Easily Access Medical Equipment with the Tasmanian Tiger Medic Hip Bag

Knoxville, Tenn. (January 2022) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., announces the TT Medic Hip Bag is now available. Ergonomically designed, the TT Medic Hip Bag has intelligent interior partitions and internal variable fixation points to store medical equipment. The lid opens upward for easy access and includes a scissors pouch. It features a large zipped pocket and MOLLE hook on the exterior for modular expansion.

The side pockets of the TT Medic Hip Bag are equipped with MOLLE hook and loop strips. The hip belt can be removed so a medic may carry it as a shoulder bag, or, the shoulder strap may be detached to wear it freely as a hip bag. Designed to be attachable for vests, hip bags, etc., it can also be attached to a plate carrier using special adapters.

With a volume of nine liters (183 cubic inches), the TT Medic Hip Bag weighs in at 30 oz. (549g.). Made from Cordura® 700 den (Multicam 500 den), it measures 12.5 x 6 x 6.5 in. (32 x 16 x 17 cm). Eco Defense Group Supports Development of New Ranger Special Operations Team in Table Mountain Park

Eco Defense Group is excited to announce the initial phase in its program to support the newly formed “SEAM Team” in Table Mountain National Park.

Standing for “Sea, Air, Mountain,” the SEAM team is an elite group of Ranger recruits being trained for the strategic purpose of countering the poaching and criminal threats facing Table Mountain National Park. This is a radical new and highly effective approach to conserving the national park and its pristine wilderness, unique to Africa and a proclaimed, Natural World Heritage Site.

The SEAM team is a multi-discipline clandestine unit implementing a diversity of skillsets and capabilities. Eco Defense Group is proud to offer support and training where necessary and collaborate on the evolution of all three teams under the SEAM program.

Working with strategic US-based partners like Cloud Defensive, Vortex Optics, Otte Gear, ANR Design, Altus, Muddy Shutter Media, Altama Boots and Kay Foye Knives as well as private sponsors, and implementing US-special missions unit training expertise, Eco Defense Group is highly invested in the successful implementation of this noble program and has made it a 2022-2023 priority.

Official Army Press Release Regarding Next Generation Squad Weapons – Fire Control System Contract Award To Vortex Optics

Army awards Next Generation Fire Control System agreement to Sheltered Wings Inc. d/b/a Vortex Optics

PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. — The Army has awarded Sheltered Wings Inc. d/b/a Vortex Optics based in Barneveld, WI a 10-year firm fixed price, Follow-on Production Other Transaction Agreement (P-OTA) with a maximum ceiling value of $2.7 billion for production and delivery of up to 250,000 XM157 Next Generation Squad Weapons – Fire Control (NGSW-FC) systems over a ten-year period.

The NGSW-FC system is a ruggedized fire control that increases accuracy and lethality for the Close Combat Force. It integrates a number of advanced technologies including a variable magnification optic, backup etched reticle, laser rangefinder, ballistic calculator, atmospheric sensor suite, compass, Intra-Soldier Wireless, visible and infrared aiming lasers, and a digital display overlay.

The agreement minimum is $20 million and provides the U.S. Government the ability to procure fire control systems, supporting accessories, spare parts, repairs, and engineering services, to include requirements for other Department of Defense Services and potential Foreign Military Sales.

The NGSW-FC will serve as the fire control for the Next Generation Squad Weapons – Rifle and Next Generation Squad Weapons – Automatic Rifle. The NGSW-FC is the planned replacement for the Close Combat Optic, Rifle Combat Optic, and Machine Gun Optic within the Close Combat Force (Infantry, Cavalry Scouts and Combat Engineers).

The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

Savage Arms Adds .17 WSM to its A Series Rifle Line

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – January 3, 2022 – Savage Arms is proud to announce the addition of .17 Winchester Super Magnum (WSM) to its line of A Series rifles. The new A17 WSM Sporter and A17 WSM Target Thumbhole pair the dynamic rimfire cartridge with Savage’s A Series semiautomatic action for exceptional accuracy and fast follow-up shots.

“Savage has seen outstanding performance from the 17 WSM cartridge and felt it could be optimized in new platforms,” Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms said. “The A Series rifles have a delayed blowback design that accommodates this caliber with limited modifications, making it an ideal action for the WSM cartridge.
