Platatac – DPDU SAS Gore Fighter Fabric Windproof Smock

Elements of Australia’s 1 Sqn, SASR entered Iraq on 18th March 2003 hunting Scud missiles and may well have fired the first shots of the war deep in the west of the country.

Early in the war Australian SAS troopers were regularly fighting running battles with Iraqi soldiers.

The Platatac DPDU SAS Gore Fighter Fabric Windproof smock is a faithful reproduction of the smock used during the period utilising fabric from the original job. It has the addition of a silk woven escape & evasion map sewn into the lining of the smock for an additional internal pocket.

Available in very limited numbers & will come with a free set of reproduction DPDU Iraq War playing cards.

Carinthia Introduces Combat Clothing

Granted, I saw a lot of cool things at Enforce Tac and IWA, but this is one of the most surprising, and most welcome. In what is an obvious evolution of Carinthia’s successful line of outdoor and tactical clothing.

May I introduce Carinthia Combat Clothing. Carinthia told me that the uniforms were developed in cooperation with special operations forces and have already seen operational use. The line consists of four pieces:

Carinthia Combat Shirt -> CCS

Carinthia Combat Trousers -> CCT

Carinthia Combat Jacket-> CCJ

Carinthia Combat Hood-> CCH

Manufactured from fast drying material, they will also be offered in flame retardant and/or equipped with vector protection. There are slots for both elbow and knee pads which will accept many currently available as well Carinthia’s new pads developed in conjunction with Komperdell.

They will be offered in three colors: MultiCam Pattern, 5 color Flecktarn, and Olive Green.

IWA 22 – Durabo

Durabo is a Polish company that specializes in work and casual wear with military design cues like this Super 65 Field Jacket they launched awhile back. They also use Cordura fabrics in their clothing.

At IWA they gave is a sneak peek of their upcoming Combat Uniform.

It’s an interesting design with more of a field or Recce-style jacket than a combat shirt. As you can see, they anticipate use of Crye Precision knee pads.

Massif Launches First Responder Collection

Massif started out by providing FR garments for in Search and Rescue (SAR) crews. From this, select military aircrews adopted Massif FR clothing to withstand cold and wet environmental conditions. When service members began to face flame related threats due to Improvised Explosive Devices, the Department of Defense turned to Massif.

Massif has taken their flight-ready apparel for HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Management Services) and LE (Law Enforcement) personnel, to create a dedicated new First Responder Collection in true navy-blue colorway.

The collection is built around some of Massif’s legacy garments; the revolutionary 2-Piece Flight Suit with Lightweight and Midweight Inversion base layers along with the Elements Jacket.

Massif is well known for creating some of their own FR fabrics which meet ASTM D6413-F2302 performance specification for flame resistance. The garments have also been certified as Safe To Fly by the US Air Force.

A full range of sizing is available to support uniform programs, from XS-3XL.

Enforce Tac 22 – Tilak Military Clothing

The Nebbo is a lightweight insulated jacket from Tilak Military Gear which is located in the Czech Republic.

The shell is Pertex Microlight with Polartec Alpha insulation which is a great combination for active pursuits. To help keep you from overheating the Alpha insulation extends down the sleeve to just the bicep.

It stuffs into its own pockets and takes up about 1 liter in cubic size.

Offered in MultiCam, Khaki (which is more OD than Tan), and Black in sizes Small – XXLarge.

Enforce Tac 22 – Arktis

Arktis had a great display including their new Stealth Jacket.

Made from a Pertex 3-layer laminate with fully seam taped construction, this waterproof breathable jacket features a lightweight nylon ripstop shell large zippered chest pockets along with zippered bicep pockets. ID needs are met with a badge/rank holder at the chest and Velcro sleeve panels.
