Tasmanian Tiger to Exhibit at the 2019 NTOA Law Enforcement Operations and Conference

The NTOA’s 36th Annual Law Enforcement Operations Conference and Trade Show will be held in Orlando, Florida, Aug. 18 – 23, 2019.

Miramar, Fla. (August 2019) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., will be exhibiting at the 2019 National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Law Enforcement Operations and Conference, to be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel and Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The Conference is from Aug. 18 – 23, 2019 and the Trade Show portion is from Aug. 18-19th. Tasmanian Tiger will be exhibiting at Booth 527.

Tasmanian Tiger recently had four products evaluated by the NTOA Member Tested and Recommended Program (MTRP) and received Two GOLD and Two SILVER Scores. The Tasmanian Tiger TT First Responder Move On MKII received an overall score of 4.97 out of 5 (Gold), the TT Tac Modular Pack 30 Vent received an overall score of 4.78 out of 5 (Gold), the TT Modular Pack 45+ received an overall score of 4.43 out of 5 (Silver), and the TT Medic Assault Pack MKII S received an overall score of 4.35 out of 5 (Silver). The MTRP members have tested more than 2,000 products in real-world situations since 2003. Results of the tests are shared with the law enforcement community and are regarded by many law enforcement agencies as paramount to their product purchasing decisions.

Tasmanian Tiger will be exhibiting an array of its military, tactical, medic and law enforcement equipment during the conference. Two In One – Rheinmetall’s New 60mm Mortar for Infantry and Special Forces

Rheinmetall has developed a new 60mm mortar for infantry and special forces. The RSG60 features innovative design and engineering characteristics which make this indirect fire system very light and easy to handle. A few quick manual adjustments turn the 15.8 kg standard infantry version into a commando mortar weighing just 6.8 kg, with no need for tools. This makes the RSG60 a two-in-one solution.

Depending on the ammunition and charges, the standard version can attain ranges of up 3,200 metres. Equipped with a thirty centimetre-longer barrel, the range increases by around 500 metres. The commando variant of the RSG60 has a range of around 2,000 metres.

About 70 centimetres long, the barrel is made of steel with a carbon fibre over-wrap. This assures the necessary stability at the same time as lower weight, resulting in a barrel that weighs around 30 percent less than a conventional steel mortar. The base plate is made of carbon fibre composite material. The novel design of this indirect fire weapon not only saves space, it can be set up and ready to fire in a matter of seconds. Furthermore, by loosening the retaining bolts, it is possible to separate the RSG60 from the base plate in around thirty seconds, transforming it into lighter-weight commando mortar.

Development of the new mortar began in October 2017 at Rheinmetall Waffe Munition. Rheinmetall’s objective was to augment the Group’s versatile family of 60mm ammunition and existing Rheinmetall Electronics fire control technology with a matching, future-oriented weapon system. Right from the start, development work therefore focused on low weight, speed and ergonomics.

The RSG60 has repeatedly undergone successful test firing.

Configurable headset solution delivers 3D Hear-Through and advanced hearing protection for combat operations

Gentex Corporation, a global leader in personal protection and situational awareness solutions for defense forces, emergency responders, and industrial personnel announced it has been awarded a Schedule 84 contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the procurement arm of the federal government, for its Ops-Core AMP Communication Headset. Introduced in the fall of 2018, the Ops-Core AMP Communication Headset features 3D Hear-Through Technology, which restores and enhances the operator’s “natural hearing” of the outside environment for improved situational awareness in high noise environments, while also providing robust hearing protection with a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 22db. With the addition of optional wire-free, battery-free, Near Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI) Earplugs, NRR is increased to 34dB, while maintaining clear-communication audio and ambient hear through. Dutch Army Receives Initial Revision Helmets

The Netherlands have received their initial batch of new combat helmets from Revision. They anticipate a full scale rollout in 2020, with full fielding completed by 2022.

The military police version will be all Black while regular forces will be issued Green helmets with Netherlands Fractal Pattern Green and NFP Tan covers.
