Friday, February 21st, 2014Mayflower Research & Consulting offers several carriage pouch options for HK417 magazines to integrate MOLLE or as inserts for pocket systems.
First off, the 417 Triple Magazine Placard is a quick attach/detach placard allowing the end user to quickly change weapon systems without removing the rest of his equipment (radio, med etc).
The Double HK417 Magazine Insert is designed to be used in-conjunction with the APC or LPAC/LPAAC in either the front kangaroo pocket or as an insert into the standard cumberbund pocket.
The HK417 Single Mag Pouch, Open Top incorporates an adjustable shock cord retention system. The front of the pouch has two rows of MOLLE webbing to attach additional pouches.
The HK417 Triple Mag Pouch, Open Top holds three HK417 20 round magazines with an adjustable shock cord retention system. At the front of the pouch are two rows of MOLLE webbing to attach additional pouches.

Design Like You Mean It – Ditto Slim Wallet
Friday, February 21st, 2014Last Spring I had a chance to visit NEMO Equipment. One thing that struck me was a sign that said, “Design Like You Mean It.” Check this video out on the design process for the new minimalist Ditto Slim Wallet and then you’ll understand what they are up to.
Using paper, masking tape, staples, elastic, rubber bands, fabric, welding, stitching, sewing, it took 65 prototypes to arrive at the final design of the Ditto Slim Wallet. On the surface, this is an inside look at the design process involved in making the Ditto Slim Wallet. But much deeper than that, it’s an ode to the necessity of play and exploration in design. Some of the best designs come out of feeling free to fail, and not being afraid to make something that doesn’t work. Three Sixty Corporation – Advanced Combat Helmet Light (ACHL)
Friday, February 21st, 2014The ACHL helmet light from Three Sixty Corporation is a tactical, lightweight center-mounted, multiple-output helmet light. It features four white LEDs, two red LEDs, one blue lens for medical personnel, and a blackout cover.
The ACHL features a durable, lightweight polymer body. The weight of the ACHL is only 1.25 oz, and is powered by a single CR2 3V battery. It is capable of producing 35.2 lumens with a runtime of 8.9 hours, and 6.2 lumens of red flood light with a run time of 25.6 hours.
The white LEDs function as general-purpose, immediate work area illumination. The red secondary LEDs provide center-mounted illumination without producing a large light signature. The blackout cover slides into place for adjusting the amount of light used, or eliminating light entirely.
The ACHL is designed to attach to any Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) and Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) via the included centrally located mount. With this mount, the light can be rotated 360 degrees, and can also be quickly removed from the mount by removing the battery cap. The ACHL also comes with a lightweight headband, eliminating the need for a separate quick-use headlamp.

Boasting haul loops on either end as well as a wrap around handle, the Arms Case also offers an external storage pocket with a Velcro panel for removable identification markings.
The carbine length Arms Case is 36″ and the long Gun variant is 43″. As you can see, the interior features 6/12 slots and the weapon tiedowns can be configured to accommodate a variety of weapons. Both will accept scoped weapons with standard 20 or 30 round magazines attached as well as a removable 6/12 Organizer Panel which allows you to configure the interior how you see fit. It attaches to the interior of the Arms Case via “G” Hooks and when removed, can be hung on a hook, nail or door knob while you reconfigure your kit. But for the Arms Case, modularity goes beyond just setting the interior up. In addition to managing your internal configuration, you can also integrate the entire Arms Case into many hard cases as a padded weapon insert in order to consolidate your gear and protect it for long haul transportation.
The Arms Case closes with a 3/4 zipper that allows you to open it flat.
Additionally, it accepts an optional shoulder strap for ease of carry.

The Turtle’s Harness from CTOMS is a MOLLE plate carrier integrated chest harness system that creates a mid-chest attachment point for hoisting and high angle work. Fully compatible with the CTOMS M-Harness, the Turtle’s Harness raises the attachment point, significantly mitigating the potential of inverting, especially when wearing a heavy pack.
