tip. The idea is that you can use the butt of your weapon to break vehicle windows. Alternatively, you can assume a reverse grip on a magazine with a mounted floorplate and use it as a stand alone device.

Designed to fit the following Glock magazines: 9mm / 40s&w / 357SIG / .45 AUTO / .45 G.A.P. (Except for the Single – Stack Magazine, Glock 36 model). In addition to polymer versions in Black, Green, Tan, and Yellow there is also a Black aluminum model available.

I don’t know if I am convinced this is where a glass breaker belongs but I am sure some of our readers will find this useful.
