N-Vision Optics Announces New Wide Field of View PVS-15 Night Vision Binocular

Friday, January 6th, 2017

N-Vision Optics is proud to announce our new Wide Field of View (WFOV) PVS-15 Night Vision Binocular. The WFOV PVS-15 features a ground-breaking 80° wide circular field of view without compromising optical resolution, size, weight, or power consumption (SWaP). The WFOVB PVS-15 is developed and built by Kent Optronics, where their proprietary foveal design of the objective and eyepiece lenses, provide the wide FOV with a high, on-axis resolution.

he 80° FOV is twice as wide as that of the standard AN/PVS-15 NVG. The limited 40° FOV of standard AN/PVS-15 NVGs restricts the off axis detection, and thus hinders peripheral vision. In addition, aggressive head scanning is necessary for maintaining minimal situational awareness, which presents the possibility of disorientation, neck strain, and fatigue for operators. The increased FOV guarantees a true 2-dimensional (2-d) wide area coverage in a much more compact and lightweight package.

WFOV PVS-15 is available as a retrofit for the standard AN/PVS-15 system or can be purchased as a brand new wide field of view binocular.

Nielsen-Kellerman to Showcase Kestrel Elite Ballistics Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics Software and LiNK at 2017 SHOT Show

Thursday, January 5th, 2017

Built-in targeting calculator makes handheld weather meter a compact ballistics tool and complete shooting solution

Boothwyn, PA – Nielsen-Kellerman (NK), creators and manufacturers of Kestrel® Ballistics Weather Meters, has announced they will be featuring their Kestrel 5700 Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics and LiNK, among many other innovative and sought-after products, integrations and strategic partnerships at the Kestrel booth (#1946) at the 2017 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

The Kestrel Elite takes the guesswork out of long-range shooting, even out to the transonic and subsonic flight range of your bullet. This next-generation integrated weather meter and ballistics calculator provides shooters with up-to-the-minute accurate wind speed and air density measurements combined with the full functionality of the highly regarded Applied Ballistics® solver engine and manufacturer-specific bullet flight model database. All this power is packed into a small four-ounce, rugged instrument that is easy to carry and use and proven through years of tough strategic use.

The Kestrel Elite is available with optional LiNK connectivity powered by Bluetooth low energy, which provides you with the power of the free Kestrel LiNK Ballistics app. The app allows shooters to build and manage gun/bullet profiles and download them to the Kestrel 5700 Elite; in addition to providing the extensive Litz library of custom bullet drag models for the most precise transonic and subsonic range solutions available anywhere.

LiNK enabled units can also be paired with LiNK compatible laser range finders, like the Safran Vectronix PLRF25C which offers snipers/spotters, marksmen and forward observers the smallest and most powerful MIL-SPEC Laser Range Finder on the market today. The ergonomic design of the Vectronix PLRF25C allows for one-handed use, with the one-button operation being intuitive and easy-to-learn. Ranging measurements up to 6,000m, as well as accurate angle measurements, are no problem for the compact (measuring only 131x88x55mm), and lightweight (430g) rangefinder. The PLRF25C features 6x magnification capability and is tactically proven in the most demanding environments.

The Kestrel Elite is also offered as a package with the Bushnell Elite 1 Mile CONX Laser Rangefinder. The two products work seamlessly together; with each target range data being transmitted to the paired Kestrel for instant calculation of an elevation hold. The data is then sent to the Kestrel and handed back to the rangefinder for display in the viewfinder. The Bushnell Elite 1 Mile CONX is accurate against reflective targets up to 1,760 yards and sends both inclination angle and range data to the Kestrel Elite for accurate high angle shots.

Like all Kestrel meters, the Kestrel Elite is drop-proof, dust-proof, waterproof and able to withstand harsh environments without damage – so it can accompany you to the range or hunt for years to come. A range of carry pouch options makes it even easier to take your unit with you.

“At Nielsen-Kellerman, we take great pride in being able to provide the same trusted accuracy, reliability, and usability in every generation of the Kestrel Ballistic and Weather Meters,” stated Nielsen-Kellerman CEO, Alix James. “Each Kestrel model is designed with its users in mind, and this upgraded version of the Kestrel Elite proves our commitment to innovation and making the best products available to all shooters.”
In addition to the Elite with LiNK, NK will also have several of their other favorite products for order during the course of the show, including:

• Kestrel Sportsman
• Kestrel DROP D3
• Kestrel 5500 Weather Meter

The full line of products is available at KestrelBallistics.com, the company’s new site, which provides users with all the information, products and resources they need for success in long-range shooting. Visitors to the site will be able to purchase products beyond the Kestrel units – as it is designed as a one-stop shop for shooting accessories. Products available include: Nightforce and Bushnell scopes, Bushnell rangefinders, MagnetoSpeed chronographs, and Full Spectrum Solutions shooting mats.

Attendees will be able to receive special SHOT Show pricing on any Kestrel Ballistics products. Kestrel will also host industry partners and ballistics experts, Bryan Litz, Nick Vitalbo and Todd Hodnett every afternoon at 2:00 at their booth for a Q&A session. Subjects range from ballistic calculating, to windage and predicting environmentals for a long range shot.

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017

N-Vision Optics is proud to present our latest models of streamlined Thermal Clip-On Weapon Sights. Building upon our original TC series, the newly developed TC35A and TC50A models offer increased performance, enhanced modular design, and a considerable decrease in weight. Through a combination of optimally modified optics and superior programming, both TC50A and TC35A provide wider compatibility with day optics of various magnifications. Constructed of durable, glass filled, molded plastic, and weighing in at just 696g and 831g respectively, the TC35A and TC50A provide operators with a modular and incredibly lightweight Thermal Clip-On while maintaining first-rate, rugged construction.

Additionally, N-Vision Optics’ Thermal Clip-Ons can be used effectively with day scopes with magnification of up to 10X or more. The sights can also be used as stand-alone thermal weapons scopes. The units feature four user-selectable reticle patterns with corresponding controls for zero, color, brightness and contrast and are compatible with a variety of weapon systems.

N-Vision Optics’ TC50A and TC35A provide operators with a significant advantage in detecting, observing and engaging targets in all conditions day or night. The TC Series Clip-Ons feature ergonomic and clearly marked, intuitive digital controls, which make it easy to operate and navigate the device via the digital user interface. SIG SAUER® Congratulates Tidewater Tactical on FBI Solicitation Win for Red Dot Sight

Tuesday, November 29th, 2016

SIG SAUER ROMEO4M™ to be issued by U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation

Newington, N.H. (October 29, 2016) – SIG SAUER, Inc., would like to congratulate Tidewater Tactical on successfully procuring the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) solicitation for red dot sights to be used on agency-issued patrol rifles. The contract was awarded via competitive bidding process. Tidewater Tactical will begin shipping the ROMEO4M™ to the FBI in government fiscal year 2017.

“This is a great win for Tidewater Tactical, and SIG SAUER is proud to have the ROMEO4M as a part of their win,” said Ron Cohen, President and CEO. “At SIG SAUER, we make our products to the highest standard because lives depend on it.”

The SIG SAUER ROMEO4M utilizes a proprietary ultra-efficient LED illumination system for superior daylight and nighttime visibility with extended run times. The compact red dot sight features multiple illumination settings and is programmed for 50,000 hours of normal use. This extended run time is made possible through the proprietary SIG SAUER Motion Activated Illumination System (MOTAC™). This unique system activates through motion-sensing technology, powering up illumination when the unit senses motion and powering down when the red-dot is not in use to extend battery life.

The extremely strong yet lightweight aircraft-grade CNC aluminum housing ensures a lifetime of reliable service. The ROMEO4M is rated IPX-8 waterproof (33 ft. for 30 minutes) and can be easily adjusted for both windage and elevation ranges. Additional features available on the ROMEO4M include a dual reticle option, allowing users to toggle between a 2 MOA red dot and a circle dot (2 MOA Circle-Dot/65 MOA). The ROMEO4M comes standard with a military-grade notch filter coating for reliable visibility in diverse environments.
