Studying around the world exposed Randy to a wide variety of styles and he fought professionally for 10 years in MMA, becoming the Canadian Bantamweight Champion in 2012. He trains military, LE and citizens in his methods and has developed a signature knife which we’ll cover soon.

I only got to spend about 20 minutes with Randy but his story is fascinating and I’ll be following up soon with him to tell more about what he and his company does.

Operator Expo West – November 2-3 in Burnaby, BC

Wednesday, October 26th, 2022

What: OPEX West (Operator Expo West)

When: November 2nd & 3rd 2022

Where: Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre

4331 Dominion Street

Burnaby, British Columbia V5G 1C7

Following the success of the Operator Expo (OPEX) in Ottawa, the event is now coming to the West coast as OPEX West. OPEX West is a 2-day event (November 2nd & 3rd) focused on supporting the operational requirements of Military, Law Enforcement and Corrections end-users in Canada. This is arguably the most unique aspect of the show, as it is focused on directly supporting those on the frontlines. As such, the show features exhibitors from across the industry who specialize in the best gear, apparel, weapons systems, and training those end-users need.

OPEX West promises opportunities for agencies on the West Coast to gain insight, training, and procurement connections from leading manufacturers and suppliers in the industry. It will be conveniently held in the Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre and is easily accessible to agencies in the greater Vancouver area. Exhibitor spaces are now fully booked, so you can ensure a great show to come.

For more information, and to register, visit www.operatorexpo.com

Registration is also FREE for those who wish to attend.

Note: OPEX West is open ONLY to active Military, Law Enforcement, and Corrections personnel.

OpEx 22 – Brief Relief

Friday, June 3rd, 2022

Chances are, if you’ve deployed, you’ve used Brief Relief’s products. Yes, it’s a privy. But their disposable bagging system minimizes the mess.

One point I found quite interesting is that their hygiene products are certified for use in the Arctic.

Additionally, their urinal bag contains a nontoxic powder which becomes a gel once used (see pack on the left) which can easily be disposed of. Additionally, it is designed to be used by both men and women and includes a one-way valve to prevent spillage.
