Team Polaris Unveils MRZR X

Tuesday, February 6th, 2018

MINNEAPOLIS and ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (February 6, 2018) — Team Polaris is displaying its advanced MRZR® X multi-mode, connected vehicle platform for the first time this week at the AUVSI Unmanned Systems show. As military forces worldwide look to lighten the warfighter’s load now and smartly network vehicles in the multi-domain battlefield in the coming years, the MRZR X provides an evolving, robotics capable, multi-mission platform. In addition, the MRZR X provides worldwide commonality with the MRZRs already in service in the U.S. and more than 30 allied nations.

“The MRZR is the preferred platform among infantry units and Special Forces worldwide, which helps make its integration and the transition from manned to unmanned systems easier for the warfighter,” said John Olson, PhD, vice president and general manager of Polaris Government and Defense. “The MRZR X maintains the MRZR mission profile and payload our customers are accustomed to, plus it has additional robotic and networked capabilities to further support warfighters.”

The MRZR X provides warfighters with a modular support platform and various modes of operation: traditional operator driving and multiple levels of autonomy, including the capability for remote control, teleoperation, follow-me, leader-follower and full autonomy. This allows the MRZR X to enhance and evolve mobility in varying roles, such as robotic equipment mule, autonomous resupply, warfighter-driven squad carrier, logistics support vehicle, rescue missions and high-speed casualty evacuation. In the future, the connectivity of the MRZR X will provide the ability to act as a networked node in the multi-domain battlespace.

ARA has been producing Modular Robotic Applique Kits (M-RAKs) for more than 20 years, with a specialty in off-road robotics, further enhanced by the acquisition of Neya Systems. The advanced MRZR X fully integrates the autonomy systems and optimally places the sensors to safeguard the technology while keeping the physical and software architecture open so it can spiral in future technology. The vehicle drivetrain is powerful and reliable, allowing for longer missions, high speeds and silent drive when needed – all on the very familiar, sustainable and intuitive MRZR platform.

Polaris Industries Inc., Applied Research Associates Inc. (ARA) and Neya Systems LLC formally teamed in 2017. The Team Polaris MRZR® X evolves squad mobility with advanced unmanned systems technology from ARA and the pioneering and unsurpassed autonomous systems behavior of Neya Systems. Team Polaris has many pursuits – together and individually – with U.S. services, allied militaries and commercial programs.

Primary Weapons Systems Releases Multiple New Product Lines at SHOT Show

Tuesday, February 6th, 2018

Primary Weapons Systems released multiple new product lines and updates at SHOT Show last month.

MK109_MOD2-M_Rifle_45

Starting with the MOD 1-M line (replacing the MK1 MOD 1-P line) with M-LOK handguards and Radian Raptor charging handles. Keeping the internals the same, the MK1 MOD 1-M line got a simple facelift. To match that, the MK2 MOD 1-M line also got M-LOK handguards and Radian Raptor charging handles.

Past the more expected updates, we take a look at the MK1 MOD 2-M line which replaces the MK1 MOD 2 line. The MK1 MOD 2-M line features not just an M-LOK handguard, but their patent pending PicLok handguard. Yes, it offers M-LOK along the entire length of the handguard, but also offers Picatinny in the front quarter of the rail. What sets the PWS MK1 MOD 2-M handguards apart, is the fact that M-LOK accessories direct thread into the handguard, meaning you don’t use the back T-nut of the accessory. This allows the shooter’s rail to truly stay as slim as possible while still offering a variety of mounting options. In addition to the PicLok handguard, the MK1 MOD 2-M line includes the Radian Raptor charging handle and Radian Talon safety selector.

For PWS customers wanting to do a quick handguard swap, we have good news! Handguards will be available as standalone items, so you can easily swap your current PicMod to PicLok.

The ALPHA line of rifles, easily differentiated by the FDE anodizing, was designed specifically for military use, but will be available for civilians. A few features of the ALPHA line are the heavier barrel profile, 1:7 barrel twist rate and gas adjustment knob in front of the handguard.

The last big release from PWS was the new PCC line in 9mm. Using a straight blowback system, taking GLOCK mags and having last round bolt hold open, PWS expects the PCC line to be a popular addition to their current offerings.

The PWS website is currently being rebuilt, but will be live by mid-February. In the meantime, customers can contact sales@primaryweapons.com for questions and purchasing.

Company Information:
Primary Weapons Systems (PWS) was formed in 2008 as a rifle component company and has since grown to be one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the Northwest. PWS initially made firearm accessories and compensators, but quickly moved into firearm manufacturing as they developed their PWS Long-Stroke Piston System which takes the operating system from Kalashnikov’s AK design and merges it with Stoner’s AR platform giving a hybrid rifle to shooters looking for a low-maintenance yet reliable and accurate firearm. PWS manufactures AR-15s in 223 Wylde, 300BLK and 7.62×39 as well as DPMS .308 pattern builds in both .308 Match and 6.5 Creedmoor- all with the long-stroke piston operating system. The PCC line of 9mm products is the only line that varies from the piston system, being a straight blowback system. Also manufactured by Primary Weapons Systems are lightweight buffer tubes, steel body buffers, accessories and a wide selection of compensators for firearms both piston driven and direct impingement.

ORWM 18 – The Tinkle Belle

Tuesday, February 6th, 2018

I almost walked right past The Tinker Belle booth at the recent Outdoor Retailer Show in Denver. But then, out of the corner of my eye, I realized what was going on.

92ECA465-95DD-45B6-9624-3F395E6D6BA2

As more and more women enjoy the outdoors, and join the military, they have to come to grips with the challenges of relieving themselves.

ED22F8C3-C600-4298-948E-AAA558DA7700

The Tinkle Belle is anatomically shaped to match a lady’s parts in order to prevent leakage, and long enough that she won’t pee on her shoes. However, it’s pliable shape folds into a discrete carrying case. Finally, it’s antimicrobial to avoid bad odor.

At the rear, you can attach the camera to the provided 10ft telescoping extension pole or using a painter’s pole adapter attach any length painters pole to extend the camera to view a 2nd floor, 3rd floor, or 4th floor window before entry. In addition, you can install an eye hook to the rear mount to lower the camera into a confined space using rope or from the roof of a building. The front mount allows you to insert a hook to pull away or remove debris blocking the cameras view (ex. false ceiling, walls, etc.). We can do this because of FL360’s wireless capability and portability.
