Wyoming Makes Hunting With Suppressors Legal

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

In some areas of the United States, legislators are hard at work devising new laws to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens to own and use firearms. But, in other areas, the opposite is happening. Take for example Wyoming where lawmakers have made it legal to hunt with suppressors. Here is a short announcement from the American Silencer Association.

WYOMING: HUNTING WITH SUPPRESSORS BILL SIGNED INTO LAW
New Law Goes Into Effect July 1, 2013

The American Silencer Association is pleased to announce that on February 18, Governor Matt Mead signed SF0132 into law, granting hunters in the state of Wyoming the right to use legally owned suppressors while hunting all varmint, big game, and trophy animals. The new law will also legalize the possession of suppressors “anywhere where game may occur”, eliminating an ambiguous interpretation of the law by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department which made it unclear whether it was previously legal to use suppressors at outdoor shooting ranges. However, it is important to note that under the new law landowners may restrict the use of suppressors on private land.

Today, Contact The Colorado Senate to Protect the Rights of Gun Owners

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

Yesterday the Colorado House passed HB 13-1224 which restricts so-called “High Capacity Magazines” and a number of other gun-control bills, but the fight is far from over. These bills still need to pass through Senate Committee and be passed by the Senate itself before it moves to the Governor’s office for signature in order to become law. Contact these Colorado Senators and politely explain why HB 13-1224 is bad policy, will harm the rights of law abiding citizens, and drive jobs out of the state while doing nothing to improve public safety. Magpul Industries will leave the state of Colorado if this bill becomes law.

AKU Pilgrim

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

Many of you are familiar with the AKU NS 564 Bosco Boot. Trekitt, an outdoor shop in Hereford, UK has worked with Italian boot producer AKU to take the next evolutionary step for this classic design. Seeing how Trekitt is located in Hereford, this new boot is named appropriately enough the Pilgrim.

The AKU Pilgrim is offered in two models; Pilgrim DS for dry hot climates and Pilgrim GTX for wet temperate climates.

20130219-091752.jpg

The biggest change is that the boot features the Internal Midsole System which uses an anatomically shaped 3D midsole that mimics the natural foot shape to increase support and minimize slippage. Above the IMS midsole is a 3mm layer of high density EVA which protects the user from loading forces particularly when carrying heavy packs. It also provides a layer of protective support for foot rather than it resting on a hard material. Below the IMS midsole is a thicker layer of 5mm (under the forefoot) and 17mm (under the heel) high density EVA which absorbs impact forces from the ground.

The Pilgrim continues to integrate the AIR8000 materials used in the Bosco. But, with two variants for hot dry and temperate wet conditions you can enjoy the same look and fit for both environments.

ESS Laser Protective Lens

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

ESS has introduced Laser Protective Lenses which not only provide protection from laser threats but also the same ballistic and UV protections found in all ESS glasses.

LPLs are created by impregnating dyes into ESS’ high-grade polycarbonate during the injection molding process. Each dye absorbs a specific light frequency, producing a colored lens capable of blocking the concentrated light emitted from laser devices at the specified nanometer wavelength(s) and optical density (OD).
