March 15, 2018 (Redmond, WA) – Multiple sniper teams will be putting the B.E. Meyers & Co. MAWL-DA and IZLID 200P to work illuminating targets at extreme distances as they shoot their way through the grueling night stages of the Annual USASOC Sniper Competition. This is a five-day, combat oriented event designed to test and honor the best teams from throughout the Special Operations community as they compete for coveted silent bragging rights. It is slated to run 18-23 March, 2018 in Fort Bragg, NC.
MAWL-DA
The MAWL-DA (Modular Advanced Weapon Laser – Direct Action) is a high power infrared and visible green aiming and illumination laser for individual carbines. Offering improved ergonomics, interface, and performance, the MAWL-DA has been engineered from the group around the needs of the modern night fighter. It incorporates cutting edge VCSEL technology which eliminates the current problem of inconsistent granular, speckled illumination. This unparalleled beam quality is leveraged with multiple modes of divergence and power, based on ideal settings for any operational environment.
IZLID 200P
The IZLID 200P is a compact, lightweight infrared (IR) laser pointer and illuminator small enough for hand held applications or mounted to a variety of weapon platforms. It is powerful enough to effectively support joint fires, or can be easily adjusted to support weapons mounted applications with illumination beyond 800m.

Aimpoint Announces Limited Run of Micro T-2 Flat Dark Earth Sights

Manassas, Virginia – March 15, 2018 – Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in reflex sighting technology, has announced the launch of a limited run of Micro T-2™ carbine ready sights in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) color. This is the first time the company has offered an FDE finished sight to the US market.
The sights are being finished with Cerakote® H-Series surface coating – an advanced thin-film ceramic coating that bonds completely with the aluminum alloy housing of the sight. Cerakote® finishes are known worldwide for their corrosion and chemical resistance, UV and thermal stability, and durability under extreme conditions.

Australian Army – LAND 400 Phase 2 Announcement: Rheinmetall has been selected to deliver Australia’s new Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle, the Boxer CRV

Following a rigorous testing process, Rheinmetall’s Boxer CRV was assessed as the most capable vehicle for the Australian Army. The vehicle will enhance the safety, security and protection of our troops, and will replace the ageing Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV).
The vehicles will be equipped with high levels of protection; firepower and mobility provided by the vehicles will be used for operations, varying from peacekeeping to close combat. They will able be used at facilities in Puckapunyal, Bandiana, Adelaide, Townsville and Enoggera.
The Boxer will be manufactured in South East Queensland and use over 24 manufacturers located across Australia.

Hatter, “but the expansion of the program to county police departments and area colleges represents an exciting new chapter. We are expanding initially in these departments but looking forward to making this program available to every department in St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Cape Girardeau, and Scott Counties.” In the first year, the goal is to recruit at least 25 new members of law enforcement/police officers.

SOTECH Introduces SOA Edition Mission Go Bag

We at SOTECH are honored to have been asked by the Special Operations Association to design a SOA commemorative satchel based on our iconic Mission Go Bag. We have delivered over 15,000 of these multi-configurable go bags to SOCOM during the GWOT and find it a fitting design an organization that represents all branches that have served in Special Operations. The SOA was established in 1977 as a Veteran’s fraternal organization of past and present American and Allied military special operations in a combat environment.
