Tactical Assault Gear’s Basic Loadout Bag

Friday, May 30th, 2014

Tactical Assault Gear’s basic loadout bag is a large rolling travel bag that has just under 7000 cubic inches of storage space, that includes 4 large removable mesh storage bags. With a letter of justification, the Army just purchased 9,464 of these from TAG for RFI.

Chris Osman, the founder of TAG said, “this is a great order for us and is one of the many reasons I decided to return to TAG, six months ago. I have always enjoyed working directly with end users and procurement offices on opportunities like this. I am very proud that our military cares about procuring Berry Compliant quality products for our troops and an order of this magnitudes proves that.”

Friday, May 30th, 2014

There are lots of folks out there who would like to integrate FirstSpear’s Tubes and 6/12 technology into their existing armor carriers. In this week’s Friday Focus we’ll show you a product that does just that; the Retro-Fit Cummerbund Kit.

FS Cummerbund Retrofit Kit - mounted

The 6/12 & TUBES Retro-Fit Kit is compatible with carriers that utilizes a traditional hook & loop flap system and rear MOLLE or cummerbund pass-through channel. The Cummerbund also accepts Soft Armor Inserts and 6×6 Hard Plates. Once in place, you don/doff the vest via the Tubes attachment to either side of the cummerbund. There is also a certain amount of size adjustment to the rear via the elastic cord. In addition to Tubes, you also get 6/12 which is not only backwards compatible with PALS but also accepts FirstSpear’s full line of 6/12 pouches.

Offered in Small/Medium or Large/Extra Large, in Black, Coyote, Khaki, Ranger Green and MultiCam.

FirstSpear is offering Free Domestic Ground + APO/FPO Shipping on your entire cart with purchase of retro-fit cummerbund.

In case you wondered what a typical day for the Diabolical Ronnie Fowlkes is like, check out this video that also happens to demonstrate just how tough the Tubes technology really is.

MEMORANDUM FOR AF/A1

SUBJECT: Establishment of a Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal

After careful consideration, the proposal to create the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal is approved. The medal’s intent and criteria support the recognition of Airmen dedicated to our nation’s strategic objectives in nuclear deterrence. The effective date of this medal is 27 May 2014. Eligibility for this medal will be made retroactive for currently serving active, guard, and reserve Airmen.

Signed, Deborah Lee James, SECAF

The Air Force’s nuclear deterrent community has been plagued with scandal. One of the remedies seems to be this new medal, authorized by the SECAF earlier this week. Check out the photos below for more info.

TACOST Rifle Card Set From TRICON Now Available

Thursday, May 29th, 2014

Two weeks ago, we posted a sneak peak of the Rifle drill expansion for the TACOST card set from TRICON. Now, the set is fully available for purchase on the TRICON website.

20140515-112737.jpg

Developed by Jeff Gonzales, TRICON’s TACOST (TAsk, COnditions & STandards) card set offers four different rifle training groups: marksmanship, speed, baseline, and dry fire, with 13 training exercises per group. These are kind of like training decks for other sports with different exercises or drills in this case on each card. The drills are clearly explained with information including range, rounds fired, point penalties, and a basic explanation. Additionally, the deck includes Legend and Safety Rules cards. In a pinch, the cards can also function as a full deck of playing cards, as they’re marked with all four suits and 13 ranks.

Former U.S. Navy SEAL Cade Courtley to Host “America Unplugged”

NEW BERLIN, WI (May 28, 2014) – Imagine a world where Americans no longer rely on local government for electricity, water, sanitation, heating, and cooling. The lifestyle of living “off the grid” is how more than 400,000 Americans choose to live every day. Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor television for American sportsmen and women, will chronicle the men and women who live a self-sustaining life in a new series called America Unplugged, airing exclusively on Sportsman Channel beginning on Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

You can watch a sneak peek of America Unplugged here: http://bit.ly/1tQKUeh

In addition to the estimated 400,000 Americans living off the grid, there are millions more taking proactive steps towards a lifestyle of self-reliance by stocking pantries, installing generators, and completely adjusting their lives. America Unplugged will reveal individuals, families and other groups across America who choose to live a self-sustaining lifestyle and remove themselves from some of the creature comforts of modern day.

“America Unplugged will reflect the spirit of Sportsman Channel’s ‘Red, Wild & Blue’ lifestyle,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production for Sportsman Channel. “Viewers will get a true understanding, through very unique and refreshing stories, of Americans who have chosen to live off the grid and lead an independent lifestyle. Cade Courtley is the perfect host to help us tell those stories.”

Former U.S. Navy SEAL/Sniper Cade Courtley will highlight unique and fascinating stories about eight Americans – some with families – who have ‘pulled the plug.’ The series will chronicle the painstaking effort required to live exclusively off the land and the daily struggle to provide food and shelter.

Courtley’s goal is to become the “American face of survival.” He will use his credentials and ambition to host America Unplugged and speak about the topics of living a non-dependent lifestyle. Courtley will introduce viewers to civilians who are taking significant steps to control their own safety, survival, and self-reliance in the wake of natural disasters and civil disturbances. The former U.S. Navy SEAL/Sniper and Security Contractor has spent more than 15 years in some of the most hostile places on the planet and has produced/written/acted/hosted/consulted for successful Hollywood films and television shows, as well as authored the 2012 book: “A Navy SEAL’s Secrets to Surviving Any Disaster.”

The host will share his unique experiences and add perspective as to why millions of Americans are living off the grid. Sportsman Channel is partnering with A. Smith & Co. Productions’ executive producers Arthur Smith, Kent Weed, Frank Sinton and Michael Braverman on a project that will deliver real stories from real people. A. Smith & Co. Productions has produced several hit programs including: Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and American Ninja Warrior.

America Unplugged airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel, Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
