The makers of the popular Rex Specs K9 goggles are introducing a new variant with integrated cameras.
Below you can see some detail. There is a wide angle dog vision camera under the lens. Additionally, there are lights, microphone. and a rear camera embedded in the frame, above the lens.
In addition to onboard recording, video and audio feeds can be transmitted up to 300m.
Like Rex Specs, the K9 Vision System features a padded harness for comfort during long-term wear.

Hero Labradors is a Disabled-Veteran owned 501c3 organization founded by Major Charles (Chuck) W. Ziegenfuss, US Army, retired.
We are producing QUALITY, genetically sound, AKC registered Labradors with AKC Champion bloodlines. We select, raise, and breed our girls (and one boy) to produce very high quality pups. We select service dog training programs worthy of our dogs–and we give these dogs to them, free of charge, with only their guarantee that they train them and donate them to either a disabled veteran, wounded warrior, or first responder (or their family members) who need them. It costs training programs NOTHING to receive one of our pups. Hero Labradors has zero paid employees; we are all volunteers. Hero Labradors provides for the breeding, selection, healthcare, and transportation of these dogs to their training programs, requiring NOTHING from the trainers nor recipients.

WHY:
On June 21st, 2005 Chuck Ziegenfuss was wounded by a roadside bomb while on a foot patrol in Baqubah, Iraq. He lost part of his left hand, full use of both hands, his eardrums, and large patches of skin on his legs and arms. Like many, he spent many months in the hospital trying to get well enough to return to duty, which he eventually did. In 2006 his wife bought him a Labrador, named Major after his recent promotion. Major found his own ways of taking care of Chuck, sensing his needs and became, most accidentally, his first service dog. Ziegenfuss went on to serve an additional 10 years, retiring in January 2015. Major was followed by Halia and eventually the rest of our canine family. This was the genesis for Hero Labradors.

The meals themselves are cooked meat or chicken with vegetables and can even be consumed by humans.
CQB K-9 has developed a dog helmet camera (Level III-A with GPS, patent pending). It’s a modular design, compatible with eye protection Rex Specs and hearing protection Mutt Muffs.
Seen here with Level III-A body armor vest it can also be used with a lightweight harness. This is the Mark 1 version and will be upgraded with more protection and jump/rappel capabilities along with communications and other covert sensors. It is capable of long range live video transmission.
The first Special Operations Forces K9 Conference (SOFK9C) has been held near Warsaw (Poland) in June 2018. The topic of this year’s event was “Use of Service Dogs in the Fight Against Modern Terrorism”.
Operators, dog handlers, trainers and canine specialists from USA and all around Europe gathered to share knowledge and their experience. Various K9 techniques and tactics used in special operations are discussed, demonstrated and trained.
The goal for this event is not only to share knowledge in SOF community but also to build and strenghten relationships between people working on this very special and relatively new subject.
The conference is organised by SOF Project (Poland), Silent Technical (Poland) and Norse K9 (Norway).
The next SOFK9C will be held in 2019.
I am an unrepentant dog lover, even Maligators, so when I saw the Trident K9 Tactical Helmet by K9 Helms, I had to stop and take a look.

A. The main shell is a single piece of super-tough, 3D printed nylon. It features complex curves and details that are finely tuned for performance and durability.
B. ANSI rated, UV400 eye protection is easy to install and remove, yet stays firmly in place. Independent, spherical lenses are canted to each side to maximize the dog’s peripheral vision.
C. Left and right side retention plates squeeze inward with strap tension, providing cushy-yet-firm clamping force.
D. Thick rubber strap is reversible for use by right or left handed humans.
E. 2-position rail can be used to mount a variety of devices, or it can be removed altogether in favor of cameras like the MOHOC, which may be attached directly to the helmet surface.
F. Flexible rear brace meets the neck and terminates in a flared beaver tail, stabilizing the helmet during sudden changes to head and neck angles.
G. Secured with Velcro, the multi-panel foam padding is easily replaced and made in 3 sizes to achieve the best possible fit.
H. Captive strap guides and shielded button stud provide a secure closure that’s fast and easy to operate.
I. Removable fasteners facilitate easy disassembly. Replaceable parts allow for many rebuilds — extending the unit’s service life.
The helmet is still in the development phase, but should be released late this year.
