Italian boot maker Crispi is very popular with European LE. Their SWAT PRO GTX caught my eye as a possible solution for those looking for a GSG-9 replacement.

The full grain leather construction is paired with a Gore-Tex liner. Additionally, there is a hard ankle protective insert. Finally, the outsole is oil resistant, non-slip.

Milipol 19 – NFM Introduces GENTO Duty Belt

Thursday, November 21st, 2019

The new GENTO Duty Belt from Norway’s NFM is designed primarily for LE.

The idea behind GENTO was that Law Enforcement officers generally have to choose between comfort and stability of their load which is born primarily on the duty belt. By introducing polymer into the equation, they could make the belt much thinner and yet retain rigidity.

Additionally, GENTO offers lumbar support. That large module at the back not only increases stability but it houses an adjustment system which allows the wearer to loosen or tighten the belt from the rear.

Here you can see the adjustments on either side of the rear of GENTO.

Additionally, you can configure different rear panels if the need arises.

Additionally, duty gear can be fitted to the belt and stabilized in place with Velcro fittings so they won’t slide around.

Milipol 19 – Schuberth Laser Protection

Thursday, November 21st, 2019

Law Enforcement officers are increasingly coming under attack from lasers, inflicting injuries that many don’t even know they have. Schuberth has developed a laser protective lense cassette that goes ontop of the existing P100N riotcontrol helmet without compromising protection against threats like blunt trauma, penetration, chemicals and fire.

Response time is key with laser threats. Regular laser protection glasses have to be retrieved from a pouch first. The SCHUBERTH solution is ready to be deployed even with gloves hands and will cause no pressure points on the temples.

With lasers being used mostly in the night it is equally important to get the protection out of the way when the threat is gone.

Unlike laser protective glasses it can be used with a respirator and with the helmet’s visor closed or open.
